It was perfect for our family and our large dog Just make sure you find a way to secure the gate and you have a huge yard for the dog to run around in. Clean house, very comfortable beds and a nice big TV in the living room. What more can you ask for? Oh yeah a hot tub. 10 out of 10.

This was perfect for me and my family since we wanted to explore the Shenandoah National Park, the Luray Caverns, and the towns nearby. The host provided a detailed manual which included information on how to access the amenities in the cottage, nearby grocery stores, and recommended attractions.
Negative:
The only issue I had was that the master bedroom's sheets were not clean upon arrival. As we were preparing for bed we had found hair and lint under the blankets, however the host was quick to help by providing us new bedsheets to use.

Tony was a great host, very responsive to all messages and we got messages throughout our stay from them just checking in.
The property is nice, nice decor, clean, great vibe! We did have an issue with the air conditioning, which is why the review is 4 instead of 5 stars overall. Tony and his team were responsive when I messaged them about it, but we were not able to get the system working properly during our stay. Other than that, this was truly one of the better AirBNB stays that I’ve had and I would definitely stay here again!

This is the perfect house for a big group looking to stay near Shenandoah River and Luray Caverns.
We definitely enjoyed spending time in the backyard. We loved the fire pit, hot tub, and the outdoor yard game treasure box was full of games. We particularly enjoyed the giant Jenga and cornhole games. There was badminton but unfortunately the rackets were broken.
The bugs are no joke but we brought plenty of bug spray and kept the place clean to prevent ants from taking over.
Fantastic cottage for a great price. Highly recommend.

Comfortable beds and very clean. Bathrooms could use some updating to match the rest of the house. Nice spacious backyard and hot tube which we didn't get a chance to use. I would recommend Tony's place for families.

We had to make an unexpected last minute stop in Luray, and spent one night here. It was perfect for us! Tony was so wonderful and attentive, a great communicator! The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The hot tub was a great bonus after a long day on the road! There was a fire pit and a big yard for the kids to play. It was a quiet peaceful area with a view of the mountains too! Plenty of room for each of us to have our own beds. We didn’t have time to do any thing in town, but it was not far from the house so it seemed like a great location. We enjoyed it so much we are already planning to stay there again on a return trip!

We were very happy to spend quality time together. The view of the mountains was perfect. Being outside with the fire-pit and spending time relaxing in the hot tub under the stars was a perfect ending to a wonderful vacation. Beds were very comfortable.

Very clean space. We have been to the Luray area for almost once a year, and this is by far the cleanest house we have been to. No weird bugs, centipedes, no strong deodorant to cover the bad toilet smell, etc, which are all very common in other airbnb in this area. The house style and decoration might not be perfect if you are aiming for showing off some pics on Ins, but it's a great place for family gatherings - sufficient rooms, gas grill, fire pits, etc.

We stayed for a small bachelorette weekend trip and had a fun time in the area. It was relatively central to everything we wanted to do. We really enjoyed floating on the river and picked this place because there were enough beds/enough space for everyone to fit comfortably. The pictures and descriptions are accurate although I will say the place looked a little beat up/worse for wear in person - definitely clean etc. but also well used and with some things that are broken or missing a few extra touches I might expect for the price (no extra pillows/blankets/towels, hot tub kinda cloudy, etc.). Spacious backyard, we also booked specifically for the dog friendliness although they only let you bring 2 dogs (just a heads up, not stated anywhere but found out after booking thinking we could bring all our dogs as well). Host was very responsive and communicative. 🙂 We had a great time.

Beyond our expectations! From the time of booking 6 months out until our check out time, Tony was extremely responsive & communication above and beyond.
Had a fabulous family time with Son, daughter in law and granddaughters. Loved the deer in yard and little bunnies . Clean, roomy, things to do and games to play for just relaxing time.

A group of friends and I stayed here for a weekend. We all had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed the space. Check in was easy, and early check in was offered for an additional fee. We loved the backyard and certainly made good use of the fire pit, hot tub, and grill. Tony had awesome communication from booking to check out. Will absolutely look into Tony’s place again next time I’m looking for a Shenandoah getaway!

Really wonderful place! Large fenced backyard made us wish we brought the pups. The house was clean, and the beds were SO comfortable! The most comfortable beds I've ever slept in away from home. You can tell the host was really intentional about guest comfort. There was plenty of room and very family friendly. Our favorite part was the evening - fireflies EVERYWHERE! We saw bunnies, deer, bats, etc. Can't say enough great things about this place.

Tony was an excellent host. In all my time with Airbnb, I have never met a more responsive and easy to work with host. The home itself is spotless and gorgeous. It has all the amenities one would need on a vacation, everything needed to grill, everything needed to sit by the fire. Ample furniture. Great bedrooms! Ample supplies for dish washing. Beautiful surroundings! Gorgeous property.

Ellery Cottage was a great home-base for our trip to Luray. It was clean and accommodating for our family. We didn’t spend a lot of time at the house since we were out exploring Luray and Shenandoah National Park, but it mostly had everything we needed. Tony was a responsive host and the instructions were easy to read/very clear. We also appreciated his list of recommendations.

Tony’s place was magnificent! The house was beautiful and had a nice backyard. The hot tub was a definite highlight! Go out at night to see the stars. They’re beautiful.

Tony was a great host to work with. He was very responsive and proactive about reaching out for any issues or recommendations. Thankfully it was smooth sailing so we didn't really need to get in touch. The location of the house was great for getting to Luray (15 minutes), Duncan Knob (20 mins), and some good restaurants. Wish we had stayed longer and been able to do more walking around town. The house isn't in the middle of nowhere- there are house on most sides- but it felt private enough that you could relax and unwind. It seemed like they're in the middle of updating the house (especially the bathrooms) but the rest of the house was clean and very modern feeling. We spent a lot of time at the dining room table playing games and doing Mad Libs which was provided. The hot tub was the only outdoor amenity we used and boy was it awesome to star gaze. Overall a very positive experience!

The place is impressive. We spent our Christmas weekend, and we had a fantastic experience. Everything was clean and in excellent condition. The hot tub is wonderful. The fire pit during the night is a must to enjoy the fire under the stars. Tony is an amazing host, communicative and helpful. Definitely, a place that I will be back to in the summer time.

We enjoyed our stay at this Airbnb. It needs finishing work done like trim around the baseboards and a good paint job : ) It was not as remote as we anticipated from the pics. We also were a little surprised when we received a text about taking our own garbage to the landfill after we had already placed it in the outside container as noted in the checkout manual. This took us out of way on what was already a long trip. We have stayed at many places and this was a first for us. It should be an expectation of the cleaning team. Beds were quite comfortable. Bathrooms were clean (except for windows/fans) and they need updated. The decor was lovely and seemed to be newer. The owner was very communicative. We appreciated being able to bring our dogs and having such a big yard for them to explore. We enjoyed some restaurants and shopping in downtown Luray which was a lovely 10 minute drive from the house.

Tony was very friendly and responsive. He gave us great recommendations for a short walk with toddlers and his house, while tastefully decorated, was also very kid friendly. Tony provided many kid games and coloring books which kept our kids busy. We loved the s'more sticks that were also provided. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and relaxing time in this home.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was very clean, with comfortable beds (and sheets already on the beds, a big plus) and a well-stocked kitchen (plenty of pots and pans for cooking). Hot tub under the stars was wonderful. Nice tv for watching movies, too. Plenty of seating in the comfortable living room. No complaints!

Tony's house was perfect for my overnight stay so I could enjoy some local hiking and visit with a friend. I only wish I could have stayed longer. This house is big enough for a family with kids to stay there. And my dog loved the large backyard.

We absolutely loved our stay at Tony's place. It was an easy to access location with great hiking less than 10 minutes away. The hot tub was wonderful in the evenings. The beds were comfortable, the pillows were cozy and the towels were fluffy (it's a rare airbnb find to get all of these!) The house is stocked with EVERYTHING you might need. We particularly loved finding the marshmallow sticks for s'mores by the fire, a selection of coloring books for out little one and a pack of new batteries to replace one that died. What a gem! Will definitely stay again.

This rental was beautifully furnished and immaculately cleaned. It had everything we needed. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfy, and the TV was large. The hot tub is great! While its a little far to drive to trailheads within Shenandoah Ntl Park every day, it was nearby plenty of other hiking trails. We wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else in Luray and highly recommend this rental!

The house has a big closed yard that is perfect for letting children / pets play on their own. It is located not too far from the Luray caverns and access to the Shenandoah park is just 30 min away.
They have all the things necessary to use as a base for trips to the park including cooking and food storage, barbequing equipment, washer/ dryer and dishwasher.
Overall, the space is great for a family of 8-10 guests who want to have a nice peaceful holiday.

An excellent little retreat in the woods. The cabin was comfortable and excellently furnished. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable living room and beds. Outdoor seating area to enjoy the front porch or back deck. Fire pit is spacious and the hot tub is an excellent plus after a long day of hiking.
Had lots of games and entertaining space for a family.
Great proximity to Shenandoah National Park and other area to dos. Great communication from host and would highly recommend. Wish I could have stayed a bit longer.
The house was clearly very recently renovated or re-furnished and there were some remnants of prior shelving units, wall outlet and quick paint jobs that may not have been fully finished. Didn't impact the stay at all but was esthetically noticeable. The rest of the decor was fantastic.
