Comfortable enough for a short stay, but I wouldn’t return.
Pros: Fast WiFi, self check-in, the important parts were clean (linens, bathrooms, kitchen)
Cons:
– Primary room had a full size bed instead of queen (I measured it) & was not comfortable for 2 adults
– Advertises a dedicated workspace, but there is not a desk anywhere in the house. You can work at the kitchen table or on a couch on your lap
– Furniture was dusty, blinds were filthy & most didn’t work, dust and cobwebs in the staircase & corners, water filter needs replacing — this house doesn’t seem to be getting a lot of attention
– No hairdryer, despite being listed as an amenity
– The house is at a significant slant, to the point that we didn’t feel safe using the back porch & when we tried to play board games pieces rolled off the table
– Check out is early (10am) with a hefty fine if you are late. But they will sell you a late check out for $50. Felt predatory, bad first impression

We really enjoyed staying the weekend here in Harpers Ferry at this House. The History in this town and the house as well is one of the coolest things we found about staying! this house was just like pictured and your able to walk to everything in town. close to one of the best restaurants and trails! the house was so clean and the owner was great with directions and very helpful making it least but complicated to get there and stay. it was easily found. great parking spaces, very convenient. I will definitely be staying here again in the future! I reccomend anyone looking to stay to do so. it’s a trip worth making! I didn’t want to leave this cool town!

The location of the home is amazing! It is just up the hill from Harper’s Ferry. We walked into “town” every night. It is very close to Jefferson Rock, the Appalachian Trail and where the two rivers meet. The area is beautiful! A note that the hill is very steep. The house looks more worn then in the photos. It was clean, but the furniture was mismatched and worn. A note on the bathroom situation- the half bath is a small closet directly off the kitchen. The only full bath, so only shower, is off the main bedroom. So, everyone has to go through the bedroom to get to the bathroom. Just something to be aware of if you have a larger party or a mixed group. We loved hearing and watching the trains, it added to the feel of the house. We brought a noise machine and they didnt bother us at night. There are a bunch of games, books and puzzles around the house. Parking is directly in front, but a narrow space. Overall a unique house in a unique area that we really enjoyed.

Fantastic location by Old Downtown, but a street away to make the stay feel private. Tiny was proactive and made sure I had the info that I needed. Parking was easy, the place was spotless; we had a great time. Being so close to the confluence / downtown meant that we could walk around with leisure, unworried about finding a place to park or bringing stuff with us “just in case.” I’d happily return here for future stays.

This house is full of charm! We loved the original details of this Victorian beauty and the modern updates that made it perfect for our family of 4. The beds were super comfortable, the view from the back deck was amazing, and we loved the location so close to town. If you do walk to town, wear your walking shoes – it’s a pretty steep hike! If you love older homes, this cottage is a perfect place to fully experience historic Harpers Ferry.

This cute little cottage is in a fabulous position for an easy walk to everything in the historic centre. It is in a beautiful and mostly peaceful situation. The issue for us was the loud noise of the train close by every hour throughout the night.
It is very well appointed with everything you might need. The wifi did not work at all which was frustrating. Tony was very responsive but unfortunately this issue did not resolve.
I would definitely recommend staying here for position and character but do be aware of the train noise.

This cute little historic house clean and comfortable for a small group. it is walking distance from historic Harper’s Ferry including Jefferson’s Rock.
Unfortunately, Harper’s Ferry rolls up the sidewalks at 8:00 so there is really no point in staying walking distance from Harper’s Ferry because the town is really a day-time attraction. The town isn’t really open in the morning either with only one small coffee shop open before 10:00.
So, I would highly recommend this place if you are not planning on doing anything at night or in the morning.

Excellent location, charming house, and attentive host. I booked this place for a night over Memorial Day weekend and had a great time exploring the Harper’s Ferry area. It is positioned at the top of a hill with the town a short walk down below. Everything you need is walkable from the house, including hiking trails, boutique stores, restaurants, and museums. The home itself is older, but full of historic charm and plenty of space for you and your guests. Tony was very helpful and accommodating throughout the process. He has streamlined the check-in process with the home manual he created and everything was very straightforward and easy. Highly recommend this house and the area if you’re like me and wanted to get out of the city and back to the sights and smells of nature. If so, this is the spot!

The location was convenient to the National Historic Park and the cemetery. All was within a short walk but beware, the entire area is very hilly and steep in spots. One of our party had some trouble walking. You get a view of the River from the back porch , which was rickety, so we left the back door open for the view. It is a very peaceful location aside from the train whistle which took some getting used to. The cottage is quaint and has some history so it sure made you feel part of this historic community. The host is most responsive to questions or concerns.

I stayed at Tony’s place with my sister and a friend for a girl’s getaway. The cottage is very charming and in a great location in Harper’s Ferry, walkable to shops and restaurants, and with a nice view of the town and river. The home was very clean and amenities were as advertised. Tony was very responsive and communicative.
The road leading to the home can be a bit tricky, but having a dedicated parking space was ideal, given that parking in the town is limited. We had a great time, and it is the perfect location for a trip to Harper’s Ferry.

Outstanding location in the very heart of Harpers Ferry! Everything is walkable and the hiking is literally steps from your door. We really enjoyed the peaceful location and quiet while also enjoying the beautiful scenery – hiking Maryland Heights Trail and checking out Jefferson’s Rock. It was Presidents Day so the Park Service had a special presentation by a retired Park Ranger which was awesome. We walked up to Bolivar Bakery (about .5 miles away) and enjoyed some amazing baked goods for breakfast each morning. Tony is a great host and the space is amazing…will definitely book with him again – super responsive and very friendly.

We had a great time and spent a lot more time in the house with the 15F cold front that kept us bundled inside ! we cooked and played games and escaped just to visit the rabbit hole. I do suggest trying to carpool, only two spots come with the rental, we had to park at the river access and pay the 20 fee, which was fine, just didn’t plan for the coordination.

If you are looking for a place close to the hiking and shops in Harpers Ferry, you simply cannot bet this location. Its a few steep steps away from all the historic sights and shops. It was
Tony was in constant communication, both in advance, and during our stay. You get to park about two steps form the front door, which is handy. The house had a few games, movies, and books that very much complimented my daughter’s interests and the West Virginia, birds, and historic themed decorations were a very nice touch. It has the feeling of an old farmhouse with a few of the needed modernizations. Wi-Fi and Roku worked fine.
Tips:
– Be careful of the step into the bathroom in the main bedroom to avoid stubbing your toe 🙂
– Most of the town will be closed during times of inclement weather.
– Recommend the Rabbit Hole Gastropub for drinks and food, including outdoor seating in a bubble during colder weather.
– Battlegrounds Coffee had great sandwiches and baked goods and a friendly staff.

Harpers Ferry is beautiful and the location of Tony’s home was perfect: lovely views and an easy walk to shops, restaurants, hikes and all of the historic sights… and I loved hearing all the trains go by!
I appreciated the overall aesthetic and coziness of the house – with its comfy beds, well-appointed kitchen, and the thoughtful consideration to basic necessities that were provided (sugar, creamers, basic spices, food wrap, paper products, etc).
It was a great place to relax from the holidays and Tony was a thoughtful, accessible, host!

This charming little home is exactly as described and Tony is such a gracious host. We felt right at home the moment we walked inside! It’s super clean and kept in fantastic condition. It’s situated in a nice, quiet area of downtown Harper’s Ferry, within walking distance to all attractions and restaurants, making it the perfect location if you’re looking for a weekend getaway with your partner or family. Beautiful, historic home, amazing host and excellent location. Highly recommend!

My family stayed a night in this cabin and it was perfect. Being our trip was so short, the location was ideal to spend as much time in town as we could before we had to head home. Only blocks from downtown, charming cabin and friendly neighbors. The host was very responsive and knowledgeable of the area. Thank you for a great stay!

Great little house! Perfect location and very clean. This house was a great fit for my family! This is an old house so be sure to read the reviews, historical houses have varying quirks. This one’s rooms are small, ceilings are low, some spaces feel cramped (primary bathroom), and floors are not level, but that didn’t ruin our experience. The only “full” (3/4) bathroom is located within the main bedroom. The layout of this house wouldn’t suit larger families, families with teenagers, or couples traveling together. I’ve read most of the reviews, the positive reviewers and the negative ones are each accurate, so you can trust them and decide for yourself how the pros and cons weigh out for your particular travel plans and who you are traveling with. (We’re a family of 5, our kids’ ages are 12, 9, and 7. None of us are large or have mobility issues, and I love historical architecture and so can overlook flaws that might really be a problem for others.) I would highly recommend this house to couples or families similar to mine!

Great location for being close to all the hikes, walks, history and restaurants in Harper’s Ferry. The house is very comfortable, and well furnished and decorated, felt every bit of the cozy mountain home that it is. We really enjoyed the back deck and views, the homey touches, and the shower was perfectly hot with great water pressure after a day of hiking! Definitely a perfect stay for our little get away!

We had a great stay at this cabin in Harper’s Ferry! It’s a short 5-10 minute walk from the lower town area which made for a lovely evening stroll shortly after we checked in. The area is hilly and may not be the most accessible terrain for those with walking difficulties or different abilities. (But that’s just the area and no fault of the owners!) The cabin itself was wonderfully quaint. The space was clean and cozy. We loved sitting out on the back porch. The only complaint we had was that we wish we had more time off and could’ve stayed longer!

Positive:
Incredible location with friendly and helpful neighbors, that allows you to walk to everything in only a few minutes. The house is a very charming and cozy inside. They have a million dollar view from the back balcony of the train tunnel that is unfortunately mostly blocked by the foliage. This would be my one suggestion for improvement, trim the foliage to take advantage of the view. This was our first, but definitely not our last trip to Harpers Ferry and we’ll definitely stay here again when we come back. The host had great communication and the house was spotless when we arrived. Parking is right in front of the house and can accommodate two vehicles. Like some have said, parking is a little tight, but as long as you don’t drive a dually you should be fine!

This is the perfect place to stay if you’re visiting Harper’s Ferry or the surrounding area. You are within walking distance to everythiing in downtown Harper’s Ferry. We were surprised to arrive to whitetail deer grazing the yard within 10 feet of the house that weren’t scared off when they saw us. It was a common occurance during out stay to always have the deer right in the yard like pets…it was really neat! The house was perfect for us and I have no complaints at all. I especially like the good water pressure in the shower. Thanks for sharing your home, I hope to stay again!

Very nice small house sooo close to everything there is to see and do in quaint Harpers Ferry lower town. (Maybe a little too close for light sleepers as the train line is very active!). House was clean and pleasant, it got a little tight with four of us from 17 to senior citizen in the place; it is not palatial but built to 1800s typical smaller standards. We enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to return! Tony was the perfect host. The check-in was easy; Tony kindly let us arrive an hour earlier at no extra charge. The accommodations, including a nicely stocked kitchen, were just what we needed. The location was delightful and the views breathtaking. We could easily walk to exhibits & restaurants (The Rabbit Hole and Battle Grounds Bakery and Coffee hit the spot). An entrance to the Appalachian Trail was just a couple hundred feet from our front door. The staircase to the second floor (where the bedrooms are) is a bit steep. One of the two upstairs bedrooms doesn’t have access to a bathroom apart from the one located in the other bedroom, but there is a half bath downstairs. The layout may not work for everybody, but it worked just fine for us. We’ll be back!

Quaint old home very central to the historic area of Harpers Ferry. A 500 foot walk down the street takes you past historic ruins, St Peter’s church, the appalachian trail staircase, and numerous NHP buildings. This is extremely important as parking for the historic area is often more than a very hilly 1/2 mile away. The views from the back porch are stunning.
The home does show its 200 years in some ways. There are plenty of sloping floors, crooked door frames, and interior doors that don’t close all the way. The kitchen is modern and well equipped, the AC works well, and there is plenty of comfortable furniture.
The layout description is a little misleading. There is a very small half bath off of the kitchen, and a small 3/4 bath (shower, no tub) off of the master bedroom upstairs. There is a master bedroom with its own access to the hall, but the other 2 “bedrooms” are really 1 bedroom with a forechamber that has to be passed though to get to the real bedroom.
The parking spot is so narrow that passengers have to get out of your car before you finish parking. Historic narrow streets…
If you want to immerse yourself in history, this is a wonderful, quirky, old home in the center of everything. If you want a large luxurious home, look elsewhere.

Comfortable enough for a short stay, but I wouldn't return.
Pros: Fast WiFi, self check-in, the important parts were clean (linens, bathrooms, kitchen)
Cons:
- Primary room had a full size bed instead of queen (I measured it) & was not comfortable for 2 adults
- Advertises a dedicated workspace, but there is not a desk anywhere in the house. You can work at the kitchen table or on a couch on your lap
- Furniture was dusty, blinds were filthy & most didn't work, dust and cobwebs in the staircase & corners, water filter needs replacing -- this house doesn't seem to be getting a lot of attention
- No hairdryer, despite being listed as an amenity
- The house is at a significant slant, to the point that we didn't feel safe using the back porch & when we tried to play board games pieces rolled off the table
- Check out is early (10am) with a hefty fine if you are late. But they will sell you a late check out for $50. Felt predatory, bad first impression

The location of the home is amazing! It is just up the hill from Harper's Ferry. We walked into "town" every night.

Perfect stop for anyone on the C&O or AT….as long as you are a close group, given the one shower.
The porches and layout are awesome for hanging out.
Sleeping arrangements are comfortable and the CENTRAL AIR is gold for after a hot day on the trail

This cute little historic house clean and comfortable for a small group. it is walking distance from historic Harper's Ferry including Jefferson's Rock.
Unfortunately, Harper's Ferry rolls up the sidewalks at 8:00 so there is really no point in staying walking distance from Harper's Ferry because the town is really a day-time attraction. The town isn't really open in the morning either with only one small coffee shop open before 10:00.
So, I would highly recommend this place if you are not planning on doing anything at night or in the morning.

The location was wonderful but the house had several problems - bedroom door could not close so no privacy, most of the window blinds did not work so much of the house was dark, no bed sheets available for one of the pull out beds.
The cost did not seem worth it.

A lovely old house in the center of town . So character filled one almost expected to see the ghost of civil war soldier. We all enjoyed our time there. My kids liked the little ‘nook’ of games, books etc

I stayed at Tony's place with my sister and a friend for a girl's getaway. The cottage is very charming and in a great location in Harper's Ferry, walkable to shops and restaurants, and with a nice view of the town and river. The home was very clean and amenities were as advertised. Tony was very responsive and communicative.
The road leading to the home can be a bit tricky, but having a dedicated parking space was ideal, given that parking in the town is limited. We had a great time, and it is the perfect location for a trip to Harper's Ferry.

Staying in Tony's home made the trip during our kids' spring break. The location is phenomenal and staying in this historic home, surrounded by historic Harpers Ferry, gave us an appreciation for the town in ways that staying somewhere else simply couldn't have given us. Tony was a great communicator and helped on the one or two things where we needed a little extra help. We're grateful for the experience and will keep these memories for a long time.

Outstanding location in the very heart of Harpers Ferry! Everything is walkable and the hiking is literally steps from your door. We really enjoyed the peaceful location and quiet while also enjoying the beautiful scenery - hiking Maryland Heights Trail and checking out Jefferson's Rock. It was Presidents Day so the Park Service had a special presentation by a retired Park Ranger which was awesome. We walked up to Bolivar Bakery (about .5 miles away) and enjoyed some amazing baked goods for breakfast each morning. Tony is a great host and the space is amazing...will definitely book with him again - super responsive and very friendly.

We had a great time and spent a lot more time in the house with the 15F cold front that kept us bundled inside ! we cooked and played games and escaped just to visit the rabbit hole. I do suggest trying to carpool, only two spots come with the rental, we had to park at the river access and pay the 20 fee, which was fine, just didn't plan for the coordination.

The house had a few games, movies, and books that very much complimented my daughter's interests and the West Virginia, birds, and historic themed decorations were a very nice touch. It has the feeling of an old farmhouse with a few of the needed modernizations. Wi-Fi and Roku worked fine.
Tips:
- Be careful of the step into the bathroom in the main bedroom to avoid stubbing your toe 🙂
- Most of the town will be closed during times of inclement weather.
- Recommend the Rabbit Hole Gastropub for drinks and food, including outdoor seating in a bubble during colder weather.
- Battlegrounds Coffee had great sandwiches and baked goods and a friendly staff.

My family and I stayed two nights in this charming, old house, and felt cozy and welcomed. The house had everything we needed. Comfortable, pretty bedrooms and some games and books that the kids loved. Great location and very clear instructions. The host was easy to reach and checked in on us a few times to be sure we had what we needed. I’d love to stay here again.

Such a cute little house in the historic downtown of Harper’s Ferry! We spend the day hiking before checking in to freshen up then went to a winery. Then we were able to easily walk to dinner and to breakfast the following morning. Tony provided us with a guide which we found very helpful. We would def recommend this house to others.

Our stay exceeded our expectations. We were visiting Harper's Ferry just after the New Year so it was off season. Tony helped us figure out what would be open and where we could get good meals. The cottage is spacious, spotless and well equipped. It is a beautiful but updated period home. We loved our short stay and hope to be able to return for a longer visit. Would love to spend some time sitting on the beautiful back porch! The location is relation to downtown Harper's Ferry could not be any better. Just a great house for a very good price!

Harpers Ferry is beautiful and the location of Tony’s home was perfect: lovely views and an easy walk to shops, restaurants, hikes and all of the historic sights… and I loved hearing all the trains go by!
I appreciated the overall aesthetic and coziness of the house - with its comfy beds, well-appointed kitchen, and the thoughtful consideration to basic necessities that were provided (sugar, creamers, basic spices, food wrap, paper products, etc).
It was a great place to relax from the holidays and Tony was a thoughtful, accessible, host!
