Place was nice— it’s in a golf community but we had privacy. Loved the fire pit and grill, but the hosts ask that you bring your own firewood. Everything looked like the photos, but the outside areas could certainly use a more thorough clean and a final sweep— there was leftover trash and cobwebs on and around the patio. Kitchen could also definitely use an upgrade— many of the utensils and appliances are old and some not usable. Hosts were super responsive and check in was easy. We overall had a nice, relaxing stay.

This cabin was perfect for our anniversary. We the resort offers a ton for guests (there was a concert on the lake while we were there), and you are within close proximity to some amazing hiking and to deep creek. 10/10 would recommend and likely will rent again next time we are looking for a weekend getaway.

Beautiful area and GREAT vacation with my husband and kids. Swallow Falls is amazing. We fished, swam at the beach, and kayaked at Alpine Lake and ate at the resort restaurant and everything was awesome! VERY friendly people everywhere we went. Maryland is a 10 minute drive and we visited Deep Creek Lake and Oakland as well. Baja Tacos was AWESOME!
THERE ARE BEARS! They are harmless but they love the trash! HAHAHA cute as can be also!

Only recommendation would be to upgrade kitchen furniture, and pots and pans. Kitchen island is unstable and some of the chairs were wobbly but they stood strong! 😆

The cabin is older, but still very inviting and comfortable. Everything was clean and ready for guests. All the instructions about the house were very clear and simple to follow. We enjoyed the beautiful surroundings, especially the evening serenade of a pair of owls in the woods!

Very cute small cabin in a really great area. The lake was gorgeous we went for a walk. We played mini golf and went swimming. The yard was great for relaxing. It was clean the only issue was the downstairs shower wasn’t working but we were only there for a very short stay and they were very quick to respond when we let them know.

We’re so glad we chose this cabin as our little getaway. Everything was clean, appealing, and comfortable. Didn’t have any issues at all with the wi-fi or any issues period matter of fact. We enjoyed a nice weekend away from the city! The cabin is on a small golf resort and my husband loved the security and gate for check in. The home was on a small street at the back of the resort with a neighbor or two but had a nice size yard, fire pit and patio to sit on. We took a day trip to deep creek to eat and enjoy a massage and it was a reasonable drive. The owner check in on us at check in and after our first night. The home was very clean and beds were comfortable. We had no issues with wifi and enjoyed the Roku tv in the evening. Lots of deer in the yard in the night and mornings.

Although I was staying for a business trip and didn’t plan on anything but a place to lay my head for the night. This home was just that, it made me feel comfortable and safe from the moment I stepped foot in the door. Nothing was out of place. Everything was clean and spotless. The atmosphere was like I was walking into my own home. I will definitely be back. Thank you for thinking of everything I needed and many other small items that I wouldn’t have thought I may need but was there, just in case!

2 of the heaters were not working upon arrival. Notified owner next morning. Was told they were contacting maintenance. Never received any updates, nor were heaters fixed during my stay. There were high winds & cold temps. the living/kitchen area was uncomfortably cold.
Had the heat been fixed in a timely fashion, it would have been a great stay.

I had a great time staying here! My hosts were very communicative and the cabin is as advertised. I went for peace and quiet and that is what I got. I would recommend this place for 2-4 people looking to play some early fall golf and fish. If you are bringing kids or looking for a lot of convenient local activities, the area isn’t for you. The lodge’s prices for food and drinks were high so bring your own. On the positive side, the cabin was so cozy I didn’t want to leave. Unfortunately, due to the time of year, it hadn’t snowed to be able to snowboarding or skiing but the first day was warm enough to play golf comfortably.

Our stay at the Robins Nest went great! The house was clean and cozy. We brought along our 2 dogs and they loved watching the deer and wildlife from the front door. Tony was very communicative and friendly.

Tony & Blue Maples place, was a wonderful escape to the woods. Our dog felt very comfortable and loved the backyard space. The fire pit was so much fun, nicely set up with chairs. There was plenty options of rooms and beds to choose from. Both bathrooms were great. And the shower upstairs had good water pressure and hot water. Kitchen space worked out good for us, has all the essentials you need. Living room/tv area was okay. Couch could be improved, space and comfort were not great. The three decks (upstairs, back yard and steps out front) need improvement. Especially when it’s raining, slippery. Plenty of space in the drive way. The amenities of staying in the Alpine resorts are a very nice feature. We were hoping for kayaking on the lake, but according to the lodge it was done for the season. The house manual says it goes until October, so if you want to go kayaking in the last week/weekend of September bring your own kayak. Great communication with the host. Very helpful.

The cottage was wonderful on the inside. The outside, not so much. We know the weather with rain was not great, but the back deck was gross and had bad stairs. Like not complete stairs. There was also winter shovels and a bucket of something that should not have been there. Like I said, it was a cute cottage but the outside was not comforting.

Great cabin!
Snowed quite a lot while we were there. The main road for the resort was plowed early the next morning. Tried to get out of the court that the cabin is on in our all wheel-drive SUV and could not do to the snow. We just so happened to see a snow truck driving by and asked if they would plow the road and they did. Otherwise, if you’re coming up without a 4-wheel drive truck and it’s going to snow, I wouldn’t plan on getting out early.

We needed a place to stay at Alpine Lake for an event. This house was the only one available that met our needs and the host did an excellent job of communicating. It had everything we needed for our weekend stay. The house is much older than it appears from the pictures. This was our third trip to Alpine Lake within the past year. Unfortunately this was our least favorite house. Compared to the other houses in the same community, this was the most expensive but didn’t feel like it should’ve been. The house itself is very old and while there were renovations, they were not done in a professional manner. The air units were sealed with packing tape, the toilet felt like it was going to slide off of the floor, and the floor upstairs and staircase felt very unstable. However, despite those things, the house was clean and the decor was well done. Nice house but the price was too steep.

A beautiful and quiet place to stay. The place was clean and really well taken care of when we arrived. Had everything we needed and the resort Lake was honestly so much fun! And a beautiful drive to deep Creek and other surrounding towns! I definitely recommend it and would stay there again!

The place was absolutely perfectly for a long weekend getaway with our kids. Tony gave great instructions and check-in was a breeze. There were plenty of towels and even kids’ soap in the showers. The kids loved their room and said their beds were super comfy. They built fairy gardens in the wooded yard and we made smores in the fire pit. We used the grill and kitchen to prepare most meals and everything worked fine.
We went to nearby parks (we highly recommend Swallow Falls State Park and also visited the West Virginia Botanic Garden) and did not use the resort amenities during our stay. The WiFi worked well, but cell service inside the house was pretty much non-existent (which Tony had told us about ahead of time). This wasn’t a huge deal, as we just stepped outside if we needed to make a call or used an App.
Tony was a great host and left good instructions. We had everything we needed and was very clean on arrival. We’d definitely stay there again

Our family recently enjoyed a delightful stay at a cozy cabin nestled in a serene, wooded area. It was the peaceful retreat we were looking for, with all the comforts of home. The cabin’s rustic ambiance and thoughtful design made it easy to relax. Our host, Tony, was incredibly welcoming and attentive, promptly responding to messages and ensuring we had everything we needed. One memorable moment was a black bear visit on our second night! While thrilling, it was a reminder of the importance of proper garbage disposal to avoid such encounters. The resort’s restaurant, with its stunning views, was another highlight. The meals were good, and the convenience of dining nearby enhanced our stay. Though we loved our time, a few areas could use some TLC. The cabin’s exterior needed cleaning, and some trees around the cabin appeared hazardous. Inside, the kitchen island and back porch furniture needed repairs. Despite these issues, we had a fantastic time and highly recommend the cabin.

We felt instantly relaxed. The property is quiet and a really great place to go to unwind. We spent our time cooking, enjoying the fire pit and hiking.

This was a great weekend cabin getaway location. There ended up being 6 of us stay and our dog and we had plenty of room and the cabin was very clean. This was the perfect getaway for our family (three kids plus a dog). Our kids really enjoyed the cabin itself, but also the indoor pool and gameroom at the lake. Napping with the rain on the roof was amazing, and our dog really loved going on walks in the woods.

This cabin was the perfect spot for a getaway! Its quiet and serene atmosphere created a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The backyard was perfect for our german shepherd to run around and play fetch.
Tony’s communication was proactive, clear, and he always responded in a timely manner. We had a great experience and would go back!

Tony was a very communicative host; before, during, and after our stay. He gave recommendations for everything you could have questions for. The airbnb is in a great spot, once you get out the driveway you get an amazing view of the lake which in my opinion is the best way to start any morning. Unfortunately, the weather was bad when we went but that didn’t stop us from enjoying our stay. We will be returning for warmer days as this spot is a hidden gem. 10/10 recommend!

Tony’s place is great. If you stay there you get to feel what life in the mountains is like, but with all the conveniences of a well-equipped home. The cabin is surrounded by trees, and if you walk downhill for a little, you get rewarded with great a great view of Alpine Lake. Tony is very responsive and made sure that we had everything we needed. I hope to stay there again in the future.

Nice place for a last minute getaway. Great parks nearby and lovely surroundings. The place is comfortable and peaceful. Only ding was the cleanliness. There were some dishes that had been put away dirty, what looked like cigarette burns on the couch, and other relatively minor issues. Not enough to ruin the weekend or anything, but noticeable.

Great stay in Alpine Lake. We came in the off-season so it was nice and quiet, really beautiful and peaceful.
Cabin is well laid out and has everything you’d need. Will plan to return in the summer to check out the rest of the resort amenities.

Cabin was not clean upon entry. We were traveling with small children and had to clean the space before we felt comfortable letting them play. Not a ton of local attractions but hiking trails in MD were fun and not too far of a drive. Fire pit was the perfect way to relax after a day of hiking!

Fun cabin in the woods near beautiful lake. Cabin is 10 min walk or short drive from playground or boat rental and club house. We used the pool at the lodge but had issues with our pool pass (included) which was easily resolved by friendly staff. Tony was very responsive and gave recommendations for local restaurants which are about 20min drive to closest. The community lodge has a decent restaurant if you don’t want to drive. Didn’t get to fish but they do stock the lake. All in all a good spot if your looking for a cabin off the beaten path with amenities around.

Overall we had a good stay at Tony’s place, only booked for one night, so didn’t have a chance to fully explore the area.
The cabin is as described, appx 5 min drive from Alpine lake, check-in process was very smooth.
Inside the house looks nice, but not the cleanest. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher, the trash can was dirty on the outside with no trash bag inside.
The kitchen could have been stocked better, we couldn’t find any wine glasses.
Compared to some other well stocked airbnbs we stayed before this felt below average.
Overall a good lake house to stay if you don’t care for those little things.

Great place in the woods. Felt safe with the gated community. The pool at the resort was an added bonus. We ate dinner at the resort and the food was really good and fairly priced. Alpine lake was absolutely gorgeous and the kids loved playing on the beach.
Loved the property! There are chipmunks running everywhere and they were really fun to watch, especially for the kids. We had deer right in the back yard our first night there. Had a very nice fire pit with nice chairs. They provided plenty of towels and toilet paper for the week. It was nice having a washer and dryer so we could come home with no dirty laundry (bring your own detergent).
The owner was responsive and helpful with any concerns or questions we had and checked in the make sure we were comfortable. I Recommend!

The house was comfortable and just what we needed – we were thrilled to be able to bring our dog and he settled in nicely too. Tony was communicative and welcoming, and arrival was very smooth. Unfortunately, the dishwasher had a broken part and the dryer lint filter was very full, so dishes and sheets needed re-washing right away, but Tony was very apologetic and promised to address for future tenants.

Tony was a great host! From the moment we scheduled, we got an email with detailed home and resort information. We knew what to expect before we got there, and planned food accordingly. The house was just enough space for our family and our dog. We loved sitting around the firepit and enjoying the quiet space. The resort was close by and had plenty of amenities to keep us entertained during the day. Close to deep creek, we were able to enjoy the benefits of MD and WV without having to go too far. Tony was a responsive and an attentive host. Will definitely come back!

This place was nice. Your in a nice private community by a lake but the cabin is in a quiet place. Your best option for food is to drive 30 minutes to Oakland, also there great hiking there. Tony was a great host and I enjoyed my stay!

The cabin was great and the area was amazing! It was the perfect balance of feeling like we were getting away from the city while still having things like groceries and restaurants less than 15 minutes away. It was especially nice having the indoor pool just down the road in the main building. The cabin was cozy without feeling small or cramped and had everything we needed. We had an amazing time and would definitely do it again!

Overall great air bnb, the community is private and we felt very safe here. It was a great spot to get away. The air bnb itself was very cozy and comfortable. We drove to Oakland which is about 30 mins most days for food, groceries, hiking, etc. if you bring your dog be sure to look up which areas/restaurants/trails are dog friendly!

Our family, grandparents, parents, our 5 and 6 year old and two four legged friends, had a wonderful stay at Tony’s! Our weekend was filled with fishing at the lake, playing at the playground, putt putt, backyard fire pit and we went for a hike at sparrow falls(which we highly recommend!). Thank you tony for letting us use your cabin to escape the chaos of life, even if it was just for the weekend!

The Robin’s nest is a great secluded place to stay. Very spacious and with great backyard. Just keep in mind is all covered by trees and vegetation, so not much sunlight gets there. At least by the end of August when we visited. The host was very attentive and was very fast sending responses and making sure the place was ready for us. Even though we didn’t have the best of luck with weather, it didn’t stop us from enjoying all the outdoor activities that the place has to offer. Our favorite activities were fishing and spending time at the private beach in the complex. Make sure to bring groceries and any items you might need right away as the closest full supermarket is in Oakland (about 30 min away). We also liked the proximity to Deep Creek Lake area for dinner and ice cream options.

Great way to recharge with friends! Definitely make time to visit the lake, rent a canoe/kayak or paddle board and venture around – you can even take it to the beach. It’s an absolute blast!
(If you’re lucky, ask locals for secret spots and you might find gems around the community.)
If anyone here wants to venture outside the property, and swim around waterfalls, check out Swallow Falls State Park. It is $3 per MD resident and $5 per non-MD resident. Make a day trip out of it, you will not regret it!
Anyways, my friends and I had a lovely time. Tony’s a great host, and always on point if you ever have any questions. 👍👍

We stayed over one night in this charming cabin, even got to enjoy a dip in the lake before thunderstorm & tornado warnings in the area! Unfortunately that meant we could not utilize the fire pit, but luckily the nastier weather stayed north of us & it was just a peaceful rainy night at the lake! The beds were comfortable & the AC wall units kept the cabin a nice temperature. It was nice to be able to refresh our cross-country road trip laundry, plus we enjoyed all the small touches & amenities throughout. We pretty much had everything we needed & wish we could’ve stayed longer to enjoy more of the lake and outdoor activities. This is a WV wooded area, so of course the bugs are plenty…but everything in the cabin was clean & fresh. Tony’s communication & instructions were excellent, even later when reporting a lost item that we thought we left behind in the fridge, that has so far not been found:( So, for future stays…if any of you happen to find a teal hydro flask water bottle with a bunch of stickers on it, please reach out to Tony, we would love to be reunited with it as it’s a sentimental item to us!

Nice stay, but the listing needs clarification: This house is good for 2 couples and 2 singles/kids max; there are 2 queens and 2 twin beds only (not doubles as listed). There are 2 bedrooms and an open loft area. The private beach/lake in the listing is 15min walk (0.7miles) to the community Alpine Lake Boat Dock and Picnic Spot.

If your family loves the great outdoors, this is the place for you! Access to a beautiful private beach and swimming, kayaking/paddle boating is awesome. The backyard is perfect for summer nights: roasting s’mores and chasing fireflies. All of the rooms are so spacious! Our daughter even did a little indoor camping in our pop up tent in the big bedroom. Amenities are great. Kitchen is sufficient for meals at home and you’re still within a thirty minute drive of local restaurants. The house manual is a great guide to your entire stay and the host is so gracious and helpful. We can’t wait to come back!

The cabin was so adorable! The fact that there was a guard shack made me feel safe staying there. The only downside is there are almost no food options nearby. My family is vegetarian and finding food was a real challenge. I also assumed the lake was closer to the cabin than it actually was. Overall I was highly satisfied and would go back again

Nice cozy little cabin to get away. Lake access is less than a 5 min drive. we were thankful that the cabin was pet friendly. we got to bring our puppy and he enjoyed his time as much as we did. Eating out is a 20 min drive. There is a grocery store about 10 min away that does have everything you need and there is a grill on the deck. Tony was definitely attentive and reached out during our stay. I’ll definitely be back.

This is a charming cabin in a beautiful area. You are secluded but close enough to the lodge to access all of their amenities. The cabin is well maintained and has all of the basic necessities your would need. We loved the fire pit and the access to many hiking spots close by. The house manual was full of useful information and Tony was always available for any questions or concerns. We would return in a heartbeat!

Definitely would stay again. Great location, private, and food isn’t too far away if you need to visit the ole Shop & Save.
Only thing I would bring up is that the house is very loft-like—meaning you can hear what’s going on in all the rooms no matter where you are in the home. We have an infant, so it’s a positive our case.
Also, Tony was very responsive. Check in was a piece of cake. If you’re looking at this place, go on and book it!

When i first stumbled upon this cabin on AirBnB, it seemed almost too good to be true. There must be a catch! But everything was as perfect as it seemed online. Tony is the most thoughtful, gracious host.

We booked this place for a short vacation for the first time in two years! The place was immaculately clean when we arrived, and was extremely spacious for two people! It was definitely cold and iced over, but we got to build a fire outback and the a/c heating was fast and warm. Tony was an incredible host reaching out every opportunity he could to make sure we were having the best stay! Would definitely come back in warmer weather to truly appreciate the lake and other amenities!

We loved staying in this cabin over the holidays! It was quiet and felt remote, even though it is only a few minutes drive from a small grocery store and about 30 minutes from Deep Creek Lake. We had a few wildlife sightings (deer and wild turkey), but we did hear a critter on the roof/in the walls, which is to be expected in a country cabin. We had just about everything we needed to cook our Christmas Dinner, but we’d recommend bringing an extra frying pan and Tupperware if you plan to cook large meals. Keep in mind most of the plates and bowls are made of plastic, so we brought our own paper plates to use. The heat worked great, and the cabin was tastefully decorated (the couch and seating comfortably fit 4 adults and 2 small dogs, but you may not fit more than that). The beds were made of some type of foam and quite comfortable, and the sheets/bedding/towels provided were great. Tony was excellent at communicating (even over a holiday weekend), and we’d book with him again in a heart beat. Thanks for making our holiday special!

Alpine Lake is a great easy-living retreat for anyone especially for families and this cabin is ideally located to take advantage of its amenities. Quiet home situated inside a resort community. Enjoy a large yard , easy access to a small but clean beach, playground and other resort amenities. Very relaxing. Tony was wonderful in communication before and during our visit. We are looking forward to returning! We arrived before the leaves turned but I imagine that the foliage would be spectacular! Great roads from D.C. to the resort and quite close to Swallowtail Falls for a great hike.

We had an amazing time at Tony’s cute little cabin at Alpine Lake! We especially appreciated that the home was dog-friendly and that we could access resort amenities like the indoor pool, beach, kayak rentals, amazing dog park, and appreciated very much that it was gated and secure. We also really appreciated all the great communications from our host. Tony checked in with us several times and made sure we had all the information we needed! The cabin was well-equipped and had plenty of room for our family of four + 2 hound dogs. My favorite thing was sleeping in the upstairs bedroom with the screened sliding door open and listening to the owls, rustling leaves, and breathing in the cool night air… it was good for our souls! The chairs out by the fire pit weren’t as pictured and I wish we would have brought paper plates (most of the dishes were plastic and were a little inconvenient to wash) but other than those two little things, everything was perfect! We’d love to come back to Alpine Lake – just an hour from Morgantown and SO wonderful! When we do, we’ll check on Tony’s listing first and we also hope to visit some of the other venues where he has properties – the little details like cute decor, cozy blankets, great wi-fi, and streaming TV kept the whole family happy. Thanks again for a much-needed break from life, Tony! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Sweet, quiet cabin. Lots of sleeping space for a single family. Great fire pit. The community swimming/beach area is a short drive or longer stroll down the hill and was beautiful and delightful. Not many options for food etc in the nearby area but Tony was helpful in offering suggestions and very responsive.
Travelers should be aware that while the Alpine Lake community was comfortable and quiet, if you venture anywhere outside of community grounds, you will see confederate flags and MAGA signs everywhere. Not exactly a surprise but as a multiracial family, this made us feel nervous and we limited our ventures in response.

Had to find a family and pet friendly place short notice and this place accommodated those needs well. It has a more camp feel and vibe than house. Some deferred maintenance. Good size for our family of 5. Location is nice, surrounded by trees, and fairly private. Didn’t have enough time to explore what other activities are available to do but seems like a great destination for a more all-inclusive experience.

Place was nice— it’s in a golf community but we had privacy. Loved the fire pit and grill, but the hosts ask that you bring your own firewood. Everything looked like the photos, but the outside areas could certainly use a more thorough clean and a final sweep— there was leftover trash and cobwebs on and around the patio. Kitchen could also definitely use an upgrade— many of the utensils and appliances are old and some not usable. Hosts were super responsive and check in was easy. We overall had a nice, relaxing stay.

We the resort offers a ton for guests (there was a concert on the lake while we were there), and you are within close proximity to some amazing hiking and to deep creek. 10/10 would recommend and likely will rent again next time we are looking for a weekend getaway.

Beautiful area and GREAT vacation with my husband and kids. Swallow Falls is amazing. We fished, swam at the beach, and kayaked at Alpine Lake and ate at the resort restaurant and everything was awesome! VERY friendly people everywhere we went. Maryland is a 10 minute drive and we visited Deep Creek Lake and Oakland as well. Baja Tacos was AWESOME!

We enjoyed a nice weekend away from the city! The cabin is on a small golf resort and my husband loved the security and gate for check in. The home was on a small street at the back of the resort with a neighbor or two but had a nice size yard, fire pit and patio to sit on. We took a day trip to deep creek to eat and enjoy a massage and it was a reasonable drive. The owner check in on us at check in and after our first night. The home was very clean and beds were comfortable. We had no issues with wifi and enjoyed the Roku tv in the evening. Lots of deer in the yard in the night and mornings.

Although I was staying for a business trip and didn’t plan on anything but a place to lay my head for the night. This home was just that, it made me feel comfortable and safe from the moment I stepped foot in the door. Nothing was out of place. Everything was clean and spotless. 2 of the heaters were not working upon arrival. Notified owner next morning. Was told they were contacting maintenance. Never received any updates, nor were heaters fixed during my stay. There were high winds & cold temps. the living/kitchen area was uncomfortably cold.
Had the heat been fixed in a timely fashion, it would have been a great stay.

I had a great time staying here! My hosts were very communicative and the cabin is as advertised. I went for peace and quiet and that is what I got. I would recommend this place for 2-4 people looking to play some early fall golf and fish. If you are bringing kids or looking for a lot of convenient local activities, the area isn’t for you. The lodge’s prices for food and drinks were high so bring your own. On the positive side, the cabin was so cozy I didn’t want to leave. Unfortunately, due to the time of year, it hadn’t snowed to be able to snowboarding or skiing but the first day was warm enough to play golf comfortably.

Tony & Blue Maples place, was a wonderful escape to the woods. Our dog felt very comfortable and loved the backyard space. The fire pit was so much fun, nicely set up with chairs. There was plenty options of rooms and beds to choose from. Both bathrooms were great. And the shower upstairs had good water pressure and hot water. Kitchen space worked out good for us, has all the essentials you need. Living room/tv area was okay. Couch could be improved, space and comfort were not great. The three decks (upstairs, back yard and steps out front) need improvement. Especially when it’s raining, slippery. Plenty of space in the drive way. The amenities of staying in the Alpine resorts are a very nice feature. We were hoping for kayaking on the lake, but according to the lodge it was done for the season. The house manual says it goes until October, so if you want to go kayaking in the last week/weekend of September bring your own kayak. Great communication with the host. Very helpful.

The cottage was wonderful on the inside. The outside, not so much. We know the weather with rain was not great, but the back deck was gross and had bad stairs. Like not complete stairs. The location and amenities were great.
Negative:
When we arrived the two trash bins outside were completely full and trash bag on top of bins. We arrived on Tuesday and management didn’t do anything about the trash even though we stayed until Sunday. so later we had animals at the property including a skunk when returning home after an evening out. The back door to the porch was also broken and no one came out to fix. The pictures provided on this website are old and the property doesn’t look that nice in person. They did the basics to clean inside but it just needs a good spring cleaning, attention to details, replacement of bulbs, power washing outside.

Great cabin!
Snowed quite a lot while we were there. The main road for the resort was plowed early the next morning. Tried to get out of the court that the cabin is on in our all wheel-drive SUV and could not do to the snow. We just so happened to see a snow truck driving by and asked if they would plow the road and they did. Otherwise, if you’re coming up without a 4-wheel drive truck and it’s going to snow, I wouldn’t plan on getting out early.

We needed a place to stay at Alpine Lake for an event. This house was the only one available that met our needs and the host did an excellent job of communicating. It had everything we needed for our weekend stay. The house is much older than it appears from the pictures. This was our third trip to Alpine Lake within the past year. Unfortunately this was our least favorite house. Compared to the other houses in the same community, this was the most expensive but didn’t feel like it should’ve been. The house itself is very old and while there were renovations, they were not done in a professional manner. The air units were sealed with packing tape, the toilet felt like it was going to slide off of the floor, and the floor upstairs and staircase felt very unstable. However, despite those things, the house was clean and the decor was well done. Nice house but the price was too steep.

The best thing about my stay was the location and how responsive the host was. He was extremely friendly, and helpful. However my issue(s) were, the photos provided were clearly outdated considering that wasn’t even the couch that was there. Good bit of paint chips in the kitchen, etc. I noticed a decent amount of human hair hanging from the stairs right above the coffee pot and microwave. That was unsettling to say the least. I definitely don’t feel like the $89.00 cleaning fee was justified to me at all. The kitchen pots and pans were also barely functional/outdated. We occurred an issue with the downstairs bathroom sink because it wouldn’t drain. The host however, was very accommodating and asked if we wanted someone to come and fix it. Decided to wait because we didn’t wanna be disturbed on our stay. The host definitely delivered on the hospitality. There is no discrediting that but as my girlfriend said, “feels like those pictures were 10 years old”. Disappointed for the price.

A beautiful and quiet place to stay. The place was clean and really well taken care of when we arrived. Had everything we needed and the resort Lake was honestly so much fun! And a beautiful drive to deep Creek and other surrounding towns! I definitely recommend it and would stay there again!

The place was absolutely perfectly for a long weekend getaway with our kids. Tony gave great instructions and check-in was a breeze. There were plenty of towels and even kids' soap in the showers. The kids loved their room and said their beds were super comfy. They built fairy gardens in the wooded yard and we made smores in the fire pit. We used the grill and kitchen to prepare most meals and everything worked fine.
We went to nearby parks (we highly recommend Swallow Falls State Park and also visited the West Virginia Botanic Garden) and did not use the resort amenities during our stay. The WiFi worked well, but cell service inside the house was pretty much non-existent (which Tony had told us about ahead of time). This wasn't a huge deal, as we just stepped outside if we needed to make a call or used an App.
Tony was a great host and left good instructions. We had everything we needed and was very clean on arrival. We'd definitely stay there again

Our family recently enjoyed a delightful stay at a cozy cabin nestled in a serene, wooded area. It was the peaceful retreat we were looking for, with all the comforts of home. The cabin's rustic ambiance and thoughtful design made it easy to relax. Our host, Tony, was incredibly welcoming and attentive, promptly responding to messages and ensuring we had everything we needed. One memorable moment was a black bear visit on our second night! While thrilling, it was a reminder of the importance of proper garbage disposal to avoid such encounters. The resort's restaurant, with its stunning views, was another highlight. The meals were good, and the convenience of dining nearby enhanced our stay. Though we loved our time, a few areas could use some TLC. The cabin's exterior needed cleaning, and some trees around the cabin appeared hazardous. Inside, the kitchen island and back porch furniture needed repairs. Despite these issues, we had a fantastic time and highly recommend the cabin.

My husband and I stayed at Tony’s listing for a weekend getaway for our anniversary. We love escaping to the mountains. Tony’s house was clean (compliments) to the cleaning staff.
We felt instantly relaxed. The property is quiet and a really great place to go to unwind. We spent our time cooking, enjoying the fire pit and hiking.

This was a great weekend cabin getaway location. There ended up being 6 of us stay and our dog and we had plenty of room and the cabin was very clean. The location is very peaceful and the outdoor fire pit was great. Tony was very informative of the things to do in the area and we had a overall great experience.

This was the perfect getaway for our family (three kids plus a dog). Our kids really enjoyed the cabin itself, but also the indoor pool and gameroom at the lake. Napping with the rain on the roof was amazing, and our dog really loved going on walks in the woods.

This cabin was the perfect spot for a getaway! Its quiet and serene atmosphere created a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The backyard was perfect for our german shepherd to run around and play fetch.
Tony's communication was proactive, clear, and he always responded in a timely manner. We had a great experience and would go back!

Tony was a very communicative host; before, during, and after our stay. He gave recommendations for everything you could have questions for. The airbnb is in a great spot, once you get out the driveway you get an amazing view of the lake which in my opinion is the best way to start any morning. Unfortunately, the weather was bad when we went but that didn’t stop us from enjoying our stay. We will be returning for warmer days as this spot is a hidden gem. 10/10 recommend!

Much like other reviews - the dishes were all in the dishwasher but were not clean, had to hand wash many of them. There were stains / human hair in 2 sets of bed linens indicating that they were not changed. There were clear efforts to improve the home by the owner - some furnishings were new, nice glassware and dishes but cleaning service is very lacking.

Tony's place is great. If you stay there you get to feel what life in the mountains is like, but with all the conveniences of a well-equipped home. The cabin is surrounded by trees, and if you walk downhill for a little, you get rewarded with great a great view of Alpine Lake. Tony is very responsive and made sure that we had everything we needed. I hope to stay there again in the future.

Love the location and would return! Recommend for beautiful outdoors and a lovely and safe location. We did have some issues - We arrived and there were dirty dishes in dishwasher, and many dishes had been put away with crusty food on them which meant we had to do some cleaning before we could eat. We did get lost on the way because Apple Maps takes you to a chained up fence. We called the number for help and they were rude to us and told us we should have read the manual (we did carefully, just got turned the wrong way with Apple Maps)
We still appreciated the recommendations and the host was nice, just would rather not have to clean someone else’s old food on the plates and pans and would hope for a nicer experience when we got lost.

Overall we loved the stay here it was beautiful scenery and pretty cool cabin in the woods with what’s included! The only problem was the property was not clean upon arrival and the environment/community discriminated/harassed us during our stay making us very uncomfortable the remainder of our stay. I’d suggest when booking here to be very careful of your encounters with people.

Nice place for a last minute getaway. Great parks nearby and lovely surroundings. The place is comfortable and peaceful. Only ding was the cleanliness. There were some dishes that had been put away dirty, what looked like cigarette burns on the couch, and other relatively minor issues. Not enough to ruin the weekend or anything, but noticeable.

Great stay in Alpine Lake. We came in the off-season so it was nice and quiet, really beautiful and peaceful.

Cabin was not clean upon entry. We were traveling with small children and had to clean the space before we felt comfortable letting them play. Not a ton of local attractions but hiking trails in MD were fun and not too far of a drive. Fire pit was the perfect way to relax after a day of hiking!

Great little cabin in a nice location. The reason for 3 stars is how the bedrooms were described. The two beds that are described as "doubles" are single/twin beds: there's no way that two people could sleep in them. Because one of the queen beds is not in a self-contained room (but just at the top of the stairs), it's actually really awkward for two couples. Only one of the self contained rooms has a bed that fits two people, so the second couple has to sleep in the queen bed that's just at the top of the landing and not private. This is totally not what we expected. On top of that, the house was a little grimy and not well cleaned (crumbs and hair on the rugs), and there was no shampoo, conditioner or body wash as advertised so we had to go out specifically to buy that stuff. The kitchen was also very lacking in equipment with just one wine glass, very few glasses and bowls, etc.

Fun cabin in the woods near beautiful lake. Cabin is 10 min walk or short drive from playground or boat rental and club house. We used the pool at the lodge but had issues with our pool pass (included) which was easily resolved by friendly staff. Tony was very responsive and gave recommendations for local restaurants which are about 20min drive to closest. The community lodge has a decent restaurant if you don’t want to drive. Didn’t get to fish but they do stock the lake. All in all a good spot if your looking for a cabin off the beaten path with amenities around.

Overall we had a good stay at Tony’s place, only booked for one night, so didn’t have a chance to fully explore the area.
The cabin is as described, appx 5 min drive from Alpine lake, check-in process was very smooth.
Inside the house looks nice, but not the cleanest. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher, the trash can was dirty on the outside with no trash bag inside.
The kitchen could have been stocked better, we couldn’t find any wine glasses.
Compared to some other well stocked airbnbs we stayed before this felt below average.
Overall a good lake house to stay if you don’t care for those little things.

Great place in the woods. Felt safe with the gated community. The pool at the resort was an added bonus. We ate dinner at the resort and the food was really good and fairly priced. Alpine lake was absolutely gorgeous and the kids loved playing on the beach.
Loved the property! There are chipmunks running everywhere and they were really fun to watch, especially for the kids. We had deer right in the back yard our first night there. Had a very nice fire pit with nice chairs. They provided plenty of towels and toilet paper for the week. It was nice having a washer and dryer so we could come home with no dirty laundry (bring your own detergent).
The owner was responsive and helpful with any concerns or questions we had and checked in the make sure we were comfortable. I Recommend!

The house was comfortable and just what we needed - we were thrilled to be able to bring our dog and he settled in nicely too. Tony was communicative and welcoming, and arrival was very smooth. Unfortunately, the dishwasher had a broken part and the dryer lint filter was very full, so dishes and sheets needed re-washing right away, but Tony was very apologetic and promised to address for future tenants.

Tony was a great host! From the moment we scheduled, we got an email with detailed home and resort information. We knew what to expect before we got there, and planned food accordingly. The house was just enough space for our family and our dog. We loved sitting around the firepit and enjoying the quiet space. The resort was close by and had plenty of amenities to keep us entertained during the day. Close to deep creek, we were able to enjoy the benefits of MD and WV without having to go too far. Tony was a responsive and an attentive host. Will definitely come back!

This cabin was not well taken care of. Very musty smell as soon as you walk in (later figured out it came from the washer/dryer). There were crumbs EVERYWHERE: on the couch, under the couch, on the dining table, on the island. Utensils that were in the drawer were dirty. Not to mention there are what sounded like rodents in the walls upstairs. They’re VERY active in the night.

The cabin was great and the area was amazing! It was the perfect balance of feeling like we were getting away from the city while still having things like groceries and restaurants less than 15 minutes away. It was especially nice having the indoor pool just down the road in the main building. The cabin was cozy without feeling small or cramped and had everything we needed. Overall great air bnb, the community is private and we felt very safe here. It was a great spot to get away. The air bnb itself was very cozy and comfortable. We drove to Oakland which is about 30 mins most days for food, groceries, hiking, etc. if you bring your dog be sure to look up which areas/restaurants/trails are dog friendly!

Our family, grandparents, parents, our 5 and 6 year old and two four legged friends, had a wonderful stay at Tony’s! Our weekend was filled with fishing at the lake, playing at the playground, putt putt, backyard fire pit and we went for a hike at sparrow falls(which we highly recommend!). Thank you tony for letting us use your cabin to escape the chaos of life, even if it was just for the weekend!

The Robin's nest is a great secluded place to stay. Very spacious and with great backyard. Just keep in mind is all covered by trees and vegetation, so not much sunlight gets there. At least by the end of August when we visited. The host was very attentive and was very fast sending responses and making sure the place was ready for us. Even though we didn't have the best of luck with weather, it didn't stop us from enjoying all the outdoor activities that the place has to offer. Our favorite activities were fishing and spending time at the private beach in the complex. Make sure to bring groceries and any items you might need right away as the closest full supermarket is in Oakland (about 30 min away). We also liked the proximity to Deep Creek Lake area for dinner and ice cream options.

Great way to recharge with friends! Definitely make time to visit the lake, rent a canoe/kayak or paddle board and venture around - you can even take it to the beach. It's an absolute blast!
(If you're lucky, ask locals for secret spots and you might find gems around the community.)
If anyone here wants to venture outside the property, and swim around waterfalls, check out Swallow Falls State Park. It is $3 per MD resident and $5 per non-MD resident. Make a day trip out of it, you will not regret it!
Anyways, my friends and I had a lovely time. Tony's a great host, and always on point if you ever have any questions. 👍👍

We stayed over one night in this charming cabin, even got to enjoy a dip in the lake before thunderstorm & tornado warnings in the area! Unfortunately that meant we could not utilize the fire pit, but luckily the nastier weather stayed north of us & it was just a peaceful rainy night at the lake! The beds were comfortable & the AC wall units kept the cabin a nice temperature. It was nice to be able to refresh our cross-country road trip laundry, plus we enjoyed all the small touches & amenities throughout. We pretty much had everything we needed & wish we could’ve stayed longer to enjoy more of the lake and outdoor activities. This is a WV wooded area, so of course the bugs are plenty…but everything in the cabin was clean & fresh. Tony’s communication & instructions were excellent, even later when reporting a lost item that we thought we left behind in the fridge, that has so far not been found:( So, for future stays…if any of you happen to find a teal hydro flask water bottle with a bunch of stickers on it, please reach out to Tony, we would love to be reunited with it as it’s a sentimental item to us!

Nice stay, but the listing needs clarification: This house is good for 2 couples and 2 singles/kids max; there are 2 queens and 2 twin beds only (not doubles as listed). There are 2 bedrooms and an open loft area. The private beach/lake in the listing is 15min walk (0.7miles) to the community Alpine Lake Boat Dock and Picnic Spot.

If your family loves the great outdoors, this is the place for you! Access to a beautiful private beach and swimming, kayaking/paddle boating is awesome. The backyard is perfect for summer nights: roasting s’mores and chasing fireflies. All of the rooms are so spacious! Our daughter even did a little indoor camping in our pop up tent in the big bedroom. Amenities are great. Kitchen is sufficient for meals at home and you’re still within a thirty minute drive of local restaurants. The house manual is a great guide to your entire stay and the host is so gracious and helpful. We can’t wait to come back!

The cabin was so adorable! The fact that there was a guard shack made me feel safe staying there. The only downside is there are almost no food options nearby. My family is vegetarian and finding food was a real challenge. I also assumed the lake was closer to the cabin than it actually was. Overall I was highly satisfied and would go back again

Nice cozy little cabin to get away. Lake access is less than a 5 min drive. we were thankful that the cabin was pet friendly. we got to bring our puppy and he enjoyed his time as much as we did. Eating out is a 20 min drive. There is a grocery store about 10 min away that does have everything you need and there is a grill on the deck. Tony was definitely attentive and reached out during our stay. I'll definitely be back.

This is a charming cabin in a beautiful area. You are secluded but close enough to the lodge to access all of their amenities. The cabin is well maintained and has all of the basic necessities your would need. We loved the fire pit and the access to many hiking spots close by. The house manual was full of useful information and Tony was always available for any questions or concerns. We would return in a heartbeat!

Definitely would stay again. Great location, private, and food isn’t too far away if you need to visit the ole Shop & Save.
Only thing I would bring up is that the house is very loft-like—meaning you can hear what’s going on in all the rooms no matter where you are in the home. We have an infant, so it’s a positive our case.
Also, Tony was very responsive. Check in was a piece of cake. If you’re looking at this place, go on and book it!

We had such a wonderful weekend. The wifi was fast, water was hot, the firepit was so nice. The cabin had so much space. We enjoyed the place even in March, during the off season. Tony checked in on us several times and the style of the place was so enjoyable.

When i first stumbled upon this cabin on AirBnB, it seemed almost too good to be true. There must be a catch! But everything was as perfect as it seemed online. Tony is the most thoughtful, gracious host.
He was very very accommodating,provided us with all the information we needed and always there when need him.The cabin is just Phenomenal.It is compact, clean and contains everything one needs. I would definitely come again and would absolutely recommend to stay there.

We booked this place for a short vacation for the first time in two years! The place was immaculately clean when we arrived, and was extremely spacious for two people! It was definitely cold and iced over, but we got to build a fire outback and the a/c heating was fast and warm. Tony was an incredible host reaching out every opportunity he could to make sure we were having the best stay! Would definitely come back in warmer weather to truly appreciate the lake and other amenities!

This place is very special. Homey, fantastic location and solitude There was a magical snowstorm and I was able to xc ski and snowshoe everywhere, listen to music, work remotely, cook my meals in the tiny kitchen, and sleep well in a cozy bed. Thank you thank you

We loved staying in this cabin over the holidays! It was quiet and felt remote, even though it is only a few minutes drive from a small grocery store and about 30 minutes from Deep Creek Lake. We had a few wildlife sightings (deer and wild turkey), but we did hear a critter on the roof/in the walls, which is to be expected in a country cabin. We had just about everything we needed to cook our Christmas Dinner, but we’d recommend bringing an extra frying pan and Tupperware if you plan to cook large meals. Keep in mind most of the plates and bowls are made of plastic, so we brought our own paper plates to use. The heat worked great, and the cabin was tastefully decorated (the couch and seating comfortably fit 4 adults and 2 small dogs, but you may not fit more than that). The beds were made of some type of foam and quite comfortable, and the sheets/bedding/towels provided were great. Tony was excellent at communicating (even over a holiday weekend), and we’d book with him again in a heart beat. Thanks for making our holiday special!

It was a lovely long weekend at the cabin with the kids. Alpine Lake is a great easy-living retreat for anyone especially for families and this cabin is ideally located to take advantage of its amenities. The lot also provides seclusion and enough space for the kids to explore the surrounding forests with independence while safe.

dog hair left from prior tenant, might have been under furniture and couch was slightly uncomfortable. Wouldn't recommend for a family stay. PERFECT for romantic get away! VERY COZY SPOT!

Great location with a really great host. We were able to walk down to the lake and play at the playground, enjoy the trails around the lake, and head over to the dog park. We would love to head back when there is a bit of snow for sledding!

This is was a lovely little place. I was looking for some peace and quiet in the woods, but not so far out in the woods that I get eaten by a bear. The cabin was clean and well-maintained, the area is peaceful, you're tucked in the woods but close to the resort if you want more than that-- a great value.

A perfect get away! The cabin was very clean. Peaceful area made having a fire in the backyard a great way to end the day, so bring some wood. Took a short travel to Swallow Falls and grabbed lunch at Mountain State Brewery. I highly reccomend those also!
Tony is a very attentive host and kept communication open during my stay which made everything seamless.

Quiet home situated inside a resort community. Enjoy a large yard , easy access to a small but clean beach, playground and other resort amenities. Very relaxing. Tony was wonderful in communication before and during our visit. We are looking forward to returning! We arrived before the leaves turned but I imagine that the foliage would be spectacular! Great roads from D.C. to the resort and quite close to Swallowtail Falls for a great hike.

We had an amazing time at Tony's cute little cabin at Alpine Lake! We especially appreciated that the home was dog-friendly and that we could access resort amenities like the indoor pool, beach, kayak rentals, amazing dog park, and appreciated very much that it was gated and secure. We also really appreciated all the great communications from our host. Tony checked in with us several times and made sure we had all the information we needed! The cabin was well-equipped and had plenty of room for our family of four + 2 hound dogs. My favorite thing was sleeping in the upstairs bedroom with the screened sliding door open and listening to the owls, rustling leaves, and breathing in the cool night air... it was good for our souls! The chairs out by the fire pit weren't as pictured and I wish we would have brought paper plates (most of the dishes were plastic and were a little inconvenient to wash) but other than those two little things, everything was perfect! We'd love to come back to Alpine Lake - just an hour from Morgantown and SO wonderful! When we do, we'll check on Tony's listing first and we also hope to visit some of the other venues where he has properties - the little details like cute decor, cozy blankets, great wi-fi, and streaming TV kept the whole family happy. Thanks again for a much-needed break from life, Tony! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Such a fun escape from the city. We had a great time exploring west virgin, hanging out at the brewery and of course s’mores in the back yard at night. Highly suggest this cozy spot for a weekend away! We will be back!

We had a fantastic trip over the Labor Day weekend. The location was great! The fire pit was amazing. A definite must stay for those that like a proximity to nature without necessarily camping.

tony was great. really nice home and area. nice lake to fish in near by. only trouble was renting a boat to fish in. the resort guy said most are all owned and they have 1 boat that was already on the water. we didnt want to fish off of kayaks.

Sweet, quiet cabin. Lots of sleeping space for a single family. Great fire pit. The community swimming/beach area is a short drive or longer stroll down the hill and was beautiful and delightful. Not many options for food etc in the nearby area but Tony was helpful in offering suggestions and very responsive.
Travelers should be aware that while the Alpine Lake community was comfortable and quiet, if you venture anywhere outside of community grounds, you will see confederate flags and MAGA signs everywhere. Not exactly a surprise but as a multiracial family, this made us feel nervous and we limited our ventures in response.
