Great little place, just 15 min outside of Harpers Ferry and close to the park and trails. This cozy cabin had everything we needed to cook for and entertain 2 couples. The ping pong table was a hit with our group! Tony was a great and attentive host, quick to respond to any questions! Excellent place to stay close to DC and NOVA for the weekend mountain getaway.

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. While we visited in the winter, Alpine Lake is a cool little community with lots to do in the summer.

This place was so spacious with so many rooms/beds. My kids loved exploring the house! It was very clean and the perfect location for us. Tony was so personable and welcoming in all of his communications. I would gladly stay here again and probably for longer next time!

Nice cottage, more space than expected.

The cabin was very cozy and clean and was well suited for our hiking get-a-way to Shenandoah. The fireplace is large and we were able to find wood to purchase in the surrounding area. The kitchen provided everything we needed for us to cook the meals were brought.

Be cautious of the driveway leading up to the house off the main gravel road - its very rough and a vehicle with more clearance than a sedan is needed in order to not damage your car.

The house is located in a quant forested area and while you can see surrounding cabins, it felt private. For those interested in visiting Shenandoah, it took us 30+ minutes to get to the Thornton Gap Entrance of the park.

Place and stay was great! Everything was so clean and the preparation Tony put into the description of the home, the information of the area and things to do (shopping, restaurants, etc.) was also spot on. It’s a great place to get away from it all. I gave 4 stars for location … only because it is out of the way (about 30 minutes from “things”). But Tony made that very clear in the description and information he provides. If you are expecting a lot right around you…then just keep that in mind. It worked out just right for our family!

Nestled and private with plenty of trails around for adventure . The cabin is warm and inviting .
Bring mud shoes to hike with and it would be very pretty in the snow !

Negative:
I always get a little frustrated at paying over $100 for cleaning fees when the spaces are not that clean overall. to be fair, it was clean enough and I’m not really a germaphobe, but I hate to see piled up dust and stuff under furniture and what not. the dish drying rack could have been cleaner, I understand the water leaves residue but the cleaning company should hit that up as it’s a common used thing. I just feel that if I’m paying that much for cleaning fees, this kind of stuff should not be missed. i see this with a lot of property rentals so it’s not just this place. but this day in age, cleanliness is super important so it’s unfortunate to see common spots not tended to carefully.

Won't have good phone service

We loved staying in this cabin over the holidays! It was quiet and felt remote, even though it is only a few minutes drive from a small grocery store and about 30 minutes from Deep Creek Lake. We had a few wildlife sightings (deer and wild turkey), but we did hear a critter on the roof/in the walls, which is to be expected in a country cabin. We had just about everything we needed to cook our Christmas Dinner, but we’d recommend bringing an extra frying pan and Tupperware if you plan to cook large meals. Keep in mind most of the plates and bowls are made of plastic, so we brought our own paper plates to use. The heat worked great, and the cabin was tastefully decorated (the couch and seating comfortably fit 4 adults and 2 small dogs, but you may not fit more than that). The beds were made of some type of foam and quite comfortable, and the sheets/bedding/towels provided were great. Tony was excellent at communicating (even over a holiday weekend), and we’d book with him again in a heart beat. Thanks for making our holiday special!

Everything was great. It was clean and well-stocked with kitchen items, towels and linens. We felt at home. My favorite part of the house is the back porch with a nice view and accommodating kitchen table. The backyard was quaint, and the host Tony was very attentive. We will likely return. We love visiting Chincoteague Island and the surrounding areas.

Great stay for a large family.....comfortable beds and lots of space. Fun hiking trails and quiet setting. Very enjoyable stay.

Tony is the perfect host. He was quick to answer all of our inquiries and assist us with whatever we needed. His cabin was immaculate and it is in a great location for relaxing.

We had a great Christmas weekend at Tony’s place. It has everything for a fun staycation - fire pit, hot tub, TT table, grill and dog friendly (best part)! hot tub is very cozy and has a great view. Once you figure out getting to the cabin and get used to the bad cellphone reception, you can truly unwind. Tony was an excellent host and accommodating with the last minute addition of another pet.
