Amazing location, beautiful home, definitely could use some love when it comes to maintenance.
I gave the owner/manager notes for improvement throughout the week, they seemed very receptive.
The views are literally unmatched. If the maintenance in the house was kept up, the sauna worked, staircase, wasn’t wobbly, and handful of other things… This would literally be the perfect Airbnb.
Nothing was kept a secret from the owner or the manager… I kept everything 100% and communicated effectively with them about the deficiencies throughout the rental weekend.

Was a great stay and a nice place. Some things were needing fixed like the railing near the pool table, some of the pockets on the pole table, and a few of the closet doors not working properly. All in all a great place to stay.

My group and I had a wonderful stay at Raccoon Chalet! The house itself was exactly as pictured and perfect for our group. Tony was an excellent host, communicative throughout our stay and quick to respond to every message. It’s clear he cares about his guests having a great experience. We’d happily stay again and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway or for a trip to hike on the trails in the area like we did!

We had a nice stay at Raccoon Chalet! The house is lovely, well-equipped, and great for a group. Jake and Becca are incredibly responsive and proactive hosts.
They communicated excellently, letting us know ahead of time that the hot tub was broken and immediately issuing a $150 refund. We did have a couple of hitches: all four propane tanks were empty when we arrived (though Jake quickly reimbursed us after we swapped them at a local store), and the upstairs bathtub drained so slowly that our group of 8 had to share the single downstairs shower.
Overall, despite a few maintenance hiccups, the hosts’ top-notch communication and quick problem-solving made it a good experience!

We loved staying here. The kitchen was stocked with all the pots, pans, and utensils we needed. The movie theater was awesome. The hot tub was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the amazing views. Jake was really communicative and gave us very clear information throughout our trip.

Place was just as described. The views of the mountains and valley below were even more beautiful in person! Very nice modern hot tub. Extra propane tanks for the grill and fire pit if needed. Kids loved the “secret” hidden movie theater. Very close to the amenities of Bryce Resort. The beautiful Christmas tree was a pleasant surprise and added to the already cozy feel of the living area. Would definitely recommend to others.

Jake’s house in Bayse is awesome. It has a wonderful ski chalet theme with a beautiful view of the mountain. It was perfect for two families with kids. The “secret” movie theater was the star of the show. Highly recommend if you are visiting Bryce Resort or just looking for a mountain getaway.

I was truly satisfied with my stay here. I felt at home with endless space and games to play. We arrived early and Jake was able to accommodate. The moment we arrived we never left and had lots to do the entire day. Great place to relax, have fun and feel at home. I cannot wait to book again!

We had a wonderful time staying here. The pictures do the place justice for sure. lots of nice amenities like the hot tub and sauna, pool/pingpong table and a theater set up in the basement. tvs in every bedroom and then some. The gas fireplace worked great and was perfect ambiance addition. Fully stocked kitchen device/utensil wise. Grill worked great. The bed was super comfortable and plenty of linens and towels to use at our disposal. Parking allows for at least two cars in the driveway, path up to the house was easy to drive. Jake was super responsive during our stay and helped with things and answered questions immediately which I really appreciate. The space was lovely and I would definitely go back and stay again! We had an amazing stay! The house was beautiful, spotless, and tucked in the mountains with the most peaceful scenery and stunning views. It was close enough to restaurants while still feeling like a quiet getaway. I especially loved the game room and ended up in there every single night. We had such an amazing stay at Raccoon Chalet! The sunsets were absolutely beautiful and such a highlight of our trip. The outdoor space was perfect for relaxing, and we loved using the hot tub while taking in the scenery.
The beds were incredibly comfortable, which made it even easier to fully relax and unwind. Everything was clean and exactly as described in the listing.
One small thing to note the oven seemed to run a bit hotter than expected, so we found ourselves cooking at lower temperatures. Not a big deal once we figured it out, but helpful to know!
Overall the location was great for a quiet getaway, and communication with the host was easy and responsive.
We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful mountain escape!

Beautiful views and a relaxing setting made this a great stay. There were also fun “hidden” extras for the kids, like the movie room and the ladder up to the loft. We had five kids of different ages, and they all loved having their own space to hang out and watch movies downstairs.
The host was responsive and communicative throughout our stay. We had a small issue with the hot tub at the beginning, but he kept us informed about the timing of the repair, and it was fixed midway through so we could still enjoy it. The sauna was a great bonus too!
Highly recommend.

The home is exactly like the photos. The view was stunning and we felt right at home. Unfortunately, our stay occured during a snow storm so we did leave earlier and didn’t get to enjoy the sauna/hot tub/outside fireplace because it was so cold. However, we loved the movie room and game room. The house is about 5-8 minutes away from a ski resort, we enjoyed snow tubing and snowboarding. Also, only like 40 minutes away from Luray Caverns which was a very cool day trip. We’d love to come back and joy the home again. Jake was very communicative, so we always felt like we knew exactly what to expect before we even headed down.

Jake was a super kind and responsive host! The place was just like the pictures. Super spacious and lots of things to do around the house! Back porch was beautiful with a grill and fireplace and beautiful scenery. Totally recommend!!

The hot tub wasn’t working but the host comped us for that. All other amenities works and were awesome!
You’re in the mountains so just be prepared for bugs and animals. (We were here in early March.)
The house was clean and comfortable, although a deep clean is probably due.
We’d rent again!

Beautiful location! Host Jake was very kind and the home had everything necessary to make our stay comfortable. Only disadvantage was the hot tub being unavailable due to some technical issues that couldn’t be fixed til later unfortunately, but thankfully Jake was able to accommodate us for it. But overall our stay was perfect!

Due to a last minute cancellation we had to make arrangements within just a few hours for 9 people. Not only did Jake come through with an amazing place to stay but we were able to check in 3 hours early!
Within days of this snow and ice storm that left the rest of Northern Virginia impassable, the musical mountain house was smooth sailing… plowed roads, cleared driveway and steps to the warmest, coziest, cleanest and up to date chalet type home that was the perfect stay for our combined kids birthday overnight!
The house was stocked with EVERYTHING we needed and more. The kids had room to spread out, towels for days (which came in handy as they were in and out of the hot tub in record cold temperatures), a roomy sectional, beautifully designed and arranged bunk room/downstairs apartment-like quarters, and toys and games for our youngest who did not bring a friend.
We loved staying at the musical mountain house, getting donuts at the nearby apple house, and celebrating 11 & 13!

The Raccoon Chalet was absolutely stunning! The morning and night views were unmatched. The space was very spacious and clean we enjoyed several fun activities in the house because there was everything! We did have to leave very much and were able to fully enjoy the home! Can’t wait to stay again!

The house was beautiful with a beautiful view. The house decorated so nice to go with the homey peaceful mountain view’s and had so much to do to keep you busy. The view was breathtaking and not something you would get to see staying just anywhere. Bryce Resort is about 5 minutes and had plenty to do to keep you busy for a full day if not more. Jake gave lots of helpful information before we checked in and even got us in early which was great, he answered every question I had with quick responses. Would always recommend staying here and hope to again in the future!

When we stopped out onto the deck it felt so private! We got to see lots of deer right from the bedroom windows. This is a vacation home we would return to!

The view from the property was absolutely beautiful! The overall layout of the house, with all its amenities made it easy to stay entertained. Jake was very responsive and when we had an issue with the fireplace, he had maintenance there first thing in the morning.
However, the cleanliness and maintenance fell short of what we expected. There were dead bugs in the carpets and throughout the home. Along with an abundance of lady bugs in the theater room. While the house is in a wooded area, there was no bug spray provided, which would’ve helped.

The Raccoon Chalet was amazing, we were able to get away and relax without any outside interruptions. The property is peaceful and the amenities and space is everything we needed. The view is to die for, the trees changing colors made it spot on. Jake was extremely responsive, especially when we reached out to ask where the mattresses were from because the couple with us enjoyed it so much they wanted one. A note that is a good to know, anyone staying here needs to be able to go up and down a minimum of 10 steps. We would highly recommend this location and host!

Raccoon Chalet was the perfect fall getaway! The location is absolutely stunning to watch the leaves changing and get out of urban life for a change. We could tell during our stay that the hosts have gone out of their way to ensure guests have a wonderful time and a cozy, beautiful place to stay. Kitchen had everything we needed for making simple meals, the bedrooms were so comfortable, and the deck and amenities described were fantastic (even if we just spent most of the time in the game room playing pool and ping pong)!!
Hosts were very kind and accommodating to us. We are absolutely planning to come back soon.

We needed a scenic, restorative getaway during peak foliage season, and the Raccoon Chalet delivered! The mountain views were breathtaking, and we loved the sense of privacy that came from being tucked away at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. We took full advantage of all the amenities, especially the sauna, hot tub, and fire table. The chalet was spotless and thoughtfully organized; every inch of space was put to good use, from the cozy movie theater downstairs to the versatile game room. Jake was also incredibly responsive when we reached out about a few minor things. We were truly sad to leave!

My partner and I wanted a weekend get away and this place was certainly unforgettable! We got to watch the sun rise and set over the mountains, hear the creek, watch the stars at night in the hot tub. So cozy and what a WONDERFUL host! We had questions and he was so quick to respond! We had such an amazing stay at Raccoon Chalet! The sunsets were absolutely beautiful and such a highlight of our trip. The outdoor space was perfect for relaxing, and we loved using the hot tub while taking in the scenery.
The beds were incredibly comfortable, which made it even easier to fully relax and unwind. Everything was clean and exactly as described in the listing.
One small thing to note the oven seemed to run a bit hotter than expected, so we found ourselves cooking at lower temperatures. Not a big deal once we figured it out, but helpful to know!
Overall the location was great for a quiet getaway, and communication with the host was easy and responsive.
We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful mountain escape!

Absolutely amazing stay at the Raccoon Chalet! The views are exactly as pictured and even more pleasant in person. Jake was wonderful and responded to any questions or concerns we had! Hot tub was amazing as well as the movie theater room. 10/10.

The house was great. We enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and how quiet it was at night. We had a very relaxing time.

Beautiful views and a relaxing setting made this a great stay. There were also fun “hidden” extras for the kids, like the movie room and the ladder up to the loft. We had five kids of different ages, and they all loved having their own space to hang out and watch movies downstairs.
The host was responsive and communicative throughout our stay. We had a small issue with the hot tub at the beginning, but he kept us informed about the timing of the repair, and it was fixed midway through so we could still enjoy it. The sauna was a great bonus too!

The home is exactly like the photos. The view was stunning and we felt right at home. Unfortunately, our stay occured during a snow storm so we did leave earlier and didn't get to enjoy the sauna/hot tub/outside fireplace because it was so cold. However, we loved the movie room and game room. The house is about 5-8 minutes away from a ski resort, we enjoyed snow tubing and snowboarding. Also, only like 40 minutes away from Luray Caverns which was a very cool day trip. We'd love to come back and joy the home again. Jake was very communicative, so we always felt like we knew exactly what to expect before we even headed down.

Jake was a super kind and responsive host! The place was just like the pictures. Super spacious and lots of things to do around the house! Back porch was beautiful with a grill and fireplace and beautiful scenery. Totally recommend!!

This was a great stay overall! Beautiful location and beautiful house.
The hot tub wasn’t working but the host comped us for that. All other amenities works and were awesome!
You’re in the mountains so just be prepared for bugs and animals. (We were here in early March.)
The house was clean and comfortable, although a deep clean is probably due.
We’d rent again!

Beautiful location! Host Jake was very kind and the home had everything necessary to make our stay comfortable. Only disadvantage was the hot tub being unavailable due to some technical issues that couldn’t be fixed til later unfortunately, but thankfully Jake was able to accommodate us for it. But overall our stay was perfect!

Jake was a phenomenal host. There were some things that happened beyond his control and he was beyond accommodating. Despite a few hiccups, nothing that he could control, I would book here again. Jake was probably the best host I’ve had

Due to a last minute cancellation we had to make arrangements within just a few hours for 9 people. Not only did Jake come through with an amazing place to stay but we were able to check in 3 hours early!
Within days of this snow and ice storm that left the rest of Northern Virginia impassable, the musical mountain house was smooth sailing… plowed roads, cleared driveway and steps to the warmest, coziest, cleanest and up to date chalet type home that was the perfect stay for our combined kids birthday overnight!
The house was stocked with EVERYTHING we needed and more. The kids had room to spread out, towels for days (which came in handy as they were in and out of the hot tub in record cold temperatures), a roomy sectional, beautifully designed and arranged bunk room/downstairs apartment-like quarters, and toys and games for our youngest who did not bring a friend.
We loved staying at the musical mountain house, getting donuts at the nearby apple house, and celebrating 11 & 13!

The Raccoon Chalet was absolutely stunning! The morning and night views were unmatched. The space was very spacious and clean we enjoyed several fun activities in the house because there was everything! We did have to leave very much and were able to fully enjoy the home! Can’t wait to stay again!

The house was beautiful with a beautiful view. The house decorated so nice to go with the homey peaceful mountain view’s and had so much to do to keep you busy. The view was breathtaking and not something you would get to see staying just anywhere. Bryce Resort is about 5 minutes and had plenty to do to keep you busy for a full day if not more. Jake gave lots of helpful information before we checked in and even got us in early which was great, he answered every question I had with quick responses. Would always recommend staying here and hope to again in the future!

Jake's place was beautiful inside and out with panoramic view of the mountains. Jake was very helpful, informative, and responsive to any questions we had. My family and I had a great relaxing time. We would definitely go back if we have a chance in the future.

We loved our stay! This home was so cool. Beautiful scenery. We all loved the “secret” floor entrance to the movie theater basement. The decor and layout of the home was very cozy. When we stopped out onto the deck it felt so private! We got to see lots of deer right from the bedroom windows. This is a vacation home we would return to!

The view from the property was absolutely beautiful! The overall layout of the house, with all its amenities made it easy to stay entertained. Jake was very responsive and when we had an issue with the fireplace, he had maintenance there first thing in the morning.
However, the cleanliness and maintenance fell short of what we expected. There were dead bugs in the carpets and throughout the home. Along with an abundance of lady bugs in the theater room. While the house is in a wooded area, there was no bug spray provided, which would’ve helped.

The Raccoon Chalet was amazing, we were able to get away and relax without any outside interruptions. The property is peaceful and the amenities and space is everything we needed. The view is to die for, the trees changing colors made it spot on. Jake was extremely responsive, especially when we reached out to ask where the mattresses were from because the couple with us enjoyed it so much they wanted one. A note that is a good to know, anyone staying here needs to be able to go up and down a minimum of 10 steps. We would highly recommend this location and host!

Raccoon Chalet was the perfect fall getaway! The location is absolutely stunning to watch the leaves changing and get out of urban life for a change. We could tell during our stay that the hosts have gone out of their way to ensure guests have a wonderful time and a cozy, beautiful place to stay. Kitchen had everything we needed for making simple meals, the bedrooms were so comfortable, and the deck and amenities described were fantastic (even if we just spent most of the time in the game room playing pool and ping pong)!!
Hosts were very kind and accommodating to us. We are absolutely planning to come back soon.

We absolutely loved our stay at Raccoon Chalet! The cabin was spotless, cozy, and perfectly equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing mountain getaway. The hot tub and sauna were amazing, and the views from the deck were beautiful… especially at sunset. The kitchen had all the essentials, and the game room was such a fun bonus. Communication with the host was quick and easy, and check-in was seamless. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful escape with plenty to do nearby. We’ll definitely be back!

We needed a scenic, restorative getaway during peak foliage season, and the Raccoon Chalet delivered! The mountain views were breathtaking, and we loved the sense of privacy that came from being tucked away at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. We took full advantage of all the amenities, especially the sauna, hot tub, and fire table. The chalet was spotless and thoughtfully organized; every inch of space was put to good use, from the cozy movie theater downstairs to the versatile game room. Jake was also incredibly responsive when we reached out about a few minor things. We were truly sad to leave!

My partner and I wanted a weekend get away and this place was certainly unforgettable! We got to watch the sun rise and set over the mountains, hear the creek, watch the stars at night in the hot tub. So cozy and what a WONDERFUL host! We had questions and he was so quick to respond! We will definitely be coming back (:

We had an amazing time and the view was gorgeous. It’s equipped with literally everything you need. Just make sure you stop at the store before you head up! We brought loads of board games with us and enjoyed every second spent 😊
