We had a bit of problem with the hot water the first night. The host was very responsive and fixed the issue right away. The hot tub and the deck were awesome. We had a wonderful stay. Would definitely go back.

Thank you for a warm and inviting location.
It was a great place to stay, the price was great for 4 days and 3 nights and they welcomed all 3 of my dogs who felt right at home and its so peaceful and the neighbors are very nice... I'd definitely recommend this cabin and will be going back in the near future
Tony’s river edge cabin is the perfect get away located right on the river. Tony gives helpful instructions about the property and how to utilize all the amenities. The cabin is located right on the river and kayaks are provided to allow guests the opportunity to spend time on the water. The location is close to local downtown restaurants and breweries as well as the national park to allow guests plenty of things to do in the area. Would def recommend and stay again
We had a lovely stay. Quiet, peaceful and relaxing.
Positive:
Lots of old world charm but with all mod cons. Good position close to Shenedoah National Park. Various restaurants are walkable in a what felt like a safe small town
Negative:
Lovely big bathroom but shower head positioning arrangement needs sorting. A small thing but annoying.
Nice house, very peaceful, definitely rent it again.
Great place to stay along our route to New River Gorge National Park. The cabin was clean, nicely decorated, and fully equipped. Love that it was dog friendly too! Tony was a great host. He was very responsive, communicative, and personable. The setting was serene and peaceful. Would recommend.
Tony was such a kind and responsive host! We loved the place ! We did deal with gnats but Tony was helpful and got it taken care of! Regardless of that issues because we know things happen we still would want to come back and stay there ! We loved the views, the hot tub was amazing, and everything was cozy! Definitely will be back during fall season!
Host was very nice and welcoming. The kitchen was my absolute favorite. I enjoyed my stay!
We really enjoyed our anniversary weekend at the cabin. The fire pit and hot tub were great. Very private and serene property. Overall it was a great experience and would recommend the cabin to friends/family. The host was very friendly and got back to me via text very quickly. A few upgrades: provide more towels (only got 2 sets) or encourage guests to bring towels, raise the hammock (if you weigh more than 150 pounds you’ll be on the ground), the info/welcome book at the cabin was a bit outdated (info not relevant anymore or have changed). For example, they no longer provide robes or a washer and dryer. The book was also falling apart. There was conflicting info in the book and the emailed house info.
Thank you for choosing Heartwood Hollow for your anniversary weekend — I’m glad the fire pit, hot tub and privacy made it special. I appreciate the clear feedback about towels, the hammock, and the welcome book. I’ll make sure we add more towel sets and clarify towel guidance, raise or replace the hammock and add a weight note, and replace/update the welcome book so it matches the emailed house information and removes references to robes and a washer/dryer. Thanks again for recommending the cabin — I hope we can host you again.
Lovely quaint place to stay to getaway!
Wonderful secluded cabin, the decor was beautiful, can't wait to visit again
Tony was a great host. The only reason I didn’t give the stay experience a five star rating is because we did get to use the hot tub like planned. There was maintenance so it was not up to temperature the two evenings we could use it and then the weather impacted the next evening. Nothing Tony could do about that. The location was beautiful and it included everything needed for a fun stay in the woods. Tony was in constant communication and very responsive.
Great stay for work, pretty cabin and location. Driveway was very steep, would stay again
We had a great time for our getaway. This is a nice place, Tony was very responsive via text and we had a good experience.
Awesome place! Loved it! Has a hot tub and very home like!
Fantastic getaway location that provides the perfect amount of solitude and quiet along with an amazing night Skyview from the hot tub. Convenient to town and other attractions. Comfortable beds, stocked kitchen, and lots of wildlife just outside the windows. Outstanding location.
Wonderful stay.
Great place, it’s even better than on pictures.
We didn't realize the house was in a private resort. Not a problem. (Indeed, the additional security was comforting.) I guess we just missed that in the description. We understood it was a "lake-view" cabin. We viewed the lake after we drove around the mountain to it. Again, not a problem, just a misunderstanding. (Never found a place to go fishing but saw a lot of "No Fishing" signs.) Took a few minutes and a trip all the way around the house to get in because the screen door was stuck and felt like it was locked. A firm snatch freed it, and I was able to access the keypad. The stairs were a challenge for two old Senior Adults (one who needs assistance climbing stairs) but we seldom went anywhere, so.... And other than the incessant traffic by the place, it really is a nice place for a Western Maryland/West Virginia visit. Definitely a mountain experience. It was immaculately clean and furnished, in a beautiful setting in nature and the mountains, not too far removed from local attractions, activities, and resources; and secure. The immediate response from the host was welcome, too. If we had ever really needed anything, we knew he would respond immediately. That added to our sense of security, welcome, and service.
Thank you for your thoughtful review. I’m glad the cabin felt clean, well furnished, secure, and that my prompt responses added to your peace of mind. I’m sorry for the confusion about the private resort and lake access — I’ll update the listing to clarify resort entry, lake-view vs. lake-front, and the fishing restrictions. I also apologize for the stuck screen door and that the stairs were challenging; I’ll have maintenance service the door and will add clearer information about the stairs and accessibility. I appreciate your feedback about the traffic noise and the overall positives you noted — this helps us improve.
