We loved our stay in Front Royal! The Airbnb was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The area was peaceful and convenient, and we really enjoyed our time there. We’d definitely stay again!

I think this place was great, it’s worth what you pay, no noisy neighbors, you can hear the beautiful sounds of nature at night. The house stays cool with little help from the AC and fans. The house does not have a deadbolt, if you are a solo traveler just a warning. The only other thing I would warn other guests about, is the road to the Airbnb is gravel and steep, if you do not have a suv or truck with 4 wheel drive that’s a bit on the higher side this may not be the Airbnb for you, I can see it being an issue for someone with a car that’s not ment to go off pavement. The hills a little steep with rocks and a small rut in the middle of the road on the way up the hill. It was no issue in my Subaru Crosstreck but in a standard car I can see it being an issue. Other than that that it was amazing very homey and very chill away from the fast paced city life.

we loved our little stay at this airbnb! the sunroom is amazing with the prettiest mountain views, the hot tub is the best touch of relaxation! the location was great, close to the cute town and many wineries. our dog loved the relaxation too! the host was very responsive and kind to communicate with. would definitely stay again if vacationing to this area!

We enjoyed our stay at this cute little cabin. It was clean, and family friendly. Our kids enjoyed having the extra space in the loft area to hang out. The late check-out fee was a little different than we are used to, especially considering the time we are expected to check out. Additionally, check out time was 10am, but we are expected to take the trash with us, which the trash place doesn’t open until noon. That was upsetting and confusing. So, if you stay here, take your trash there the day before you check out.

Tony and team were responsive and friendly. We lost water the 2nd morning there and by the time we returned after exploring, it was back on. Very appreciative of the fast response.

Great rural cottage. The hosts have extremely well documented everything about the place for easy reference. Cottage is well stocked with heaters, and A/C for any weather. Sun porch is a great extra here. The only downside is you are expected to dispose of your own trash and recycling at a nearby waste station. Which was understandable, given the challenges of the area.

Our stay at the Sweet Pea Cottage was amazing! It is the perfect location to do a day trip to Shenandoah National Park. The hot tub was a great addition to look forward to after a long day of hiking! We enjoyed our time at this cabin retreat. The space was a good size for 2 adults and 2 small kids (they really loved the bunk beds). The cabin is situated well on the property to make it feel really private. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable.
It was a little further from Shenandoah than I anticipated but if you set your expectations correctly, it isn’t terrible.

This stay was very nice. My friend and i came with our young children for a little getaway and hiking. Beautiful area with all you need for a nice outdoorsy getaway. The hottub was nice after hiking all day and the fireplace and grill were definitely a staple to have for our little gals retreat. The host was very responsive when we needed anything.

Tony’s place felt like what AirBnBs used to be (and should be in my opinion). You’re living in a place that’s clearly someone’s home/personal vacation home and all the quirks that comes with it. It’s not luxury or a wannabe hotel and that’s not what it’s supposed to be. It’s a good quaint place to stay without all the hotel prices and hassle.
Only complaint was some of the clearly cut corners on cleaning. My dog’s ball rolled under the couch and it was pretty grumpy under there. There were a couple other things like that.

We enjoyed our time at the cabin. We love this part of Virginia and the cabin is centrally located to get out to Bluemont, Front Royal, Sperryville, etc. in 45 minutes or less. We used the fire pit and hot tub, made full meals in the kitchen, and enjoyed coffee on the enclosed porch. There weren’t any issues with indoor temps, wi-fi, or TV. Just a nice easy check-in/out process, friendly hosts, and a great visit.

Tony was very responsive and helpful. The location is fairly private, but be aware you must go up a steep gravel drive for a few hundred feet. Overall we would love to stay with Tony again!

We really enjoyed our stay. It was one of the cleanest places we have stayed at, including the very spacious Hot Tub. So peaceful and very private. The beds were comfortable as was the sofa and chair. The water pressure in the shower was better than any place I’ve been! For a quiet, peaceful getaway, it was perfect. It was just 2 of us, and about 100 degrees, so we didn’t use the loft at all, but the window units did a good job of keeping the downstairs comfortable. This was pretty remote, but close enough to adorable Front Royal, all the parks, and many wineries. The kitchen is pretty sparsely equipped, so I wouldn’t plan on cooking much, and I could have wished for more comfortable chairs on the porch, maybe a small table. I also prefer a walkable neighborhood, which this was not. All in all, this place delivered and I would stay here again if we were in the area.

Loved the Airbnb and we enjoyed our stay. It looked exactly like the picture and I would definitely come back here again. My only issue was that during our two overnight stay we had very little access to water. It was impossible to shower or wash our hands at sometime. However, Tony was super responsive and has provided us a partial refund for that inconvenience.

Tony’s place is a true gem! If you’re looking for a get-away in the Virginia countryside, this is your place. Unfortunately, there was no lake access during our stay – check with Tony before if this is important for you (was for us). All else was exactly as described.

Tony went out of his way to clearly communicate. He was very responsive when we had any questions. He offered many suggestions for things to do in the area.
His beautiful place had many extra amenities. The bathroom had soap, body lotion, shampoos, and plenty of clean comfortable towels. The kitchen was also stocked with extras such as spices to cook with and barbecue tools. Even the dishes matched the decorative theme throughout the home.
The amazing clean hot tub was strong and hot. The place was private, quiet, clean, and beautifully decorated. The sunroom was a great place to relax and hear the birds. The bed was very comfortable.
The fire pit was relaxing.
The only draw back
Was that there wasn’t a direct view of the mountain from the property but you could see the mountain range across the street.

Tony’s place was the perfect retreat. I took my wife on a little getaway for her birthday and this place couldn’t have been better. The close proximity to so much hiking, wine tasting, fantastic restaurants and of course star gazing was perfect. We got excellent use out of the hot tub and fire pit, if you need wood Jim’s country store about 10 minutes away had a great selection for an affordable price. Also, while in the area Mary’s rock hike in Shenandoah NP provided a breathtaking view of the Virginia landscape. Thank you Tony for an excellent stay.

We needed a quiet place to crash that was quiet, dog-friendly, clean and comfortable and this place met all of that criteria. It’s quite secluded and cozy, but there are neighbors right across the road and you don’t feel too isolated. Beautiful drives to and from. Downtown Front Royal is only about a 20-minute drive from the place and there are nice restaurants, as well as some cute retail shops. I wouldn’t rely on the nearest grocery store, but it might suit others’ needs better. Super easy to get in, easy instructions to follow on the way out. Tony is friendly, accommodating and is very responsive. It was a really easy drive to Shenandoah National Park. Thanks, Tony!

1000am check out, the couch isn't comfortable to sit on and watch TV, had to figure out which light switches went to what, and would love to have luggage stands (foldable ones are perfect) in the bedrooms. Luckily it was just the two of us so we used the bunk beds.

We had such a wonderful stay! The house was very clean and cozy! We spent most of our time hiking in the National Park, but we used the hot tub in the evenings and we were very grateful to have it! The house is about 20 minutes outside of town, so be prepped to add roughly 20 mins on to any excursions, but the remote location is worth it!
The loft area with the beanbag chairs was a very cool addition as well!

Really beautiful mountain cabin/home. Gorgeous sunsets from the porch and evenings spent in the hot tub were fantastic. No issues whatsoever – this was perfect for a little work from home retreat (great wifi and working spaces!).
We topped off our stay with visits to local restaurants, farms, and markets. Spectacular!

Tony was a great host. The cabin was nice and private with a great view of the night sky and an absolutely to die for hot tub. The surrounding activities were great and tony was kind enough to leave behind several well placed brochures to give us ideas on things to do should we need them. He allowed us to check in early at a greatly reduced rate as well. He was very quick to respond when I had question and was overall very helpful and pleasant to converse with. Given the area though I do think the price was a little steep but overall I would do it again.

My friend and I had booked Tony’s place for a little photography getaway weekend. Tony was AMAZING. Hands down one of the best hosts I have ever had with an Airbnb. He had a house manual sent to us that described everything in full detail- like the rules, directions, etc. He also made sure to check in via text each day to make sure all was well and that we were doing okay. As far as the house, like stated in the manual it is an old fashioned home. The cleaning lady/man did not do a great job at cleaning. It didn’t smell clean, but it didn’t smell dirty either. The floors were super dusty and we had to sweep up things left on the floor. There were mouse droppings all over the silverware and kitchen utensils. Having a cleaning lady- she should have made sure the home was truly CLEAN. I don’t think this is of fault of the host, however a better cleaning person should be hired! Overall it was a good stay, I probably wouldn’t stay there again but would use another one of Tony’s places!

Really cute and clean place with a nice hot tub. Very isolated. Unfortunately we went in the middle of an extreme winter temperature (below 0 F) and the heating system is not strong enough to withstand such temperature drops. The bedroom heating worked well, everywhere else in the house was pretty cold.

We LOVED the hot tub. She is here from West Africa and I think this definitely helped to make the transition easier from the muggy heat to the frigid cold haha!. Everything about the accommodations was divine and Tony was extremely helpful, understanding, and kind. We wish we had stayed a few more nights and definitely will be back!

Tony’s place was very clean. It was much more remote than what we were looking for, but I’m sure it’s quite nice during the summer and for longer stays. Would have loved a little heater in the bathroom, it’s was chilly when we were there and there is not heat in the bathroom. The water pressure in the shower was awesome!

Everything was as described in the listing – and even cuter in person. I wish we stayed longer than one night to enjoy the fire pit, lakes and the hot tub. Tony’s place was cute, pretty secluded and comfortable. About 20 minutes from town and 35 to the Shenandoah Front Royale entrance.
We couldn’t figure out how to get to the lake, there were woods from the house to the “lake access” so we didn’t end up seeing the lake at all. It’s a great stay for 3, maybe 4 people or a family since there is only one bathroom. The house lacked a few kitchen amenities if you are looking to cook. The fire pit outside was nice, but remember to bring firewood. I’d highly recommend for a short 2-3 night trip.

First let me say we had a perfect weekend away for wine tasting and hiking. The cottage was very clean and tidy. Communication with Tony was fabulous he was beyond accommodating and always available for anything including recommendations that we needed. We had a great time in the hot tub and making s’mores around the fire.
I will say the house is a pretty far drive (about 30 minutes) from food, hiking and attractions. It was also a bit difficult to find although he did warn us GPS would take us off course and promptly answered our calls for help finding it. I would also say you probably need all wheel drive.
If you’re looking for a house in the woods to relax in, this cottage is everything you’d want and more.

The stay was swell. The cottage is cute and cozy, it’s fully equipped with everything you need and it’s nicely decorated and relaxing whether you’re inside or outside. Nicely located about 30 minutes from the Skyline Drive entrance to Shenandoah National Park and 20 minutes to Sky Meadows State Park.

We had a great stay at Tony’s place. The cottage was very comfortable and cozy and was very nicely decorated. We really enjoyed the screened porch and also the grill, and the kitchen was nice. The space was fairly small but was very comfortable for me, my wife, and our dog. Communication with Tony was very easy, and he shared nice recommendations for wineries and breweries in the area as well as parks. Front Royal is easy to get to and was nice to visit, and there are lots of nice parks and things to do within 30 minutes or so. The location is good on the top of a hill and what seems remote, but the accessible part of the yard is pretty small, and the house is in a neighborhood with quite a few houses nearby. The neighborhors were very quiet though, so this wasn’tan issue. Overall, this is a great option not too far from Front Royal with many nice things nearby.

This place is quiet and beautiful and offers a lot of choices for group or family activities. Our host Tony provided a lot of useful information about the neighborhood and the cottage, including a detailed manual. He’s not on site but he has been really nice and helpful!
The cottage is really nicely furnished inside, and we can watch TV with our streaming account. It can get a little cold at night so it’s better to turn on heater for a while before sleep. Overall the place is fantastic and is definitely worth staying.

Tony’s Sweat Pea is a great mountain retreat. Accessible out of the northern Virginia/DC area, it is a perfect spot to get away from the noise for a long weekend. Close to all that is happening in the Front Royal area as well. Tony is an exceptional communicator before, during, and after the visit, and his instructions for you about all things pertaining to the house and things to do in the area were a huge help. Would definitely come back!

It is such a cute little cottage! Loved the decor, felt very at home there, lots of light. Loved all the little touches. It was just what we needed.

It was cold, of course that's what you get with older homes. The host was great with helping us access extra blankets and we were there on an exceptionally cold and windy night. Upstairs attic space was not very clean, crumbs on the table, some trash up there, otherwise it was very clean.

This is a great cabin for a very quiet and peaceful stay. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The host has some wonderful extras, a really nice grill, a fire pit which we didn’t use but definitely those are nice to haves and had we stayed longer probably would have! The host was very communicative, answered all my texts almost immediately. The house was very easy to find and the directions provided for very clear and correct. I think Tony does an amazing job as a host!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Sweet Pea! A sweet little green cottage on top of a winding mountain road, this was a nice quiet respite from city noise and traffic. I got to break in the AWD on the RAV4 since it rained the first night I stayed, and the road can be tricky to navigate during bad weather, but the home itself is lovely, clean, and welcoming.
Refreshingly chilly in the morning, yes, but easily managed with the baseboard heaters and a pair of socks! It reminded me of Grandma’s house, but much more updated. A very nice place for a getaway.

Tony was a great host! His communication was phenomenal throughout my entire stay. The cottage was cozy and comfortable. I read other review that it was a little chilly, which it was . But that’s to be expected in a cottage on a mountain in the winter time! I wore leggings, socks & a hoodie in the cottage and was totally fine! It just adds to the mountain getaway experience in my opinion! The road to the cottage was a little rugged, would definitely need a 4×4 in bad weather but my little Corolla managed the roads with no issue. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a little weekend getaway!

Beautiful quaint cottage located high up in the rolling hills outside of Front Royal – great view from the screened in back porch; two bedrooms (one with bunk beds) and a beautiful wood paneled upstairs loft. The road in / up is a bit tricky – all wheel drive cars would be best especially in rainy or snowy weather. Host was great in terms of communication and helpfulness. Highly recommended!

This was overall a great experience! My only suggestion for guests is to bring slippers and sweaters because the main room and kitchen were so cold even though we brought blankets and socks. We were prepared but it never warmed up. The rooms were fine thankfully! Some heating lamps would make this a perfect stay! Tony was a great communicator.

I think this place was great, it’s worth what you pay, no noisy neighbors, you can hear the beautiful sounds of nature at night. The house stays cool with little help from the AC and fans. The house does not have a deadbolt, if you are a solo traveler just a warning. The only other thing I would warn other guests about, is the road to the Airbnb is gravel and steep, if you do not have a suv or truck with 4 wheel drive that’s a bit on the higher side this may not be the Airbnb for you, I can see it being an issue for someone with a car that’s not ment to go off pavement. The hills a little steep with rocks and a small rut in the middle of the road on the way up the hill. It was no issue in my Subaru Crosstreck but in a standard car I can see it being an issue. Other than that that it was amazing very homey and very chill away from the fast paced city life.

We enjoyed our stay at this cute little cabin. It was clean, and family friendly. Our kids enjoyed having the extra space in the loft area to hang out. The late check-out fee was a little different than we are used to, especially considering the time we are expected to check out. Additionally, check out time was 10am, but we are expected to take the trash with us, which the trash place doesn’t open until noon. That was upsetting and confusing. So, if you stay here, take your trash there the day before you check out.

Great rural cottage. The hosts have extremely well documented everything about the place for easy reference. Cottage is well stocked with heaters, and A/C for any weather. Sun porch is a great extra here. The only downside is you are expected to dispose of your own trash and recycling at a nearby waste station. Which was understandable, given the challenges of the area.

We enjoyed our time at this cabin retreat. The space was a good size for 2 adults and 2 small kids (they really loved the bunk beds). The cabin is situated well on the property to make it feel really private. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable.
It was a little further from Shenandoah than I anticipated but if you set your expectations correctly, it isn't terrible.

The host was friendly and responsive. The air Bnb is actually quite nice. I must've picked a bad time to go because it was not well maintained from the previous user(s):
- The sunroom has several windows over a beautiful view. But 2 of them were missing. One fallen down the hill and broken and the other had been placed or fall on the walkway. Given that it was 40 degrees and windy, the sunroom area was completely unusable
- The grill had 2/2 empty propane tanks. The user guide said if 1 was empty that we could use the other. But the other was empty.
- The hot tub had a few collections of dirt in it. Not enough to prevent me from getting in. But enough to choose to sit on one particular side and not use the jets. And admittedly, less enough that if it wasn't for the above issues, I would've just left it at sending the owner a text and not including it in my review.
- Someone left a pot of oil in the oven
Those things aside, the airbnb INSIDE was very nice.

Tony’s place felt like what AirBnBs used to be (and should be in my opinion). You’re living in a place that’s clearly someone’s home/personal vacation home and all the quirks that comes with it. It’s not luxury or a wannabe hotel and that’s not what it’s supposed to be. It’s a good quaint place to stay without all the hotel prices and hassle.
Only complaint was some of the clearly cut corners on cleaning. My dog’s ball rolled under the couch and it was pretty grumpy under there. There were a couple other things like that.

This was a very cozy cabin for our 2 night stay near the Shenandoah Valley National Park. We were very comfortable there. The kitchen had everything we needed to make a couple of meals and the hot tub was wonderful!

Hot water didn’t work while we were there, host was nice but slow to respond for resolution. All guest received bed bug bites, and unit smelled like smoke. Definitely would pick other places to stay.

We enjoyed our time at the cabin. We love this part of Virginia and the cabin is centrally located to get out to Bluemont, Front Royal, Sperryville, etc. in 45 minutes or less. We used the fire pit and hot tub, made full meals in the kitchen, and enjoyed coffee on the enclosed porch. There weren't any issues with indoor temps, wi-fi, or TV. Just a nice easy check-in/out process, friendly hosts, and a great visit.

- First thing I noticed was that the fire place in the living room is for decorative use only. In the photos, it shows a lit fireplace, but when I arrived there is a sign stating not to use it because it is for decorative use only and no fires can be lit. There was no where stated that the fireplace was for decorative use only. I like to light a fire especially when I travel from a place that we never light fires, and a fireplace is something I look for in a place. The photos were misleading showing a fire lit, but I could not use it.
- The furniture in the main bedroom was completely different. The bed was different than the photos and the bed was extremely low for my tall husband.
- The picture of the bathroom looked nice but when we arrived the towel holder was broken and the shower had mold in it. We were only given 3 towels for 3 nights for 3 people. There was no hot water and I wrote the owner about it and he said that he would speak to his handyman but no one contacted me about it afterward. My family and I had to take cold showers in 60 degree weather including my 3 year old son.
- In the photos, the floors look shiny and newer but they were old. The rugs were folded up and old looking as well.
- We were told that there would be bugs which is expected and they try their best to keep them out but the amount of stink bugs was ridiculous. They didn’t have anything to prevent any bugs. I could not even enjoy the bean bag on the patios because it was filled with bugs.
- They state they want us to dry the dishes before leaving but there were no hand towels left for us , only 1 roll of cheap paper towels to dry the dishes.
- We had to dump our own trash which is fine but our check out was on a Wednesday. The place to dump our trash in the neighborhood is closed on Wednesdays and so we were forced to keep our trash bags in our car until we found a place to dump it.
- There is no where to put our clothes. The closets were locked.

This was amazing quick getaway for the end of summer! The hot tub was great for relaxing late at night, and Tony was very responsive and proactive with letting us know what to expect. We would definitely stay here or at another one of Tony’s properties again if the opportunity arose!

Tony was super helpful when we needed it! Easy to check in/out, and such a cute space for the two of us to stay while we visited Shenandoah. The power did go out for about two hours on our last night, but Tony communicated very quickly with us. He was able to check to confirm it was an area outage and let us know when it would be back on. Really cozy and peaceful stay. It’s private but not in-the-middle-of-nowhere private so you can get into town and in Shenandoah pretty easily. Tony is an excellent host and is always proactive with trying to make your stay as best as it can be. Would 100% book again if we ever get the chance!

Tony was very helpful and cared about our stay. The house was nice and clean. We unfortunately had an issue with the hot tub, but Tony did what he could to make things right and take care of it. Tony was very responsive and helpful. The location is fairly private, but be aware you must go up a steep gravel drive for a few hundred feet. Overall we would love to stay with Tony again!

We really enjoyed our stay. It was one of the cleanest places we have stayed at, including the very spacious Hot Tub. So peaceful and very private. The beds were comfortable as was the sofa and chair. The water pressure in the shower was better than any place I've been! For a quiet, peaceful getaway, it was perfect. It was just 2 of us, and about 100 degrees, so we didn't use the loft at all, but the window units did a good job of keeping the downstairs comfortable. This was pretty remote, but close enough to adorable Front Royal, all the parks, and many wineries. The kitchen is pretty sparsely equipped, so I wouldn't plan on cooking much, and I could have wished for more comfortable chairs on the porch, maybe a small table. I also prefer a walkable neighborhood, which this was not. All in all, this place delivered and I would stay here again if we were in the area.

Location is semi- close to wineries/breweries. However, the cost for the Airbnb was overpriced for a small space, late check-in/early check-out, and issues with water impacting our stay/satisfaction. Water was turned off 2 hours before we had to check out. This issue occurred while a guest was in the shower. Two people were not able to shower.

Loved the Airbnb and we enjoyed our stay. It looked exactly like the picture and I would definitely come back here again. My only issue was that during our two overnight stay we had very little access to water. It was impossible to shower or wash our hands at sometime. However, Tony was super responsive and has provided us a partial refund for that inconvenience.

Tony went out of his way to clearly communicate. He was very responsive when we had any questions. He offered many suggestions for things to do in the area.
His beautiful place had many extra amenities. The bathroom had soap, body lotion, shampoos, and plenty of clean comfortable towels. The kitchen was also stocked with extras such as spices to cook with and barbecue tools. Even the dishes matched the decorative theme throughout the home.
The amazing clean hot tub was strong and hot. The place was private, quiet, clean, and beautifully decorated. The sunroom was a great place to relax and hear the birds. The bed was very comfortable.
The fire pit was relaxing.
The only draw back
Was that there wasn’t a direct view of the mountain from the property but you could see the mountain range across the street.

Tony’s place was the perfect retreat. I took my wife on a little getaway for her birthday and this place couldn’t have been better. The close proximity to so much hiking, wine tasting, fantastic restaurants and of course star gazing was perfect. We got excellent use out of the hot tub and fire pit, if you need wood Jim’s country store about 10 minutes away had a great selection for an affordable price. Also, while in the area Mary’s rock hike in Shenandoah NP provided a breathtaking view of the Virginia landscape. Thank you Tony for an excellent stay.

We needed a quiet place to crash that was quiet, dog-friendly, clean and comfortable and this place met all of that criteria. It’s quite secluded and cozy, but there are neighbors right across the road and you don’t feel too isolated. Beautiful drives to and from. Downtown Front Royal is only about a 20-minute drive from the place and there are nice restaurants, as well as some cute retail shops. I wouldn’t rely on the nearest grocery store, but it might suit others’ needs better. Super easy to get in, easy instructions to follow on the way out. Tony is friendly, accommodating and is very responsive. It was a really easy drive to Shenandoah National Park. Thanks, Tony!

1000am check out, the couch isn't comfortable to sit on and watch TV, had to figure out which light switches went to what, and would love to have luggage stands (foldable ones are perfect) in the bedrooms. Luckily it was just the two of us so we used the bunk beds.

Great property; poorly managed.
Arrival/departure instructions specify a 4pm check-in and a non-negotiable 10am checkout, with a fee for being even a minute over. We were denied access to check in until after 4:30 due to “the cleaners still being there.” That’s okay, things happen. Can we get some flexibility at checkout?

Also 00 flex on trash takeout… even tho dump is CLOSED on our checkout day.
Physical house manual states an 11am checkout. Text messages from the host preemptively and unprovoked “reminded” us that checkout is firm at 10 and we will be charged a fee if we’re late. When I pointed out to him the manual says 11, he called me a liar. It took sending a photo of his own house manual to him & STILL no compromise.
We understand humans are not robots and things happen. Maybe try to have a civil conversation first instead of jumping straight to “you’re lying”.

We had such a wonderful stay! The house was very clean and cozy! We spent most of our time hiking in the National Park, but we used the hot tub in the evenings and we were very grateful to have it! The house is about 20 minutes outside of town, so be prepped to add roughly 20 mins on to any excursions, but the remote location is worth it!
The loft area with the beanbag chairs was a very cool addition as well!

Really beautiful mountain cabin/home. Gorgeous sunsets from the porch and evenings spent in the hot tub were fantastic. No issues whatsoever - this was perfect for a little work from home retreat (great wifi and working spaces!).

Tony was a great host. The cabin was nice and private with a great view of the night sky and an absolutely to die for hot tub. The surrounding activities were great and tony was kind enough to leave behind several well placed brochures to give us ideas on things to do should we need them. He allowed us to check in early at a greatly reduced rate as well. He was very quick to respond when I had question and was overall very helpful and pleasant to converse with. Given the area though I do think the price was a little steep but overall I would do it again.

My friend and I had booked Tony's place for a little photography getaway weekend. Tony was AMAZING. Hands down one of the best hosts I have ever had with an Airbnb. He had a house manual sent to us that described everything in full detail- like the rules, directions, etc. He also made sure to check in via text each day to make sure all was well and that we were doing okay. As far as the house, like stated in the manual it is an old fashioned home. The cleaning lady/man did not do a great job at cleaning. It didn't smell clean, but it didn't smell dirty either. The floors were super dusty and we had to sweep up things left on the floor. There were mouse droppings all over the silverware and kitchen utensils. Having a cleaning lady- she should have made sure the home was truly CLEAN. I don't think this is of fault of the host, however a better cleaning person should be hired! Overall it was a good stay, I probably wouldn't stay there again but would use another one of Tony's places!

Really cute and clean place with a nice hot tub. Very isolated. Unfortunately we went in the middle of an extreme winter temperature (below 0 F) and the heating system is not strong enough to withstand such temperature drops. The bedroom heating worked well, everywhere else in the house was pretty cold.

my Wife and I spent the night celebrating both of our birthdays and her visit to the US after being posted overseas for six months.
We LOVED the hot tub. She is here from West Africa and I think this definitely helped to make the transition easier from the muggy heat to the frigid cold haha!. Everything about the accommodations was divine and Tony was extremely helpful, understanding, and kind. We wish we had stayed a few more nights and definitely will be back!

Tony’s place was very clean. It was much more remote than what we were looking for, but I’m sure it’s quite nice during the summer and for longer stays. Would have loved a little heater in the bathroom, it’s was chilly when we were there and there is not heat in the bathroom. The water pressure in the shower was awesome!

Tony’s place was cute, pretty secluded and comfortable. About 20 minutes from town and 35 to the Shenandoah Front Royale entrance.
We couldn’t figure out how to get to the lake, there were woods from the house to the “lake access” so we didn’t end up seeing the lake at all. It’s a great stay for 3, maybe 4 people or a family since there is only one bathroom. The house lacked a few kitchen amenities if you are looking to cook. The fire pit outside was nice, but remember to bring firewood. I’d highly recommend for a short 2-3 night trip.

Great place. Definitely recommend checking out downtown Front Royal. Hops and Honey and Vibrissa were both fantastic. Loved the location, close enough to the park and other historical locations but far enough away to feel removed from the high traffic areas.

First let me say we had a perfect weekend away for wine tasting and hiking. The cottage was very clean and tidy. Communication with Tony was fabulous he was beyond accommodating and always available for anything including recommendations that we needed. We had a great time in the hot tub and making s’mores around the fire.
I will say the house is a pretty far drive (about 30 minutes) from food, hiking and attractions. It was also a bit difficult to find although he did warn us GPS would take us off course and promptly answered our calls for help finding it. I would also say you probably need all wheel drive.
If you’re looking for a house in the woods to relax in, this cottage is everything you’d want and more.

The stay was swell. The cottage is cute and cozy, it’s fully equipped with everything you need and it’s nicely decorated and relaxing whether you’re inside or outside. We had a great stay at Tony's place. The cottage was very comfortable and cozy and was very nicely decorated. We really enjoyed the screened porch and also the grill, and the kitchen was nice. The space was fairly small but was very comfortable for me, my wife, and our dog. Communication with Tony was very easy, and he shared nice recommendations for wineries and breweries in the area as well as parks. Front Royal is easy to get to and was nice to visit, and there are lots of nice parks and things to do within 30 minutes or so. The location is good on the top of a hill and what seems remote, but the accessible part of the yard is pretty small, and the house is in a neighborhood with quite a few houses nearby. The neighborhors were very quiet though, so this wasn'tan issue. Overall, this is a great option not too far from Front Royal with many nice things nearby.

This place is quiet and beautiful and offers a lot of choices for group or family activities. Our host Tony provided a lot of useful information about the neighborhood and the cottage, including a detailed manual. He's not on site but he has been really nice and helpful!
The cottage is really nicely furnished inside, and we can watch TV with our streaming account. It can get a little cold at night so it's better to turn on heater for a while before sleep. Overall the place is fantastic and is definitely worth staying.

Tony's Sweat Pea is a great mountain retreat. Accessible out of the northern Virginia/DC area, it is a perfect spot to get away from the noise for a long weekend. Close to all that is happening in the Front Royal area as well. Tony is an exceptional communicator before, during, and after the visit, and his instructions for you about all things pertaining to the house and things to do in the area were a huge help. Would definitely come back!

Positive:
It is such a cute little cottage! Loved the decor, felt very at home there, lots of light. Loved all the little touches. It was just what we needed.
Negative:
It was cold, of course that's what you get with older homes. The host was great with helping us access extra blankets and we were there on an exceptionally cold and windy night. Upstairs attic space was not very clean, crumbs on the table, some trash up there, otherwise it was very clean.

It was a very nice little get away! The house is adorable and was very cozy to stay in. The roads get a little twisty and windy around the neighborhood, but it wasn’t too bad.

This is a great cabin for a very quiet and peaceful stay. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The host has some wonderful extras, a really nice grill, a fire pit which we didn’t use but definitely those are nice to haves and had we stayed longer probably would have! The host was very communicative, answered all my texts almost immediately. The house was very easy to find and the directions provided for very clear and correct. I think Tony does an amazing job as a host!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Sweet Pea! A sweet little green cottage on top of a winding mountain road, this was a nice quiet respite from city noise and traffic. I got to break in the AWD on the RAV4 since it rained the first night I stayed, and the road can be tricky to navigate during bad weather, but the home itself is lovely, clean, and welcoming.
Refreshingly chilly in the morning, yes, but easily managed with the baseboard heaters and a pair of socks! It reminded me of Grandma's house, but much more updated. A very nice place for a getaway.

This beautiful cottage is the perfect place to get away from the city! I’ve booked this place twice and I hope to return back again some day! Tony communicated very well and would reply very fast. The place was very nice, secluded, and organized as well.

Very clean and quiet with lots to do nearby. Tony was super communicative and responsive and has great suggestions for things to do in the area. We loved the screened in porch, fire pit, and grill! Great stay.

Tony was a great host! His communication was phenomenal throughout my entire stay. The cottage was cozy and comfortable. I read other review that it was a little chilly, which it was . But that's to be expected in a cottage on a mountain in the winter time! I wore leggings, socks & a hoodie in the cottage and was totally fine! It just adds to the mountain getaway experience in my opinion! The road to the cottage was a little rugged, would definitely need a 4x4 in bad weather but my little Corolla managed the roads with no issue. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a little weekend getaway!

Beautiful quaint cottage located high up in the rolling hills outside of Front Royal - great view from the screened in back porch; two bedrooms (one with bunk beds) and a beautiful wood paneled upstairs loft. The road in / up is a bit tricky - all wheel drive cars would be best especially in rainy or snowy weather. Host was great in terms of communication and helpfulness. Highly recommended!

This was overall a great experience! My only suggestion for guests is to bring slippers and sweaters because the main room and kitchen were so cold even though we brought blankets and socks. We were prepared but it never warmed up. The rooms were fine thankfully! Some heating lamps would make this a perfect stay! Tony was a great communicator.

Tony’s cabin is a gem! Great location, lovely property, great for a cozy weekend away. We arrived at night and in a snowstorm but by morning neighborhood roads were cleared and we had such a wonderful weekend. Super easy check in, great communication. Would definitely return!

Tony’s place was great! It was a tad chilly but just make sure to close the sunroom door so the cold air doesn’t come in through the screen and the whole place will be warmer. But I LOVED THIS STAY!
