The Home
Sleeping and living space
Located on the second floor, the Kennedy Suite offers a private retreat within a shared inn setting. A queen-size bed with a tufted headboard anchors the room, complemented by mid-century-inspired furnishings and subtle accents that reflect its classic character. A small sitting area provides a place to unwind, while a writing desk and upholstered chair create a comfortable spot for reading or planning your time in Luray. The suite includes a private en-suite bathroom, offering convenience and privacy during your stay.
Shared spaces and setting
While your suite is private, the property itself is a shared, adults-only inn designed for a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Guests have access to common areas such as the entryway, parlor, and outdoor spaces, where you may encounter others enjoying their stay. A sitting room with a fireplace invites quiet moments indoors, while the wrap-around porch and garden offer a place to take in the mild spring weather, listen to birds, or enjoy a peaceful afternoon.
Kitchen and essentials
Guests have access to a kitchen where you can prepare your own meals, along with a mini fridge and coffee maker for light refreshments. The suite also includes bathroom essentials, bed linens, hangers, and access to a washer and dryer in the building. Wifi and a TV are available for added comfort, and air conditioning with portable fans helps maintain a pleasant indoor environment.
Outdoor and location highlights
Step outside to enjoy views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the surrounding landscape as it comes alive in spring. The backyard and porch provide space to relax or take in the scenery, while complimentary bicycles - available on a first-come, first-served basis - offer a simple way to explore downtown Luray or ride along the nearby Luray Greenway beside Hawksbill Creek.
Additional notes
The Legacy Inn is an adults-only property with a shared environment that encourages a respectful and peaceful stay for all guests. Heating and cooling are managed through mini split systems to maintain comfort within the historic structure.
Please note: The Inn is heated and cooled using mini split systems, which are energy-efficient and help us maintain comfort without altering the structure of our historic building. The mini split in the shared guest space is set to 70°F for your comfort. If the area feels too warm or too cool, you're welcome to turn off the unit using the remote; however, we kindly ask that you return it to 70°F or turn it back on when you leave the space. Due to the limitations of a historic property, we also recommend bringing a personal fan for added comfort during the warmer months.
