We enjoyed our stay at Tony’s place. It was very peaceful and our dog loved exploring in the woods. We loved the hot tub and playing corn hole in the evenings. It’s about 20 minutes to the stores and Berkley spring area. We would definitely book again with Tony!

the property was beautiful exactly as described. It is located in the woods at the top of the mountain, with a 30 minute drive to civilization (restaurants, groceries, shopping and other small towns). Our only problems were the toilet didn't flush; which they had unsuccessfully tried to fix before we got there and were unable to reach the owner to replace it and the air conditioning stopped working and the house was 79 degrees during warm weather days. We received an apology and sorry there is no one available to fix it.

Great place, quiet and peaceful. Easy drive to get right into shenandoah and enjoy hiking and all the park has to offer.

The location was truly beautiful. If you’re looking for some time in nature to disconnect from WiFi it’s for you. The patios are lovely with great views. The inside is rustic and cozy. Things to note - low clearance vehicles may struggle to make it up the road and driveway. I was happy to have rented an SUV. Also the tap water is not drinkable so be sure to bring some with. Overall, I would definitely stay here again!

Had a terrific stay! Was looking for a nice getaway and the Cedar Owl was perfect! Easy to get around and out to Berkeley Springs, Cacapon State Park, etc.
Tony was great to communicate with and answered questions we had quickly and respectfully. The deer spotting was wonderful!! :-) Would most definitely come back!

Helaas hadden we last van bedbugs hier kwamen we de laatste dag achter door de vele beten die we hadden, en uitgroeide tot grote jeukende plekken op rug, gezicht en armen. Dat is een grote domper op onze ervaring helaas.

Beautiful house, outstanding view of the Potomac River Valley. The house was clean and well-maintained.Overall, I would definitely recommend this house to visitors to the area.

We had a wonderful stay at the Chalet. However, I feel the need to withhold a star in comparison to 5 star experiences I’ve had in the past vs price here.

Let me stress, we did not have a bad time. However, this property has a hot tub and plenty of river access for fishing nearby, all things my family and I planned to and did enjoy. Convenience was lacking due to a reserved amount of towels and no laundry access. Mind you, there is a washer and dryer on site. Guests do not have access as it is locked away. This is a secluded area and if you are traveling, packing an abundance of towels to make up for no access to laundry is quite the inconvenience.

A note on the kitchen - if pots and pans with nonstick coating, especially extremely worn and scratched coatings, make you weary, plan to bring your own pots and pans or purchase some at the Walmart nearby.

Lastly, there was an extremely strong chemical odor at this home. If you have a sensitive nose, maybe avoid it.

Great host overall

Everything was just as described, and the stay felt very comfortable and homey. We truly enjoyed our time here and would absolutely love to come back again. Highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking for a peaceful and cozy escape! ❤️🏡✨

This charming cabin has great views and is set back off the road. We enjoyed watching the wildlife in the evenings. Close to the National Park and quaint towns. The cabin can accommodate at least 8 people and is well stocked with things to entertain.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two days and had a wonderful time! The house is beautiful, surrounded by wildlife, and conveniently located for everything we wanted to do. It was only about an 18-minute drive to our hike at Cranny Crow.

A couple of tips: cell service is very limited in the area, so download your maps and plan your routes before leaving the house. I’d also recommend bringing groceries, as there aren’t any major grocery stores nearby.

We loved our stay and would definitely book again if we return to this area!

We had a great stay. The house is great, in a lovely location, and the deck is amazing. The house was just as pictured. Though the bathrooms and kitchen are little older, everything was clean and in good working order. The house feels very remote while still being in an easy drive to downtown Berkeley Springs. Tony was very communicative and gave clear directions to the house and area info. I don’t have 4WD and access was no problem. Lovely that it backs to sleepy creek wildlife management area.

One note, disclosed in the listing, is the outdoor cameras. I didn’t think much of it when booking, but I’ve never stayed in a house with outdoor cameras and they definitely impacted my sense of privacy. We of course weren’t doing anything inappropriate for camera, but (maybe because I’m a woman?) I felt very aware of the cameras while on the deck or using the hot tub. If you’re sensitive to that, it might impact whether this house is a fit. Otherwise, no hesitations recommending this place.

The house is beautiful, as well as the surroundings the photos truly don’t do it justice. Surrounded by nature it’s the perfect place if you’re just looking to disconnect. Would definitely recommend
