Would stay there again.
Positive:
Beautiful house and location. The house was clean, check in was easy and the ac worked well.
Negative:
Yard could have been mowed.
Ellery Cottage was a great home-base for our trip to Luray. It was clean and accommodating for our family. We didn’t spend a lot of time at the house since we were out exploring Luray and Shenandoah National Park, but it mostly had everything we needed. Tony was a responsive host and the instructions were easy to read/very clear. We also appreciated his list of recommendations.
Great stay! Hot tub was ready when we arrived and Tony was quick to respond when we ran into internet issues. Kitchen was stocked with pots and pans fairly well, definitely bring any other supplies if you’re planning to cook. Overall we enjoyed our stay!
Tony's house was the perfect place to spend my birthday with my friends. The view was incredible and the hot tub was an extra plus! We loved spending time in the house playing games and cooking; we felt right at home. Tony was unbelievably attentive and kind - he was always a text away, happy to check in and help when needed. I would 10000% stay at Tony's house again. Thank you, Tony!
We had a nice stay, but when we got their the floors weren’t clean and when we went to use the jacuzzi in the bathroom it was dirty. Other than that we enjoyed ourselves.
Tony’s cabin was a perfect getaway spot to the beautiful mountains of WV. I am super picky about cleanliness, and I felt 100 percent comfortable in this home. It is clean and as described, with tasteful decorations and everything you need to enjoy your stay. Beds are comfortable; hot tub is great (and also clean!). If you want more action, there’s plenty to do when venturing out from the cabin—hiking, country drives, and cute stores and farm markets in surrounding towns. Luray Caverns in VA is about an hour away. Tony is super responsive and stays in touch over text with all the info you need to check in and out easily and if you need info on the house or the area. Highly recommend this Airbnb. Thanks, Tony!
Had a great stay, perfect weekend getaway. It was just what we were looking for.
There were a few issues with the structure of the building itself. There was a window that wasn’t completely affixed so there was a gap that allowed bees and bugs in constantly as well as some holes in the window screens. There was also a decent amount of silverware that was put away dirty so we had to wash them before we could use them. And there’s definitely huge temperature differences between each floor level but other than that. The place looks exactly like the pictures and we had a great time. The town is amazing. The food was fantastic and there is so much to do around Berkeley springs!
We had a lovely family vacation in the Shenandoah valley. The cabin was perfect and everyone really enjoyed staying there.
We had such a wonderful stay! The house was very clean and cozy! We spent most of our time hiking in the National Park, but we used the hot tub in the evenings and we were very grateful to have it! The house is about 20 minutes outside of town, so be prepped to add roughly 20 mins on to any excursions, but the remote location is worth it!
The loft area with the beanbag chairs was a very cool addition as well!
We really enjoyed our stay! Private location not far from major roads. Easy access to several WV towns. Hot tub was nice and clean. Tony was a good host and responded quickly to all questions.
The wildcat retreat was a great place to stay. The surrounding area was great. Tony was very responsive and helpful for our stay. Would recommend for a family or small group of friends for a fun time!
Very cozy, clean and spectacular views! Tony was an amazing host- super responsive and accomodating. We loved this cabin!
Great place to stay. Beautiful views, secluded and quite. it was the perfect weekend getaways for my fiance our puppy and myself. Would definitely come back.
In our top places to stay now when we come to vist family. The cabin is private, peaceful, and cozy. Tony was so so helpful giving us directions and recommendations!! The whole cabin is so clean and beautiful, we absolutely loved our stay here and would recommend it to everyone :) 10000000/10 for sure.
We really loved our stay and Tony was a wonderful host! Everything was as it was pictured in the ad and Tony was very responsive. We appreciated having the house manual that we could download to our phones since internet service was spotty at times. We enjoyed how cozy and clean the cabin was. We couldn't believe how quiet and peaceful the area was.
The location was convenient to the National Historic Park and the cemetery. All was within a short walk but beware, the entire area is very hilly and steep in spots. One of our party had some trouble walking. You get a view of the River from the back porch , which was rickety, so we left the back door open for the view. It is a very peaceful location aside from the train whistle which took some getting used to. The cottage is quaint and has some history so it sure made you feel part of this historic community. The host is most responsive to questions or concerns.
Great place to sit back & relax
Great place to sit back & relax!
Pros - hot tub was awesome, great WiFi, very clean, nice decks, nice bedrooms with good sleeping arrangements. Tony was super communicative and responsive.
Cons - Tony asked us for concerns and when I said the AC wasn’t working, he replied that it would wait until after we left. Master bedroom has no ceiling fan and only one window with curtains that wouldn’t open. So no air flow. Deck door and about half the windows didn’t have screens so no air flow there either. Also lots of patches on walls that were mid-repair. Late check in and early check out weren’t fun.
