This is a great cabin if you want privacy and nature. The place is spacious and well cared for. The master bed is super comfortable. The wood stove pumps out a lot of heat, and if you don’t want to deal with that, the central heating is great too. The hot tub is a fine addition, too. The location is isolated–there’s not a lot of options nearby–but the kitchen is big and cooking was easy. Very well stocked kitchen. And we did find good restaurants in Wardensville. One caution–the second bedroom is only accessible by walking through the master bedroom. We didn’t mind, but you might.

As far as Tony goes he was very friendly and responsive when communicated with. We had a issue but Tony apologize and answered right back. Only issue we had is place wasnt very clean. Dont know if cleaners said they cleaned and didn’t or if it sat for awhile after last guest and could of been refreshed. But thats not against Tony. Definitely would try a different place of Tony’s.

This cabin is the perfect secluded escape for anyone looking to unplug and reconnect with nature. The location deep in the woods felt incredibly private and peaceful, yet it was easy to access.
The cabin itself is wonderfully cozy, clean, and clearly well-cared for. It immediately felt like a home away from home, with thoughtful touches everywhere. After a long day of hiking, soaking under the stars in the warm water was pure bliss and the perfect way to end every evening. It was clean, well-maintained, and perfectly situated to maximize the beautiful forest view.
The hosts were communicative and provided clear instructions, making check-in and check-out seamless. If you are looking for tranquility, comfort, and an exceptional place to unwind, look no further. Highly, highly recommend!

Overall, my wife and I had a pleasant and relaxing stay. The property was very quiet, which made it a peaceful getaway. We especially enjoyed the hot tub, although it was initially set to 74 degrees and took quite a long time to reach 104. The water also had a slight green tint, so we were only able to use it once during our visit.
The grill was a great feature, and we used it multiple times—it worked very well and was a nice addition to the stay. The oven was functional but could use an update, and the kitchen would benefit from a few more amenities such as a mixer or small appliances to make cooking easier.
The home was clean and comfortable, though the bathroom could use a few updates. A new shower head and some fresh paint would go a long way in improving the space, as there are visible areas where old shower rods had been removed and paint is peeling.
Despite these small issues, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Tony was great to book with.

It was such a secluded, calm stay. very relaxing! There is a bit of a drive if you’d like to eat places but we chose to stay local and enjoy the peace. Hot tub was a 10/10 and very comfy inside. will totally be back:)

If you are looking for a quiet area, this is definitely the place to be. I like the seclusion of the house. The downside is the phone service. There’s no signal up there but that was expected. I used Google Map to get there and didn’t find the house at first. I drove around for a moment, looking for one bar of service to send a text to Tony, who promptly responded back and helped us find the house.
I definitely recommend the place.

Overall, I had a very nice stay at the cabin. It’s in a fairly secluded location, so if you’re looking for an escape or some time in nature, this is a great option. My main complaint is that the grill didn’t work, which was disappointing because I was looking forward to using it. The grill wasn’t particularly well-maintained – it was very rusty, thanks to several large holes in the cover. Otherwise, the cabin is generally nice and the surrounding trees and stream are lovely.

Loved our stay at the cabin it really is a peaceful area with amazing views.The cabin was exactly as we hoped as my husband loves nature.We went with our 6 month old and the cabin was really cozy .Everything was great we had a little issue with the power going out for most of 1 day and the weather being on the chillier side but other than that perfect stay .

I really enjoyed my stay at Tony’s! I felt right at home and the rustic aesthetic and decor was so beautiful. Tony was responsive from the get-go, confirming that all the amenities I was hoping for were in working order, and going through the early check-in process.
The home was clean and tidy, very well decorated with all the logistical necessities- quality soap, shampoo, cleaning supplies, games, blankets and ALL the kitchen items you could ask for.
There were a few issues with lighting, stains on the couch, a working but old grill, a tiny leak during a heavy, heavy hail storm, etc. but nothing that bothered our stay!
It was a perfect place for two who needed to unwind at home, with the grill, fire pit, backyard creek, as well as enjoy the area, be in nature, enjoy picturesque drives and explore a new area. We stayed for 4 days and it was perfect!!

The hot tub was nice but we didn't use it because there was no door to access right off the house you have to walk outside to get to it. It would be nice if there was a door to access it directly from the house.

This air bnb is such a cozy cute find! The interior is more spacious and well designed than the photos give credit to! The exterior is very private and secluded giving you the privacy to enjoy nature! There really is no cell reception out there so do plan ahead for that. WiFi works well though once connected inside the house. Bed is very comfortable and clean!
My only things I’d have liked to know beforehand- no back door so you have to walk around the house to get to the hottub (not a big deal in summer but in winter it’s a freezing walk there). The oven temperature settings are worn off so you can’t see what you’re setting the oven to (again not a huge deal and there’s a thermostat inside the oven). The right two burners of the stove weren’t working (hopefully will be fixed for next stay as owners were very responsive).
Overall highly recommend! Lots of cute places to explore nearby (10-15 mins away). Do try Lost River General Store for ice cream and food! We loved our stay.

Enjoyed our NYE at Tony’s cabin. The kitchen was perfect for cooking all our meals. We had fun playing giant connect four, madlibs, and stargazing from the hot tub. The wood stove inside was a plus!

This house was truly a peaceful place to unplug and relax. The house is adorable, bed was supportive and everything we needed was there. The heat was warm, the hot tub was ready to go and the house was quiet as a mouse!
There were a few things that I wasn’t a fan of during the stay. Before you arrive, you get the house rules and information in a manual. The rule given that firearms are not allowed on the property made me unsettled. The house is secluded and has ZERO cell service. You want me to be in a house in the mountains, where predators are a dime a dozen with no way to call for help…. And leave my means of protection at home? I understand the property isn’t mine, but I found that rule unsettling for me.
We also wanted to check in earlier in the day, but there was some sort of technological issue that prevented it. We were asked multiple times if we wanted to come a day early or stay another day, but that didn’t fit our work schedule. I wish we could have checked in early.

We had a lovely couple of days in the West Virginia mountains at Tony’s cabin. Well-appointed kitchen and comfortable furniture and bed made our stay enjoyable. But the best thing of all was the hot tub under an amazing starry sky, no light pollution here!
The water at the cabin is sulphur-scented though good for everything but drinking. Recommend bringing your own drinking water.
Check out is at 10am and the house rules ask for the dishes to be washed and put away. Be aware that the dishwasher’s cycle runs about two hours.

This had to of been one of my most favorite getaways the hubby and I have been on. We had no complaints about our stay and about how welcomed we felt from the moment we booked. Tony is one of the easiest people to communicate with and was so extremely responsive and friendly. The cabin itself was one of the most peaceful and beautiful spots you could find with so much to do. Between the fire pit, hot tub and star gazing…felt like the perfect nature oasis. We loved hiking around the cabin and then being able to come back and soak in the hot tub right after! Can’t wait to come back with our kiddos next trip and can not thank Tony and his team enough for everything!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was tucked away back in the woods to make for a very peaceful stay. There is plenty to do in the area surrounding the cabin no matter what you’re into or staying in and enjoying the cabin itself is always a good choice too. Tony and the team provided a very enjoyable experience with giving out plenty of information and responding to questions expediently. Even if a problem does arise Tony and the team are quick to have it fixed. We would not hesitate to stay again.

Host is very proactive in his communications. He provides clear instructions prior to arrival. It is critical you download the house manual onto your phone prior to arrival. Part of the beauty of this area is that there is no cell signal. There is no house manual at the property, wifi password is in the digital manual. The location is beautiful. Adventurous roads and God’s country all around. Neighbors are friendly but it should be noted the only deck is at the front of the house in close proximity to the road. Nearly no night traffic, but quite a bit of working traffic through the day. Listening to the trees in the early morning is a treat. The gentle rain on the dying leaves sounds like a rain stick. Beautiful. Make sure to visit Lost and Found Pizza about 20 mins down the road! Excellent wood fired pizza. Very affordable escape from the cities.

I was looking for a secluded place in the woods and this is exactly that, it was nice to unwind for a weekend. You’re a little bit away from stores and stuff; but if you want a secluded, quiet weekend, this is the place to stay. Tony was very responsive and made sure to check up on our stay. Also loved that I got to bring the doggos along with no hesitations from Tony. I would definitely recommend this place!

We did get some snow and with the cold temps the road froze a little bit but they were cleared and traveling to/from was not an issue.

This cabin is perfect for a relaxing getaway! Decor has lots of character and the place has a surprising amount of space. We enjoyed the hot tub and wood burning fireplace, but ran out of time for the fire pit by the creek! Super comfy bed and fast wifi – really anything you’d need. They mean it when they say no cell service, so plan your routes ahead of time. Not too much around the area, but we loved Lost & Found Pizza and the hike up to Cranny Crow Overlook.

The positives; Tony’s place was beautiful and clean. Our checkin process was smooth, and Tony/his team let us know that the place was remote and did not have good service around so they gave us a heads up to make sure to download our map and checkin directions.
The negative; my husband and I did not consider snow being an issue. We were there for work but on the first day found getting out of the driveway and out of the backroads was definitely not safe. We reached out to the host to see if they had information about how long the snow was going to last, how often the roads were salted, etc. We know that the weather isn’t the host’s fault or responsibility, but we’re just wanting to communicate with someone from the area that knew what was going on. Communication during this time was very inconsistent and our questions were not answered clearly. We ended up leaving when the snow started melting and did not feel comfortable returning with us needing to travel for work.

Loved the house! Much larger than in the photos! Host was very responsive. We had an issue which we were able to fix. House was super clean, hottub worked great, loved the creek in the back, it snowed and it was magical!
Only item is I didnt know it was so close to the road, we didnt have an issue with the dog and cars outside because its snowed and we were inside more than we had planned.

A lovely cabin in the woods, away from the (very little) hustle and bustle of Lost City and Lost River — yet close enough to get to town quickly — and an incredibly peaceful place to spend a few days. If you’re lucky enough to get this space during the fall when leaves are changing, the colors are like another world. That said, it’s a bit pricey compared to other properties we’ve booked, and the cleaning fee is pretty exorbitant. Totally understand why it might be necessary for large groups, but for smaller ones, it seems egregious. Also, the host seems to prefer to communicate via text (and not the text notifications you get when the Airbnb app has a new message for you; I mean a direct text from the host), which is against Airbnb policy. I noted that I preferred communicating via the app because it protects both the host and the guest, but continued to receive direct texts. It’s a solid 3.5-star stay, all things considered.

This was an awesome vacation for me and my dog. Tony was very responsive and provided a manual for the house. All instructions were clear and everything was as pictured and described. The location was remote but the WiFi was excellent! I wish I would have stayed longer! Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to get away and unplug.

We had a great time at Tony’s cabin in Lost River! This spot is definitely remote and nestled in the woods. We came prepared with all of our own food and snacks, but this is a little bit of a drive if you need to gather supplies from town. The kitchen is perfectly stocked with all the utensils if you’re looking to hunker down for a trip and not leave.
The hot tub was so nice and the queen bed was comfortable. There were just two of us for this trip, so with kids this could be comfortable but with more than four adults you will be in a tighter squeeze. The bedrooms sit directly next to each other and you have to enter the larger bedroom to get to the bunk bedroom. For us, this of course was no issue but something to keep in mind.
Tony was a great host, super communicative and helpful. Thank you for a great stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Tony’s cabin in the woods! The cabin is deceptively spacious and perfect for our family of 3 and two small dogs. The cabin was also well appointed and had everything we needed for our stay, including a toddler training potty which was a nice surprise (that we needed!). Our daughter and dogs loved running around outside, but as other noted it is not fenced in and right off the road so take care. We loved the backyard, proximity to great hikes in both the local state park and national forest and the incredible fall foliage this time of year. Thanks Tony!

We loved our stay in Lost River this weekend, such a fun and quick trip from DC! Tony’s house was great, convenient location, comfortable, adorable and had everything we needed.
We loved the fire pit and hot tub especially. And were so happy we could bring our dog to the house.
We went for a great hike in Lost River State Park and had some really good food at Lost & Found pizza, and Lost River General Store.
We will be back again sometime for sure!

We loved our stay at Tony’s place! It was perfect for our birthday weekend get-a-way! Everything was clean and it was better than we expected. We did have a mouse in the kitchen but we were able to get it out. Tony is responsive and checked in on us during our stay. We will definitely be staying again in the future.

We loved the cleanliness of the cabin. The beds were comfy, clean soft linens. The hot tub was wonderful, as was the fire pit. It had soaps and shampoo. Also
feel very kid friendly. We loved enjoying the games, and of course that our pup could join the fun. Most of all the host was magnificent and answered right away when I had any questions.
Negative:
I feel the yard was neglected. It's fall yes, but the grass was extremely high…8 inches or so, and the flower beds could look better. They were full of dead weeds. Having to walk to the fire pit or hot tub would've been better with maintained lawn. If im setting on the porch I want it to feel nice, looking at flowers or something other than weeds. . Also, the water pump clicking anytime the water was on was kind of an annoyance but shut doors helped that. The hot tub quit our last night but honestly just a fluke. We hated it but the host did everything he could to help from afar.

Tony’s place is a clean, cozy cabin in peaceful surroundings. There is plenty of wildlife around and many local trails to hike and explore. The Wi-Fi worked great for conducting work meetings. Would definitely recommend. Cell coverage is spotty, at best, but once you get to Wi-Fi, you’ll be back online.

Tony was a great host. Proactively communicated, and was genuinely helpful all around. The home was better than expected, squeaky clean, and a great place to escape.
Also, the bed is probably the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in.
If you have a dog, they will love the space, keep in mind it’s not fenced in. But if your dogs recall is good, you don’t have much to worry about as not many cars drive through, and you can hear them coming before they do.

Nice little cabin for a quiet getaway. The furniture and beds were very comfortable and the hot tub was a nice bonus.
Tony was very communicative and accommodated an earlier check-in for me; text messages weren’t received until later since there is no cell service at the location. Overall, I got the basics of what I wanted – a quiet getaway with internet and a hot tub.

Tony is an amazing host and this little cabin was perfect for our friend group to get together at. The hot tub was fun, the decor was super cute, and you can’t beat the local surroundings.

This is a very cute home. Perfect for a small family. Tony is a very active and responsive host. Check in was very easy. Made our first trip to WV enjoyable. Lots of games and outdoor sitting space. The side yard is nice a big which was perfect for our dogs and outdoor games.

This is a great cabin if you want privacy and nature. The place is spacious and well cared for. The master bed is super comfortable. The wood stove pumps out a lot of heat, and if you don't want to deal with that, the central heating is great too. The hot tub is a fine addition, too. The location is isolated--there's not a lot of options nearby--but the kitchen is big and cooking was easy. Very well stocked kitchen. And we did find good restaurants in Wardensville. One caution--the second bedroom is only accessible by walking through the master bedroom. We didn't mind, but you might.

We had an incredible and peaceful stay at Tony’s place. It’s silent, cozy and there’s plenty to see at and very near the cabin. The bed is comfy, kitchen is well stocked and everything is there so you really don’t have to leave. Came back recharged. Highly recommend!

As far as Tony goes he was very friendly and responsive when communicated with. We had a issue but Tony apologize and answered right back. Only issue we had is place wasnt very clean. Dont know if cleaners said they cleaned and didn't or if it sat for awhile after last guest and could of been refreshed. But thats not against Tony. Definitely would try a different place of Tony's.

Overall, my wife and I had a pleasant and relaxing stay. The property was very quiet, which made it a peaceful getaway. We especially enjoyed the hot tub, although it was initially set to 74 degrees and took quite a long time to reach 104. The water also had a slight green tint, so we were only able to use it once during our visit.
The grill was a great feature, and we used it multiple times—it worked very well and was a nice addition to the stay. The oven was functional but could use an update, and the kitchen would benefit from a few more amenities such as a mixer or small appliances to make cooking easier.
The home was clean and comfortable, though the bathroom could use a few updates. A new shower head and some fresh paint would go a long way in improving the space, as there are visible areas where old shower rods had been removed and paint is peeling.
Despite these small issues, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Tony was great to book with.

If you are looking for a quiet area, this is definitely the place to be. I like the seclusion of the house. The downside is the phone service. There's no signal up there but that was expected. I used Google Map to get there and didn't find the house at first. I drove around for a moment, looking for one bar of service to send a text to Tony, who promptly responded back and helped us find the house.
I definitely recommend the place.

Overall, I had a very nice stay at the cabin. It's in a fairly secluded location, so if you're looking for an escape or some time in nature, this is a great option. My main complaint is that the grill didn't work, which was disappointing because I was looking forward to using it. The grill wasn't particularly well-maintained - it was very rusty, thanks to several large holes in the cover. Otherwise, the cabin is generally nice and the surrounding trees and stream are lovely.

Tony was kind and communicative. Overall, the place was comfortable, but we had some trouble finding it because there's no house number and zero WiFi. We did have the map but still drove past the place a couple times before spotting it. The bathroom shower had a fabric curtain (no plastic liner) with a large brown and yellow stain on it and smelled like rust and a bit mildewy. The ceiling in the kitchen had water damage and a bit of mold smell. It rained a lot and the ceiling actually began leaking on our last day. It's a cute place, the hot tub is fabulous, and the land is lovely, but I think a bit more maintenance would make it a 5-star experience.

Initially booked a cabin but due to a damaged gravel driveway on steep incline (not listed) asked to cancel bc it would damaged my vehicle. It was approaching night in a very rural area with no internet so I had to find WiFi at a restaurant. I was informed that I could not cancel but to be switched to another one of Tony’s properties. Our hands were tied and we didn’t check in til after 8pm to a smaller and not ideal cabin. I sent pics to Airbnb about the concerns. I was never contacted by the host Tony about several issues we had. Also the price. The initial cabin was ~750. The alternate was ~ 550. A 200 dollar difference. I have been fighting with Airbnb and the agency host to get the overpayment of 200 for a couple weeks now. Airbnb told me I had to pay the higher price for the smaller cabin even tho I have a screenshot of the listed price. So essentially it’s like going into a store to buy a shirt for 50 $ and insist they take 100. How is this even legal? Ridiculous!

I really enjoyed my stay at Tony’s! I felt right at home and the rustic aesthetic and decor was so beautiful. Tony was responsive from the get-go, confirming that all the amenities I was hoping for were in working order, and going through the early check-in process.
The home was clean and tidy, very well decorated with all the logistical necessities- quality soap, shampoo, cleaning supplies, games, blankets and ALL the kitchen items you could ask for.
There were a few issues with lighting, stains on the couch, a working but old grill, a tiny leak during a heavy, heavy hail storm, etc. but nothing that bothered our stay!
It was a perfect place for two who needed to unwind at home, with the grill, fire pit, backyard creek, as well as enjoy the area, be in nature, enjoy picturesque drives and explore a new area. We stayed for 4 days and it was perfect!!

This air bnb is such a cozy cute find! The interior is more spacious and well designed than the photos give credit to! The exterior is very private and secluded giving you the privacy to enjoy nature! There really is no cell reception out there so do plan ahead for that. WiFi works well though once connected inside the house. Bed is very comfortable and clean!
My only things I’d have liked to know beforehand- no back door so you have to walk around the house to get to the hottub (not a big deal in summer but in winter it’s a freezing walk there). The oven temperature settings are worn off so you can’t see what you’re setting the oven to (again not a huge deal and there’s a thermostat inside the oven). The right two burners of the stove weren’t working (hopefully will be fixed for next stay as owners were very responsive).
Overall highly recommend! Lots of cute places to explore nearby (10-15 mins away). Do try Lost River General Store for ice cream and food! We loved our stay.

This house was truly a peaceful place to unplug and relax. The house is adorable, bed was supportive and everything we needed was there. The heat was warm, the hot tub was ready to go and the house was quiet as a mouse!
There were a few things that I wasn’t a fan of during the stay. Before you arrive, you get the house rules and information in a manual. The rule given that firearms are not allowed on the property made me unsettled. The house is secluded and has ZERO cell service. You want me to be in a house in the mountains, where predators are a dime a dozen with no way to call for help…. And leave my means of protection at home? I understand the property isn’t mine, but I found that rule unsettling for me.
We also wanted to check in earlier in the day, but there was some sort of technological issue that prevented it. We were asked multiple times if we wanted to come a day early or stay another day, but that didn’t fit our work schedule. I wish we could have checked in early.

We had a lovely couple of days in the West Virginia mountains at Tony's cabin. Well-appointed kitchen and comfortable furniture and bed made our stay enjoyable. But the best thing of all was the hot tub under an amazing starry sky, no light pollution here!
The water at the cabin is sulphur-scented though good for everything but drinking. Recommend bringing your own drinking water.
Check out is at 10am and the house rules ask for the dishes to be washed and put away. Be aware that the dishwasher's cycle runs about two hours.

This had to of been one of my most favorite getaways the hubby and I have been on. We had no complaints about our stay and about how welcomed we felt from the moment we booked. Tony is one of the easiest people to communicate with and was so extremely responsive and friendly. The cabin itself was one of the most peaceful and beautiful spots you could find with so much to do. Between the fire pit, hot tub and star gazing…felt like the perfect nature oasis. We loved hiking around the cabin and then being able to come back and soak in the hot tub right after! Can’t wait to come back with our kiddos next trip and can not thank Tony and his team enough for everything!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was tucked away back in the woods to make for a very peaceful stay. There is plenty to do in the area surrounding the cabin no matter what you’re into or staying in and enjoying the cabin itself is always a good choice too. Tony and the team provided a very enjoyable experience with giving out plenty of information and responding to questions expediently. Even if a problem does arise Tony and the team are quick to have it fixed. We would not hesitate to stay again.

Host is very proactive in his communications. He provides clear instructions prior to arrival. It is critical you download the house manual onto your phone prior to arrival. Part of the beauty of this area is that there is no cell signal. There is no house manual at the property, wifi password is in the digital manual. The location is beautiful. Adventurous roads and God's country all around. Neighbors are friendly but it should be noted the only deck is at the front of the house in close proximity to the road. Nearly no night traffic, but quite a bit of working traffic through the day. Listening to the trees in the early morning is a treat. The gentle rain on the dying leaves sounds like a rain stick. Beautiful. Make sure to visit Lost and Found Pizza about 20 mins down the road! Excellent wood fired pizza. Very affordable escape from the cities.

I was looking for a secluded place in the woods and this is exactly that, it was nice to unwind for a weekend. You’re a little bit away from stores and stuff; but if you want a secluded, quiet weekend, this is the place to stay. Tony was very responsive and made sure to check up on our stay. Also loved that I got to bring the doggos along with no hesitations from Tony. I would definitely recommend this place!

-When receiving the address there was no numerical number. You had to download the house rules to see the full address. That was challenging as there was no cellular signal.

-An extreme amount of small bugs (I understand we are in the woods). Need to seal cracks for easy entry of bugs.
-The smoke detector battery was low and it beeped the entire weekend. Very very hard to sleep at night.

The location is great. And Tony is very responsive. Unfortunately there was a dying mouse on the kitchen floor upon arrival. At night you could hear the mice scratching behind the bedroom wall. They did sent out an exterminator while we were there but none the less it still was something we had to deal with.

We did get some snow and with the cold temps the road froze a little bit but they were cleared and traveling to/from was not an issue.

This cabin is perfect for a relaxing getaway! Decor has lots of character and the place has a surprising amount of space. We enjoyed the hot tub and wood burning fireplace, but ran out of time for the fire pit by the creek! Super comfy bed and fast wifi - really anything you’d need. They mean it when they say no cell service, so plan your routes ahead of time. Not too much around the area, but we loved Lost & Found Pizza and the hike up to Cranny Crow Overlook.

The positives; Tony’s place was beautiful and clean. Our checkin process was smooth, and Tony/his team let us know that the place was remote and did not have good service around so they gave us a heads up to make sure to download our map and checkin directions.
The negative; my husband and I did not consider snow being an issue. We were there for work but on the first day found getting out of the driveway and out of the backroads was definitely not safe. We reached out to the host to see if they had information about how long the snow was going to last, how often the roads were salted, etc. We know that the weather isn’t the host’s fault or responsibility, but we’re just wanting to communicate with someone from the area that knew what was going on. Communication during this time was very inconsistent and our questions were not answered clearly. We ended up leaving when the snow started melting and did not feel comfortable returning with us needing to travel for work.

Only item is I didnt know it was so close to the road, we didnt have an issue with the dog and cars outside because its snowed and we were inside more than we had planned.

A lovely cabin in the woods, away from the (very little) hustle and bustle of Lost City and Lost River — yet close enough to get to town quickly — and an incredibly peaceful place to spend a few days. If you’re lucky enough to get this space during the fall when leaves are changing, the colors are like another world. That said, it’s a bit pricey compared to other properties we’ve booked, and the cleaning fee is pretty exorbitant. Totally understand why it might be necessary for large groups, but for smaller ones, it seems egregious. Also, the host seems to prefer to communicate via text (and not the text notifications you get when the Airbnb app has a new message for you; I mean a direct text from the host), which is against Airbnb policy. I noted that I preferred communicating via the app because it protects both the host and the guest, but continued to receive direct texts. It’s a solid 3.5-star stay, all things considered.

This was an awesome vacation for me and my dog. Tony was very responsive and provided a manual for the house. All instructions were clear and everything was as pictured and described. We had a great time at Tony’s cabin in Lost River! This spot is definitely remote and nestled in the woods. We came prepared with all of our own food and snacks, but this is a little bit of a drive if you need to gather supplies from town. The kitchen is perfectly stocked with all the utensils if you’re looking to hunker down for a trip and not leave.
The hot tub was so nice and the queen bed was comfortable. There were just two of us for this trip, so with kids this could be comfortable but with more than four adults you will be in a tighter squeeze. The bedrooms sit directly next to each other and you have to enter the larger bedroom to get to the bunk bedroom. For us, this of course was no issue but something to keep in mind.
Tony was a great host, super communicative and helpful. Thank you for a great stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Tony's cabin in the woods! The cabin is deceptively spacious and perfect for our family of 3 and two small dogs. The cabin was also well appointed and had everything we needed for our stay, including a toddler training potty which was a nice surprise (that we needed!). Our daughter and dogs loved running around outside, but as other noted it is not fenced in and right off the road so take care. We loved the backyard, proximity to great hikes in both the local state park and national forest and the incredible fall foliage this time of year. Thanks Tony!

We loved our stay in Lost River this weekend, such a fun and quick trip from DC! Tony’s house was great, convenient location, comfortable, adorable and had everything we needed.
We loved the fire pit and hot tub especially. And were so happy we could bring our dog to the house.
We went for a great hike in Lost River State Park and had some really good food at Lost & Found pizza, and Lost River General Store.
We will be back again sometime for sure!

We loved the cleanliness of the cabin. The beds were comfy, clean soft linens. The hot tub was wonderful, as was the fire pit. It had soaps and shampoo. Also
feel very kid friendly. We loved enjoying the games, and of course that our pup could join the fun. Most of all the host was magnificent and answered right away when I had any questions.
Negative:
I feel the yard was neglected. It's fall yes, but the grass was extremely high...8 inches or so, and the flower beds could look better. They were full of dead weeds. Having to walk to the fire pit or hot tub would've been better with maintained lawn. If im setting on the porch I want it to feel nice, looking at flowers or something other than weeds. . Also, the water pump clicking anytime the water was on was kind of an annoyance but shut doors helped that. The hot tub quit our last night but honestly just a fluke. We hated it but the host did everything he could to help from afar.

Tony’s place is a clean, cozy cabin in peaceful surroundings. There is plenty of wildlife around and many local trails to hike and explore. The Wi-Fi worked great for conducting work meetings. Would definitely recommend. Cell coverage is spotty, at best, but once you get to Wi-Fi, you’ll be back online.

Tony was a great host. Proactively communicated, and was genuinely helpful all around. The home was better than expected, squeaky clean, and a great place to escape.
Also, the bed is probably the most comfortable bed I've slept in.
If you have a dog, they will love the space, keep in mind it's not fenced in. But if your dogs recall is good, you don't have much to worry about as not many cars drive through, and you can hear them coming before they do.

Nice little cabin for a quiet getaway. The furniture and beds were very comfortable and the hot tub was a nice bonus.
Tony was very communicative and accommodated an earlier check-in for me; text messages weren't received until later since there is no cell service at the location. Overall, I got the basics of what I wanted - a quiet getaway with internet and a hot tub.

Tony is an amazing host and this little cabin was perfect for our friend group to get together at. The hot tub was fun, the decor was super cute, and you can’t beat the local surroundings.

Beautiful and serene. We had a wonderful stay. We enjoyed sitting by the stream and relaxing in the hot-tub. Very clean and comfortable. A great place to unplug and refresh. Highly recommended.

This is a very cute home. Perfect for a small family. Tony is a very active and responsive host. Check in was very easy. Made our first trip to WV enjoyable. Lots of games and outdoor sitting space. The side yard is nice a big which was perfect for our dogs and outdoor games.

Tony is great and so is her place. If you’re looking for secluded but nice this is the place for you. Nice cozy cabin tucked away in the forest.
