What Guests Are Saying About Their Virginia Glamping Stay

Our guests love our properties! Here’s what our recent guests are saying

Nature’s Edge

Great stay and the yurt was such a fun experience; comfortable, clean, and conveniently located. It’s a relaxing stay with a great view, easy to access and located near all the local attractions. Definitely hike Cranny Crow trail at Lost River State Park, and book a glass blowing experience at Dakota Glass, Mack’s Bingo restaurant and the local bakery won’t disappoint either. 10/10 recommend!

The Canopy

We had a wonderful experience at this place. We thoroughly enjoyed the nature the nearby trails, the river and waking up to the sound of birdsong, We were lucky that it rained on our last night, so sleeping to the sound of the rain was something I absolutely loved Overall, the cabin has everything you need, so I recommend it if you want to get away from the city noise and take a few days to breathe some fresh air.

Aurora

Took my wife here for a quick one night getaway for Mother’s Day. The place was great. Looked just like the pictures and more. The bubble tent was truly an experience and was very unique. Hot tub was clean and properly maintained. Lying down under the stars in the top bed bunk was amazing. If you are looking for a nice quiet space to get away, this is it. We will definitely be coming back.

River Side

Wow – romantic weekend in a box! This is an enchanting slice of heaven! Tony was awesome and very responsive! And watching the Stars while in the hot tub with a fire – perfect!!! We will be back!

Orion

The glamping experience was absolutely beautiful! It was great to really reconnect in nature – we grilled, built a fire, and were mesmerized by the view. The kitchen was full stocked, which was great for cooking! The furniture was very nice and I can’t say enough good things about the architecture.

Serenity Base

The perfect place for a quiet and laidback getaway. The views from inside the dome and the hot tub are stunning. Very rural area and not much going on which was just what we were looking for. The property was easy to find and everything was great. We will definitely be back for another visit!

Discover What’s Around Your Glamping Dome or Tiny Cabin Stay

Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive

Skyline Drive runs 105 miles along the Blue Ridge with more than 70 valley overlooks, and Shenandoah National Park surrounds it with hundreds of miles of trails for every ability level. Wildlife sightings are common, crowds are manageable outside of peak weekends, and your Blue Maple dome or tiny cabin puts you right at the edge of it all. No tent stakes required.

Luray Caverns and Natural Attractions

Luray Caverns is the largest cave system in the East, worth a few hours on its own and easy to pair with a morning on Skyline Drive. The wider region also offers Natural Bridge State Park, Seneca Rocks, Blackwater Falls in West Virginia, and plenty of waterfall trails and swimming holes within a short drive of your property.

Wineries and Breweries

The northern Shenandoah Valley is one of Virginia’s best wine corridors. Linden Vineyards, Rappahannock Cellars, and Bluestone Vineyard are all strong options. Prefer beer? Alesatian Brewing in Front Royal and Shenandoah Valley Brewing in Staunton are both worth an afternoon stop before heading back to enjoy the fire pit.

Day Trips Worth Taking

Front Royal is minutes away with easy park access and a walkable downtown worth exploring. Staunton, an hour south, punches above its weight with excellent restaurants and the American Shakespeare Center. Charlottesville and Monticello are about an hour southeast. Harpers Ferry, WV makes a natural second-day add-on for history lovers and river enthusiasts, and it’s a great anchor point if you’re staying on the West Virginia side.

Where to Eat

In Luray, the Artisans Grill is a reliable go-to for lunch or dinner with locally sourced food. In Front Royal, Apartment 2G handles cocktails and comfort food well. Woodstock’s Spring House Tavern is set in a historic building and worth the short drive. For a bigger night out, Staunton’s Mill Street Grill and Zynodoa are both strong choices.

Frequently Asked Questions About Glamping in Virginia and West Virginia

What’s the difference between a glamping dome and a tiny cabin at Blue Maple?

Both give you that close-to-nature feeling with none of the roughing it. Glamping domes tend to offer a more immersive outdoor experience, often with panoramic views and a more open, airy feel. Tiny cabins lean into rustic charm with a more traditional cabin layout. Either way, you’re getting real beds, cozy linens, a kitchenette, air conditioning, a fire pit, a picnic table, and in many properties a hot tub. The vibe is different. The comfort level is the same.

How far are Blue Maple’s properties from Washington D.C.?

The Luray and Front Royal area sits about 75 to 90 miles from D.C., roughly 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. You can leave after work on Friday and be roasting marshmallows before the sun goes down. From Northern Virginia, it’s often under 90 minutes. West Virginia properties vary by location, and our team is happy to help you find the right fit based on where you’re driving from.

What time of year is best for glamping in Virginia and West Virginia?

Every season has something going for it. Fall brings peak foliage on Skyline Drive from mid-October through early November, and the West Virginia mountains put on just as good a show. Spring is ideal for waterfalls and wildflowers with smaller crowds. Summer evenings outside around a fire pit are hard to beat. Winter stays are quiet, scenic, and surprisingly popular with guests who want total peace and solitude. Properties are available year-round.

Are glamping domes and tiny cabins a good option for families with kids?

They’re one of the best. Kids love the novelty of staying in a dome or a tucked-away cabin, and parents love having a real home base with air conditioning, a kitchenette, and outdoor space to spread out. Hot tubs, fire pits, picnic tables, and easy access to hiking and natural attractions make these stays a hit with guests of all ages.
