Stayed at The Lazy Bear Cabin

My husband and I have stayed at this property 3 times now and with different owners. The original owner created it as a love language and it was absolutely amazing. Since changing hands it has slowly dwindled down. The extremely nice towels have disappeared, the stocked firewood is gone, and it has become a little run down with maintenance. Just little things that make it obvious the owner does not go to the property at all. However, Tony communicated easily and quickly and helped me resolve all issues. He was very gracious and not defensive at all. This cabin is still an adorable option in a beautiful area and very convenient to us. It has a lot of wonderful amenities. We will continue to rent it when in the area. I am confident that new management will be proactive to keeping it amazing.

Very nice place and stay. Small details that could be ironed out by a more thorough check before guests check in. Like making sure windows are shut and locked, making sure there is adequate lighting in cooking areas (many bulbs were burnt out) and also very dusty fan vents in bathrooms which can be a fire hazard. Also the light on the side of the hot tub on the inside of the tub itself was leaking what seemed to be rusty water, which seems to be unsafe to me. Over all a nice place but I would recommend the host do more personal and thorough checks of the home, because small details are what can often lead to safety concerns. Over all nothing that would keep us from wanting to stay again :)

We really enjoyed our stay, the house itself is lovely and has so much charm. The layout was comfortable and we appreciated the peaceful neighborhood. Bird watching and critter viewing was wonderful through the large windows. The fire pit and hot tub were wonderful! We did notice that it's on the older side and could use a little extra care and stocking to make it feel more welcoming and convenient for guests. Couch blankets and more utensils would be great. Overall, we had a nice time and appreciated the space!

Positive: Scenic location, QUIET and tucked nicely away, surrounded by woods, but close to town if needing to get groceries or get/do other things. Beds and pillows were super comfortable! House layout was perfect and everything needed was there. Lighting, heat and A/C were very good. Hot tub was a great bonus! Negative: Check out time at 10 am on a vacation is a bit too early. Having check-out extended to noon being included in the daily price would serve clients much better.

Tony’s Airbnb was exceptionally clean and well-maintained, offering a comfortable stay in a peaceful setting. The location is quite isolated, so expect to drive a bit to reach the national parks or other nearby attractions. Most local restaurants and recreation spots are closed Monday through Wednesday, which can limit options during those days. Overall, it’s a beautiful and serene place to unwind.

We were in town for a family wedding. The house was perfect for our family and we loved the “in the woods” feel. We saw various animals on our drive to and from the home which was nice. The few of the river is beautiful. It’s obvious that the homeowners/hosts pay attention to the needs of their guests.

We had a wonderful family stay at Harper's Ferry. House definitely had a historic character but we loved sitting out on the porch. Easily walkable into the town and for hiking although it's a good workout to walk all the way back up the hill so be prepared. Well placed to explore the rest of the area and we loved it.

Good place for two, but felt unsafe due to few lights around property. Also door would not lock and there were a lot of bugs. Some windows didn’t have curtains so also felt like someone was watching.

Beautiful setting and location!!!! Hot tub, fire pit and sun deck were amazing. Great view with beautiful sunsets. Also, while still private, it is very close to great attractions like Bryce resort, cave Ridge winery and others!!!

We had a great stay here. Very quiet and peaceful. Perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle. The cabin was also very clean. Only down fall was very uncomfortable master bed that needs to be replaced. I noticed it was also written in the memory book provided as well. The location is perfect with a cute town only 20ish minutes away and a few hiking trails to choose from.

The house is absolutely perfect. We plan on staying here again for our girls trip next year, as well. It’s home-y, cozy, clean, beautiful. Just truly a dream. Not a single complaint. Only tip for newcomers- it does go down to a one lane road for a few minutes on your way up the mountain. Just be very careful of oncoming cars. But on the plus, there’s no gravel at all. It’s all paved! Stay here, you won’t regret.

Absolutely beautiful home for a perfect weekend getaway. The space was well appointed, especially the the kitchen. It was likely in the description, but I didn't notice it, and it didn't affect us too much, but there isn't an oven. There's a microwave and toaster oven which sufficed, but it just felt odd considering how great the rest of the kitchen was (stainless steel appliances and induction stove). The bed was super comfy, shower was luxurious, and we loved that we could bring our dog. The only reason I took off a star was that the fireplace wasn't working. There were instructions to contact Tony if that happened, which we did. He said he reached out to his handyman and would let us know when he heard back, but we never did. Disappointing as we would have loved to use it over the chilly weekend. Otherwise, great place to stay and would highly recommend!

This place was very nice and convenient for what we were in the area for! The cabin was very cozy, clean and beautiful view! Would definitely stay here again! The communication with the host was also amazing. Very quick to respond!

Good space for a secluded weekend getaway. Hot tub was amazing, essential cookware in the kitchen, cool fire pit area. Rooms were on the smaller side but not too cramped. Living room was nice. Not too bad navigating to the house, but if you have AWD that would be a big help (a couple steep hills on gravel road). Drive to skyline drive wasn’t too bad (35 min). Overall we enjoyed our stay over the weekend . Thanks!
