wonderful house- the remote owner and distant management company?? the maintenance guy Liam was great and responsive but things that Liam has recommended and fixed prior are a problem- ie the wooden garbage can that should be metal to keep the widelife/bears out. also - prior management company with Erica Dalton was awesome and helpful- when first tried to rent - erica reached out to owner to allow my wife’s ESA (pug) and was advised owner approved- Tony denied and don’t feel he ever really asked the owner - Alpine Lake is animal friendly and the house as well. owner should bring back a more local connection to manage property and one that will actually represent the owner/renter. the coffee maker, microwave not working, broken glass on unlocked back door (prior damage), refrigerator ice maker did not work and the filter needs to be replaced, and the 10 bags of garbage left in basement of house created undue stress on our vacation. great house - just some experiences not great!

Great host! The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. Highly recommended
Great place for a quite and relaxing weekend! Will come back!
Peace & quite.......AC!
Positive:
This was one of our favorite getaway stays and we've stayed at many! The house/barn was extremely clean & cool AC on a 100+ degree days!!! Thank you! Rustic Barn well appointment for a wild and wonderful WV visit! The country view of the mountains and the peace and quiet was exactly what we needed. I enjoyed cooking on the Pit Boss grill on the deck, while looking out with all the nature! We loved viewing wild life from the top deck as the sun went down, many deer. We really enjoyed the shuffle board, pool table and hot tub. Country rural downtown is a quick 20 minute drive into Wardensville country stores, they had a great selection of goodies if you want to support local business and get some fresh produce / eggs / baked good. We also travel to Lost River & Moorefiield for supporting local business.. Communication with Tony was also top notch- highly recommend this one!
Negative:
Cooler weather, hot tub to a cold tub!!🤣🤣👍😎🤙🇺🇲🎆

Positive:
Private, cozy
Negative:
Walkway was dark and uneven
As a family if 3 we spent a quiet weekend of 4th of July in WV. Tony's place was exactly what we needed. As mentioned in some reviews, it is smaller than. looks o. some photos, but we love it and had a very cozy time. Beds are comfortable and sheets were very nice and clean. ( Loved pristine white towels!). Bathroom and kitchen were very clean. As a matter of fact, cleaner than some other AirBnBs we've stayed prior. And hot tub just a cherry on top! Even with a hot weekend we did get a good use of the tub.
Tony deserves a special mention for his prompt communication, despite a holiday weekend.
We would definitely recommend this place for a smaller families.
My family and I traveled to this little house from San Antonio, TX, and we absolutely fell in love with it. The home is a little older, but it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It was clean, cozy, and well stocked with thoughtful amenities. The peaceful setting and beautiful surroundings made it feel like a true getaway. Tony was a wonderful host friendly, responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing place to unwind.
Great location and Tony is very responsive! Only thing to note is that the third bedroom is in an attic that is not well air conditioned. Otherwise had a great stay!
Our group of 3 had a lovely, relaxing holiday weekend at Tony's place. The location feels very quiet and private with thick forest and greenery blocking any view of the neighbors and a beautiful creek running right behind the deck. The cabin was clean and tidy and very comfortable. We especially appreciated the AC and ceiling fans during some of the hottest days of the year! A selling point for us was the close location to many nearby activities, including hiking trails, boating and swimming, and cute towns to poke around in. We would recommend to others looking for a relaxing rustic cabin that is conveniently located to many of West Virginia's wonderful outdoor attractions.
We enjoyed our stay in the cabin. It was really hot outside (100 degrees) during our stay so it took a while for the cabin to cool down, but once it did, it was very comfortable. It was a reasonable (20-30min) drive to Harper’s Ferry, but was out in the woods in a private lot. The Mountain Lake Club in the neighborhood was our go-to for dinners.
Loved the place and staff was very accommodating only a few things could improve on coffee table was extremely woble nee
Positive:
Was adorable and and very convenient.
We loved our stay at the stone cabin! Definitely recommend following Tony’s instructions of downloading the map and manual beforehand, as you will lose service. The cabin was exactly as listed, and very private.
Excellent
Just a short drive from the DMV, this peaceful cabin was the perfect weekend getaway. From the spacious deck and relaxing hot tub under the stars to the cozy fire pit, every detail made for a memorable stay. The large, open-concept layout was ideal for our family, providing plenty of space to relax and spend time together. The cabin was exceptionally clean and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. Tony was a fantastic host—welcoming, responsive, and always happy to help. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back.
We absolutely loved staying here! The house was so beautiful and fun for the kids, and we loved being able to walk right down to the creek where we spent the whole day swimming, tubing and kayaking. Our dog loved it too!
It was a great place for a little gateway. The location was amazing and very private. Easy access to the river. We had a beautiful time and we'd loved to have stayed longer!
Lovely setting. The creek behind the house was great, both for the dogs to cool off in and to listen to from the back deck. Great location near the lake, trails, and brewerys/ciderys/vineyards. House and furnishings a bit dated and could be a bit better maintained. Kitchen fairly well stocked in terms of dishes and cooking needs. Host was responsive to pre trip questions.
Charmimg little place close to Wintergreen which is great, with all needed amenities. Unfortunately the weather was bad so having HDTV with apps such as Netflix was awesome!
We had a great time! The house was clean and had enough space for two people and two dogs. Also, appreciated all the games to choose from. Host was very communicative and instructions were easy to understand. Would stay again.
Thanks for staying at Whispering Oaks and for the great review. I'm glad the space worked well for you and your dogs, and that you enjoyed the games. I aim to keep communication and instructions simple, so I'm happy they were helpful. I'd be glad to host you again.
