Great rural cottage. The hosts have extremely well documented everything about the place for easy reference. Cottage is well stocked with heaters, and A/C for any weather. Sun porch is a great extra here. The only downside is you are expected to dispose of your own trash and recycling at a nearby waste station. Which was understandable, given the challenges of the area.

Overall, the place was fine. It wasn’t as clean as we expected at first, but Tony responded right away, apologized, and addressed it. We still had a lovely getaway, and Tony was great with communication and very welcoming.

Our stay at the Sweet Pea Cottage was amazing! It is the perfect location to do a day trip to Shenandoah National Park. The hot tub was a great addition to look forward to after a long day of hiking! Tony was very attentive and made sure our stay went perfect. We will definitely stay again if we venture our way back to Virginia! Thank you Tony & Blue Maple!

Our stay was great for a weekend getaway. The area was beautiful (although the description is true of the roads getting there, little bit of a rough terrain). The house was clean, had great water pressure, and the amenities were nice! Tony and the team were also very responsive.

We enjoyed our time at this cabin retreat. The space was a good size for 2 adults and 2 small kids (they really loved the bunk beds). The cabin is situated well on the property to make it feel really private. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable.
It was a little further from Shenandoah than I anticipated but if you set your expectations correctly, it isn’t terrible.

This stay was very nice. My friend and i came with our young children for a little getaway and hiking. Beautiful area with all you need for a nice outdoorsy getaway. The hottub was nice after hiking all day and the fireplace and grill were definitely a staple to have for our little gals retreat. The host was very responsive when we needed anything.

Tony’s place felt like what AirBnBs used to be (and should be in my opinion). You’re living in a place that’s clearly someone’s home/personal vacation home and all the quirks that comes with it. It’s not luxury or a wannabe hotel and that’s not what it’s supposed to be. It’s a good quaint place to stay without all the hotel prices and hassle.
Only complaint was some of the clearly cut corners on cleaning. My dog’s ball rolled under the couch and it was pretty grumpy under there. There were a couple other things like that.

Tony was very communicative and his place was an amazing little getaway that is secluded and fun. It is near a lot of great wineries and he left a list of places he recommended, which we used for perfect experience. My wife and I may be using this spot again in the future.

This was a very cozy cabin for our 2 night stay near the Shenandoah Valley National Park. We were very comfortable there. The kitchen had everything we needed to make a couple of meals and the hot tub was wonderful!

We enjoyed our time at the cabin. We love this part of Virginia and the cabin is centrally located to get out to Bluemont, Front Royal, Sperryville, etc. in 45 minutes or less. We used the fire pit and hot tub, made full meals in the kitchen, and enjoyed coffee on the enclosed porch. There weren’t any issues with indoor temps, wi-fi, or TV. Just a nice easy check-in/out process, friendly hosts, and a great visit.

This was amazing quick getaway for the end of summer! The hot tub was great for relaxing late at night, and Tony was very responsive and proactive with letting us know what to expect. We would definitely stay here or at another one of Tony’s properties again if the opportunity arose!

Tony was super helpful when we needed it! Easy to check in/out, and such a cute space for the two of us to stay while we visited Shenandoah. The power did go out for about two hours on our last night, but Tony communicated very quickly with us. He was able to check to confirm it was an area outage and let us know when it would be back on. Overall great experience!

Really cozy and peaceful stay. It’s private but not in-the-middle-of-nowhere private so you can get into town and in Shenandoah pretty easily. Tony is an excellent host and is always proactive with trying to make your stay as best as it can be. Would 100% book again if we ever get the chance!

Tony was very helpful and cared about our stay. The house was nice and clean. We unfortunately had an issue with the hot tub, but Tony did what he could to make things right and take care of it. Tony was very responsive and helpful. The location is fairly private, but be aware you must go up a steep gravel drive for a few hundred feet. Overall we would love to stay with Tony again!

We enjoyed our stay! Really nice and peaceful. The only down side was that one of the smoke alarms kept going off and we couldn’t figure out why, it happened during our first night and we dodn’t get much sleep because of that. We enjoyed everything else. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay. It was one of the cleanest places we have stayed at, including the very spacious Hot Tub. So peaceful and very private. The beds were comfortable as was the sofa and chair. The water pressure in the shower was better than any place I’ve been! For a quiet, peaceful getaway, it was perfect. It was just 2 of us, and about 100 degrees, so we didn’t use the loft at all, but the window units did a good job of keeping the downstairs comfortable. This was pretty remote, but close enough to adorable Front Royal, all the parks, and many wineries. The kitchen is pretty sparsely equipped, so I wouldn’t plan on cooking much, and I could have wished for more comfortable chairs on the porch, maybe a small table. I also prefer a walkable neighborhood, which this was not. All in all, this place delivered and I would stay here again if we were in the area.

The water did go out but I think that happens in the area (my family that lives there had issiues that week also) I wish there was window coverings on the porch entrance as well. The perfect getaway for just my husband and I! Although there was plenty of room if we wanted to bring our 2 kids along as well. We found some great antiques downtown and plenty of great places to eat! We would love to stay again if we venture to that part of the state again!

Loved the Airbnb and we enjoyed our stay. It looked exactly like the picture and I would definitely come back here again. My only issue was that during our two overnight stay we had very little access to water. It was impossible to shower or wash our hands at sometime. However, Tony was super responsive and has provided us a partial refund for that inconvenience.

Tony’s place is a true gem! If you’re looking for a get-away in the Virginia countryside, this is your place. Unfortunately, there was no lake access during our stay – check with Tony before if this is important for you (was for us). All else was exactly as described.

Tony went out of his way to clearly communicate. He was very responsive when we had any questions. He offered many suggestions for things to do in the area.
His beautiful place had many extra amenities. The bathroom had soap, body lotion, shampoos, and plenty of clean comfortable towels. The kitchen was also stocked with extras such as spices to cook with and barbecue tools. Even the dishes matched the decorative theme throughout the home.
The amazing clean hot tub was strong and hot. The place was private, quiet, clean, and beautifully decorated. The sunroom was a great place to relax and hear the birds. The bed was very comfortable.
The fire pit was relaxing.
The only draw back
Was that there wasn’t a direct view of the mountain from the property but you could see the mountain range across the street.

Tony’s place was the perfect retreat. I took my wife on a little getaway for her birthday and this place couldn’t have been better. The close proximity to so much hiking, wine tasting, fantastic restaurants and of course star gazing was perfect. We got excellent use out of the hot tub and fire pit, if you need wood Jim’s country store about 10 minutes away had a great selection for an affordable price. Also, while in the area Mary’s rock hike in Shenandoah NP provided a breathtaking view of the Virginia landscape. Thank you Tony for an excellent stay.

We needed a quiet place to crash that was quiet, dog-friendly, clean and comfortable and this place met all of that criteria. It’s quite secluded and cozy, but there are neighbors right across the road and you don’t feel too isolated. Beautiful drives to and from. Downtown Front Royal is only about a 20-minute drive from the place and there are nice restaurants, as well as some cute retail shops. I wouldn’t rely on the nearest grocery store, but it might suit others’ needs better. Super easy to get in, easy instructions to follow on the way out. Tony is friendly, accommodating and is very responsive. It was a really easy drive to Shenandoah National Park. Thanks, Tony!

Loved the sunroom in the trees! Perfect morning coffee spot. Bed was very comfortable, kitchen well equipped, and quiet street.

1000am check out, the couch isn't comfortable to sit on and watch TV, had to figure out which light switches went to what, and would love to have luggage stands (foldable ones are perfect) in the bedrooms. Luckily it was just the two of us so we used the bunk beds.

We had such a wonderful stay! The house was very clean and cozy! We spent most of our time hiking in the National Park, but we used the hot tub in the evenings and we were very grateful to have it! The house is about 20 minutes outside of town, so be prepped to add roughly 20 mins on to any excursions, but the remote location is worth it!
The loft area with the beanbag chairs was a very cool addition as well!

Really beautiful mountain cabin/home. Gorgeous sunsets from the porch and evenings spent in the hot tub were fantastic. No issues whatsoever – this was perfect for a little work from home retreat (great wifi and working spaces!).
We topped off our stay with visits to local restaurants, farms, and markets. Spectacular!

The host was friendly and responsive. The air Bnb is actually quite nice. I must've picked a bad time to go because it was not well maintained from the previous user(s):
- The sunroom has several windows over a beautiful view. But 2 of them were missing. One fallen down the hill and broken and the other had been placed or fall on the walkway. Given that it was 40 degrees and windy, the sunroom area was completely unusable
- The grill had 2/2 empty propane tanks. The user guide said if 1 was empty that we could use the other. But the other was empty.
- The hot tub had a few collections of dirt in it. Not enough to prevent me from getting in. But enough to choose to sit on one particular side and not use the jets. And admittedly, less enough that if it wasn't for the above issues, I would've just left it at sending the owner a text and not including it in my review.
- Someone left a pot of oil in the oven
Those things aside, the airbnb INSIDE was very nice.

Hot water didn’t work while we were there, host was nice but slow to respond for resolution. All guest received bed bug bites, and unit smelled like smoke. Definitely would pick other places to stay.

- First thing I noticed was that the fire place in the living room is for decorative use only. In the photos, it shows a lit fireplace, but when I arrived there is a sign stating not to use it because it is for decorative use only and no fires can be lit. There was no where stated that the fireplace was for decorative use only. I like to light a fire especially when I travel from a place that we never light fires, and a fireplace is something I look for in a place. The photos were misleading showing a fire lit, but I could not use it.
- The furniture in the main bedroom was completely different. The bed was different than the photos and the bed was extremely low for my tall husband.
- The picture of the bathroom looked nice but when we arrived the towel holder was broken and the shower had mold in it. We were only given 3 towels for 3 nights for 3 people. There was no hot water and I wrote the owner about it and he said that he would speak to his handyman but no one contacted me about it afterward. My family and I had to take cold showers in 60 degree weather including my 3 year old son.
- In the photos, the floors look shiny and newer but they were old. The rugs were folded up and old looking as well.
- We were told that there would be bugs which is expected and they try their best to keep them out but the amount of stink bugs was ridiculous. They didn’t have anything to prevent any bugs. I could not even enjoy the bean bag on the patios because it was filled with bugs.
- They state they want us to dry the dishes before leaving but there were no hand towels left for us , only 1 roll of cheap paper towels to dry the dishes.
- We had to dump our own trash which is fine but our check out was on a Wednesday. The place to dump our trash in the neighborhood is closed on Wednesdays and so we were forced to keep our trash bags in our car until we found a place to dump it.
- There is no where to put our clothes. The closets were locked.

This was amazing quick getaway for the end of summer! The hot tub was great for relaxing late at night, and Tony was very responsive and proactive with letting us know what to expect. We would definitely stay here or at another one of Tony’s properties again if the opportunity arose!

Absolutely beautiful location. Very quiet neighborhood on top of that mountain. Front Royal was a cool little area with great restaurants. Very close to Skyline Drive. Highly recommend!

Tony was super helpful when we needed it! Easy to check in/out, and such a cute space for the two of us to stay while we visited Shenandoah. The power did go out for about two hours on our last night, but Tony communicated very quickly with us. He was able to check to confirm it was an area outage and let us know when it would be back on. Overall great experience!

Really cozy and peaceful stay. It’s private but not in-the-middle-of-nowhere private so you can get into town and in Shenandoah pretty easily. Tony is an excellent host and is always proactive with trying to make your stay as best as it can be. Would 100% book again if we ever get the chance!

Tony was very helpful and cared about our stay. The house was nice and clean. We unfortunately had an issue with the hot tub, but Tony did what he could to make things right and take care of it. Tony was very responsive and helpful. The location is fairly private, but be aware you must go up a steep gravel drive for a few hundred feet. Overall we would love to stay with Tony again!

We enjoyed our stay! Really nice and peaceful. The only down side was that one of the smoke alarms kept going off and we couldn't figure out why, it happened during our first night and we dodn't get much sleep because of that. We enjoyed everything else. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay. It was one of the cleanest places we have stayed at, including the very spacious Hot Tub. So peaceful and very private. The beds were comfortable as was the sofa and chair. The water pressure in the shower was better than any place I've been! For a quiet, peaceful getaway, it was perfect. It was just 2 of us, and about 100 degrees, so we didn't use the loft at all, but the window units did a good job of keeping the downstairs comfortable. This was pretty remote, but close enough to adorable Front Royal, all the parks, and many wineries. The kitchen is pretty sparsely equipped, so I wouldn't plan on cooking much, and I could have wished for more comfortable chairs on the porch, maybe a small table. I also prefer a walkable neighborhood, which this was not. All in all, this place delivered and I would stay here again if we were in the area.

The water did go out but I think that happens in the area (my family that lives there had issiues that week also) I wish there was window coverings on the porch entrance as well. Location is semi- close to wineries/breweries. However, the cost for the Airbnb was overpriced for a small space, late check-in/early check-out, and issues with water impacting our stay/satisfaction. Water was turned off 2 hours before we had to check out. This issue occurred while a guest was in the shower. Two people were not able to shower.

The perfect getaway for just my husband and I! Although there was plenty of room if we wanted to bring our 2 kids along as well. We found some great antiques downtown and plenty of great places to eat! We would love to stay again if we venture to that part of the state again!

Loved the Airbnb and we enjoyed our stay. It looked exactly like the picture and I would definitely come back here again. My only issue was that during our two overnight stay we had very little access to water. It was impossible to shower or wash our hands at sometime. However, Tony was super responsive and has provided us a partial refund for that inconvenience.

Tony's place is a true gem! If you're looking for a get-away in the Virginia countryside, this is your place. Unfortunately, there was no lake access during our stay - check with Tony before if this is important for you (was for us). All else was exactly as described.

Tony went out of his way to clearly communicate. He was very responsive when we had any questions. He offered many suggestions for things to do in the area.
His beautiful place had many extra amenities. The bathroom had soap, body lotion, shampoos, and plenty of clean comfortable towels. The kitchen was also stocked with extras such as spices to cook with and barbecue tools. Even the dishes matched the decorative theme throughout the home.
The amazing clean hot tub was strong and hot. The place was private, quiet, clean, and beautifully decorated. The sunroom was a great place to relax and hear the birds. The bed was very comfortable.
The fire pit was relaxing.
The only draw back
Was that there wasn’t a direct view of the mountain from the property but you could see the mountain range across the street.

Tony’s place was the perfect retreat. I took my wife on a little getaway for her birthday and this place couldn’t have been better. The close proximity to so much hiking, wine tasting, fantastic restaurants and of course star gazing was perfect. We got excellent use out of the hot tub and fire pit, if you need wood Jim’s country store about 10 minutes away had a great selection for an affordable price. Also, while in the area Mary’s rock hike in Shenandoah NP provided a breathtaking view of the Virginia landscape. Thank you Tony for an excellent stay.

We needed a quiet place to crash that was quiet, dog-friendly, clean and comfortable and this place met all of that criteria. It’s quite secluded and cozy, but there are neighbors right across the road and you don’t feel too isolated. Beautiful drives to and from. Downtown Front Royal is only about a 20-minute drive from the place and there are nice restaurants, as well as some cute retail shops. I wouldn’t rely on the nearest grocery store, but it might suit others’ needs better. Super easy to get in, easy instructions to follow on the way out. Tony is friendly, accommodating and is very responsive. It was a really easy drive to Shenandoah National Park. Thanks, Tony!

The space was nice and clean, the only complaints I have was the shower only had hot water for 5 minutes and I could not find the laminated decal for access to the private lakes.

Loved the sunroom in the trees! Perfect morning coffee spot. Bed was very comfortable, kitchen well equipped, and quiet street.
Negative:
1000am check out, the couch isn't comfortable to sit on and watch TV, had to figure out which light switches went to what, and would love to have luggage stands (foldable ones are perfect) in the bedrooms. Luckily it was just the two of us so we used the bunk beds.

Great property; poorly managed.
Arrival/departure instructions specify a 4pm check-in and a non-negotiable 10am checkout, with a fee for being even a minute over. We were denied access to check in until after 4:30 due to “the cleaners still being there.” That’s okay, things happen. Can we get some flexibility at checkout?

Also 00 flex on trash takeout… even tho dump is CLOSED on our checkout day.
Physical house manual states an 11am checkout. Text messages from the host preemptively and unprovoked “reminded” us that checkout is firm at 10 and we will be charged a fee if we’re late. When I pointed out to him the manual says 11, he called me a liar. It took sending a photo of his own house manual to him & STILL no compromise.
We understand humans are not robots and things happen. Maybe try to have a civil conversation first instead of jumping straight to “you’re lying”.

cute little cottage nestled in the woods. nice sun room at the entrance and the attic/loft was a pleasant surprise. fire pit area was cute just rained to much upon or arrival to get the full extent of it.

It was a perfect getaway for my family especially with a hot tube. My 7 year old daughter loved the attic and the bunk bed. Tony was responsive, friendly and mindful!! Best host ever!!

We had such a wonderful stay! The house was very clean and cozy! We spent most of our time hiking in the National Park, but we used the hot tub in the evenings and we were very grateful to have it! The house is about 20 minutes outside of town, so be prepped to add roughly 20 mins on to any excursions, but the remote location is worth it!
The loft area with the beanbag chairs was a very cool addition as well!

Really beautiful mountain cabin/home. Gorgeous sunsets from the porch and evenings spent in the hot tub were fantastic. No issues whatsoever - this was perfect for a little work from home retreat (great wifi and working spaces!).
We topped off our stay with visits to local restaurants, farms, and markets. Spectacular!

We had a great weekend in this cute mountain house! It's a short (20ish min) drive to hiking, vineyards, and downtown Front Royal. The house was very comfortable and Tony was very helpful. Highly recommend!
