Pet Friendly
We love hosting families and well-behaved small dogs! For allergy and maintenance reasons, we’re unfortunately unable to host cats. Dog bed and bowls provided.
Parking
The property offers on-site parking for up to 4 vehicles, making it easy for families and groups to arrive and stay comfortably. Ample driveway space allows for convenient unloading and easy in-and-out access throughout your stay.
Super Neighbor Policy
Due to County and HOA regulations, the following are additional rules that must be adhered to. Any violations will result in a $200 fine:
- Occupancy is 6 and absolutely no additional people are allowed on the premises.
- As this implies, absolutely no events or large gatherings
- Parking is in the Driveway only (No Street Parking)
- There must be no loose trash in the yard (it can blow into neighbors yards or attract bears and other pests)
In the Area:
Cranesville Swamp Nature Conservancy (2 mins walk): A rare and serene boreal bog preserve featuring boardwalks, wetlands, and unique flora and fauna—one of the few of its kind in the southern U.S. is within walking distance less than a 100ft from front door to trailhead. The entire cabin property is completely surrounded by the Nature Conservancy so no visible neighbors and you have absolute privacy and immersion into nature.
Swallow Falls State Park (Maryland) (15 mins away): Large grove of old hemlock forest. Offers beautiful waterfall hikes and a well-equipped campground—great for day trips or overnight stays.
Herrington Manor State Park (10 mins away): A special spot with a variety of outdoor activities; beautiful well kept lake with a sand beach with lifeguards for swimming, kayak rentals, bring your own SUP boards. Recently updated beginner friendly and expert level fun flowy mountain biking trails, hiking trails, cross country ski trails in winter, and a playground.
Backbone Food Farm (28 mins away): Hosting a variety of community gatherings, outdoor live music concerts, and seasonal farm-to-table orchard brunches.
Mountain Fresh Oakland Farmers Market (17 mins away): Producer-only farmers market held in an open-air pavilion by the Oakland town parking lot. Open Saturdays 10am - 1pm
