Christmas Cabin Rentals in Virginia & West Virginia
What Guests Are Saying About Their Blue Maple Cabin Stay
Road’s End Retreat
My family and I rented this beautiful home to host Thanksgiving, and it was amazing! It was exactly how the pictures looked, and the host was great and responsive. I will be booking here again! It definitely felt like home. 10/10 recommend to anyone considering.
Moonlight Ridge
We had a wonderful stay here! Nearly every night was spent in the hot tub and having a fire. Hiking at the nearby Kennedy Peak was fantastic and the downtown of Luray is really nice and only 20 minutes away.
Eagles Landing
The cabin was beautiful and fit our large group well. They were extremely detail oriented and I was pleasantly surprised they even had lots of Tupperware for leftovers. This is something most airbnbs overlook. Would definitely recommend!
Old Stonehouse
This is the second time we’ve stayed here, and we love it! We love this historic, old home. And it is a great location, maybe a mile from downtown Harper’s Ferry. They have always been a responsive host. And the hot tub is fun!
Wildwood Chalet
This home was clean and as-advertised. It suited our needs perfectly. They were responsive when we needed to contact them. The hot tub was a major draw for us and it worked perfectly. Thank you, Tony, and team!
River Lodge
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. The hot tub and river were an amazing combo! We look forward to coming back.
Christmas Around Your Blue Maple Cabin
Olde Tyme Christmas in Harpers Ferry
Harpers Ferry celebrates the season with Olde Tyme Christmas, a free festival usually held over the first two weekends of December. The historic streets of Lower Town are decorated for the holidays, shops stay open for the festival weekends and a tree lighting kicks things off. Check the festival's official site for the 2026 schedule before you go. Several of our Harpers Ferry cabins are only minutes from Lower Town, so you can walk the decorated streets and be back by the fire before dinner.
A Small-Town Christmas in Berkeley Springs
Berkeley Springs, officially the Town of Bath, turns 250 in 2026, and the celebration on Sunday, December 6 is planned to end with a community tree lighting and fireworks. Christmas at the Castle runs December 17 to 19, and the town's warm mineral springs are the best way to shake off a cold afternoon. Our Berkeley Springs cottages are close enough to town for an evening out and quiet enough to hear nothing but the woods when you get back.
Holiday Lights in the Shenandoah Valley
Christmas in the Valley at the Shenandoah County Fairgrounds in Woodstock is a drive-through light show that usually runs on weekend evenings from late November until just after Christmas. In Luray, the downtown tree lighting and the Christmas parade usually fall in early to mid December. Luray Caverns stays around 54°F all year, which makes it one of the most comfortable things to do on a cold day.
Winter Days in Shenandoah National Park
Shenandoah National Park stays open in winter, and a cold, clear morning on the trail comes with long views and almost no crowds. Skyline Drive closes sections during snow and ice, so check the park's road status before you head up. In Harpers Ferry, River Riders runs snow tubing in winter, weather permitting, which is an easy half day out with kids.
Christmas at the Cabin
Some of the best parts of a cabin Christmas happen without leaving the porch. Every home on this page has an indoor fireplace and a private hot tub, and most of our homes have full kitchens, so you can cook a real holiday meal instead of reheating one. Many of our cabins welcome dogs too, so nobody spends the holidays at the kennel.

For a cabin Christmas, the Shenandoah Valley is hard to beat. Luray has a downtown tree lighting, a Christmas parade and Luray Caverns, Woodstock has a drive-through light show, and Shenandoah National Park is minutes away for winter hikes. Our Luray cabins are about 1.5 to 2 hours from Washington, D.C.
Harpers Ferry and Berkeley Springs are two of our favorites. Harpers Ferry's Olde Tyme Christmas fills its historic Lower Town over two December weekends, and Berkeley Springs pairs small-town holiday events with its famous mineral springs. Both are walkable, full of local shops and an easy drive from D.C.
Cold, quiet and often beautiful. In the Eastern Panhandle, where Harpers Ferry and Berkeley Springs are, days are chilly and nights regularly drop below freezing. Snow is possible from December on but never guaranteed, so a cabin with a fireplace and hot tub keeps the trip cozy either way. Bring layers and check road conditions before mountain drives.
Our Harpers Ferry cabins are about an hour from D.C., Luray and the Shenandoah Valley about 1.5 to 2 hours, and Berkeley Springs about 2 to 2.5 hours. That makes a long Christmas weekend easy, even if you leave after work. See all our cabins near Washington, D.C.
