Cabin was a true mountain retreat! Checked all of our boxes. Creek out back, fire pit, hot tub and adorable cabin! Surrounded by mountains, what else could we want! fantastic!

This had to of been one of my most favorite getaways the hubby and I have been on. We had no complaints about our stay and about how welcomed we felt from the moment we booked. Tony is one of the easiest people to communicate with and was so extremely responsive and friendly. The cabin itself was one of the most peaceful and beautiful spots you could find with so much to do. Between the fire pit, hot tub and star gazing…felt like the perfect nature oasis. We loved hiking around the cabin and then being able to come back and soak in the hot tub right after! Can’t wait to come back with our kiddos next trip and can not thank Tony and his team enough for everything!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was tucked away back in the woods to make for a very peaceful stay. There is plenty to do in the area surrounding the cabin no matter what you’re into or staying in and enjoying the cabin itself is always a good choice too. Tony and the team provided a very enjoyable experience with giving out plenty of information and responding to questions expediently. Even if a problem does arise Tony and the team are quick to have it fixed. We would not hesitate to stay again.

Host is very proactive in his communications. He provides clear instructions prior to arrival. It is critical you download the house manual onto your phone prior to arrival. Part of the beauty of this area is that there is no cell signal. There is no house manual at the property, wifi password is in the digital manual. The location is beautiful. Adventurous roads and God’s country all around. Neighbors are friendly but it should be noted the only deck is at the front of the house in close proximity to the road. Nearly no night traffic, but quite a bit of working traffic through the day. Listening to the trees in the early morning is a treat. The gentle rain on the dying leaves sounds like a rain stick. Beautiful. Make sure to visit Lost and Found Pizza about 20 mins down the road! Excellent wood fired pizza. Very affordable escape from the cities.

I was looking for a secluded place in the woods and this is exactly that, it was nice to unwind for a weekend. You’re a little bit away from stores and stuff; but if you want a secluded, quiet weekend, this is the place to stay. Tony was very responsive and made sure to check up on our stay. Also loved that I got to bring the doggos along with no hesitations from Tony. I would definitely recommend this place!

This little house on the mountains is perfect for those wanting to escape and be in nature. I have stayed at a lot of Air BnB’s and the communication level was 5 stars for sure! There is not much to do around the area, but isn’t that kind of the point of this place? Escape, relax, and enjoy the nature! The home was very cute and homey! We all slept great and had a wonderful time!

We loved our stay at Tony’s cabin! It was so peaceful and the location is perfect if you’re looking for some peace and quiet. The home itself is very well taken care of and there is everything there that you could need, plus some! Everything about this trip was a positive experience and I would totally book with them again 🙂 We did get some snow and with the cold temps the road froze a little bit but they were cleared and traveling to/from was not an issue. Definitely recommend this cabin if you’re planning your next get-away!

We enjoyed our stay. It was secluded yet not too far from town. The cabin had everything you needed. The huge connect four game was a favorite for our 4 year old. The hot tub was nice. The beds were very comfortable and had plenty of pillows and extra blankets

This cabin is perfect for a relaxing getaway! Decor has lots of character and the place has a surprising amount of space. We enjoyed the hot tub and wood burning fireplace, but ran out of time for the fire pit by the creek! Super comfy bed and fast wifi – really anything you’d need. They mean it when they say no cell service, so plan your routes ahead of time. Not too much around the area, but we loved Lost & Found Pizza and the hike up to Cranny Crow Overlook.

The positives; Tony’s place was beautiful and clean. Our checkin process was smooth, and Tony/his team let us know that the place was remote and did not have good service around so they gave us a heads up to make sure to download our map and checkin directions. The negative; my husband and I did not consider snow being an issue. We were there for work but on the first day found getting out of the driveway and out of the backroads was definitely not safe. We reached out to the host to see if they had information about how long the snow was going to last, how often the roads were salted, etc. We know that the weather isn’t the host’s fault or responsibility, but we’re just wanting to communicate with someone from the area that knew what was going on. Communication during this time was very inconsistent and our questions were not answered clearly. We ended up leaving when the snow started melting and did not feel comfortable returning with us needing to travel for work.

Loved the house! Much larger than in the photos! Host was very responsive. We had an issue which we were able to fix. House was super clean, hottub worked great, loved the creek in the back, it snowed and it was magical! Only item is I didnt know it was so close to the road, we didnt have an issue with the dog and cars outside because its snowed and we were inside more than we had planned.

A lovely cabin in the woods, away from the (very little) hustle and bustle of Lost City and Lost River — yet close enough to get to town quickly — and an incredibly peaceful place to spend a few days. If you’re lucky enough to get this space during the fall when leaves are changing, the colors are like another world. That said, it’s a bit pricey compared to other properties we’ve booked, and the cleaning fee is pretty exorbitant. Totally understand why it might be necessary for large groups, but for smaller ones, it seems egregious. Also, the host seems to prefer to communicate via text (and not the text notifications you get when the Airbnb app has a new message for you; I mean a direct text from the host), which is against Airbnb policy. I noted that I preferred communicating via the app because it protects both the host and the guest, but continued to receive direct texts. It’s a solid 3.5-star stay, all things considered.

This was an awesome vacation for me and my dog. Tony was very responsive and provided a manual for the house. All instructions were clear and everything was as pictured and described. The location was remote but the WiFi was excellent! I wish I would have stayed longer! Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to get away and unplug.

We had a great time at Tony’s cabin in Lost River! This spot is definitely remote and nestled in the woods. We came prepared with all of our own food and snacks, but this is a little bit of a drive if you need to gather supplies from town. The kitchen is perfectly stocked with all the utensils if you’re looking to hunker down for a trip and not leave. The hot tub was so nice and the queen bed was comfortable. There were just two of us for this trip, so with kids this could be comfortable but with more than four adults you will be in a tighter squeeze. The bedrooms sit directly next to each other and you have to enter the larger bedroom to get to the bunk bedroom. For us, this of course was no issue but something to keep in mind. Tony was a great host, super communicative and helpful. Thank you for a great stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Tony’s cabin in the woods! The cabin is deceptively spacious and perfect for our family of 3 and two small dogs. The cabin was also well appointed and had everything we needed for our stay, including a toddler training potty which was a nice surprise (that we needed!). Our daughter and dogs loved running around outside, but as other noted it is not fenced in and right off the road so take care. We loved the backyard, proximity to great hikes in both the local state park and national forest and the incredible fall foliage this time of year. Thanks Tony!

We loved our stay in Lost River this weekend, such a fun and quick trip from DC! Tony’s house was great, convenient location, comfortable, adorable and had everything we needed. We loved the fire pit and hot tub especially. And were so happy we could bring our dog to the house. We went for a great hike in Lost River State Park and had some really good food at Lost & Found pizza, and Lost River General Store. We will be back again sometime for sure!

We loved our stay at Tony’s place! It was perfect for our birthday weekend get-a-way! Everything was clean and it was better than we expected. We did have a mouse in the kitchen but we were able to get it out. Tony is responsive and checked in on us during our stay. We will definitely be staying again in the future.

Positive: We loved the cleanliness of the cabin. The beds were comfy, clean soft linens. The hot tub was wonderful, as was the fire pit. It had soaps and shampoo. Also feel very kid friendly. We loved enjoying the games, and of course that our pup could join the fun. Most of all the host was magnificent and answered right away when I had any questions. Negative: I feel the yard was neglected. It's fall yes, but the grass was extremely high…8 inches or so, and the flower beds could look better. They were full of dead weeds. Having to walk to the fire pit or hot tub would've been better with maintained lawn. If im setting on the porch I want it to feel nice, looking at flowers or something other than weeds. . Also, the water pump clicking anytime the water was on was kind of an annoyance but shut doors helped that. The hot tub quit our last night but honestly just a fluke. We hated it but the host did everything he could to help from afar.

Tony’s place is a clean, cozy cabin in peaceful surroundings. There is plenty of wildlife around and many local trails to hike and explore. The Wi-Fi worked great for conducting work meetings. Would definitely recommend. Cell coverage is spotty, at best, but once you get to Wi-Fi, you’ll be back online.

Lovely cabin! We had a great stay!

Tony was a great host. Proactively communicated, and was genuinely helpful all around. The home was better than expected, squeaky clean, and a great place to escape. Also, the bed is probably the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in. If you have a dog, they will love the space, keep in mind it’s not fenced in. But if your dogs recall is good, you don’t have much to worry about as not many cars drive through, and you can hear them coming before they do.

Tony was very communicative and accommodated an earlier check-in for me; text messages weren’t received until later since there is no cell service at the location. Overall, I got the basics of what I wanted – a quiet getaway with internet and a hot tub.

Tony’s cabin was a perfect getaway spot to the beautiful mountains of WV. I am super picky about cleanliness, and I felt 100 percent comfortable in this home. It is clean and as described, with tasteful decorations and everything you need to enjoy your stay. Beds are comfortable; hot tub is great (and also clean!). If you want more action, there’s plenty to do when venturing out from the cabin—hiking, country drives, and cute stores and farm markets in surrounding towns. Luray Caverns in VA is about an hour away. Tony is super responsive and stays in touch over text with all the info you need to check in and out easily and if you need info on the house or the area. Highly recommend this Airbnb. Thanks, Tony!

The house was very cozy, clean, and comfortable (and well-stocked), and Tony was a great host. Very responsive and provided recommendations of things to do in the area. The house is in a beautiful location. Once the skies cleared up, the star-gazing was first rate. We very much appreciated the flash-lights in the kitchen drawer for walking the dog at night, as we didn’t think to pack ours, and it was much darker here at night than we’re used to at home. We spent a couple of days hiking around Lost River State Park, which is a short drive away, and hope to make a return trip at some point to do more exploring. Beautiful, clean, and cozy cabin! Tony was a great host. We loved the peaceful sound of the water from the stream in the back. It even snowed one day while we were there so that was a bonus feature! It was nice to build a fire in the wood-burning stove or get in the hot tub outside and look at the gorgeous trees surrounding us. BTW, I’m not sure if this is a double post because we ended up booking another night separate from our original booking so I keep getting emails to write a review from airbnb and I’m very confused because I wrote one a few days ago haha =)

My Wife and I stayed at Tony’s cabin for a little weekend getaway and we loved it! The cabin is decorated beautifully and it was spotless clean. We loved being able to lounge in the hot tub and heading the creek right next to it. We were a little surprised by how close the cabin was to the road. By the end of the trip we were wishing we could stay a few more days as we just kept falling in love with it more and more. Thanks Tony!

We had a great time at Tony’s place. The cabin was great and we loved being able to cook in the kitchen and spend time in the hot tub. It is pretty remote, so be sure to keep that in mind. We loved getting away from it all. And I had no problem kicking back and just enjoying the cabin. On Saturday we drove to the Wolf Gap Recreation Area to do a hike and then to a brewery. Then it was about an hour drive back to the cabin. On Sunday a few others went to Lost River State Park to hike a little. The one thing to keep in mind is that to get to the second bedroom (the one with the bunks), you have to go through the main bedroom. This didn’t bother us since we were all really close friends. And this would probably be a plus for families. Just something to keep in mind. Oh and the wifi was fantastic. So even though it felt remote, we could still stream movies.

Tony is a fantastic host! The house manual is incredibly detailed and very helpful. The cabin itself was extremely clean and beautifully decorated. The cabin is private but on the road and not as isolated as we thought however, the road is not busy at all.

We enjoyed our stay very much! Great if you have kids. There were tons of games and activities. The place was very cute and comfy! The kitchen amenities were very nice. The hot tub was awesome. We enjoyed the wood stove very much.

Our family had a wonderful time at Tony’s hideaway in the hills. It was very peaceful and quiet. The stars at night were amazing, especially when you view them from the hot tub. Enjoy curling up near the woodburning stove with a good book or movie. The kitchen is where I spent much of my time unless I was by the grill. We LOVED staying at the cabin! It was charming, comfortable and clean. Tony was a great host! His house manual was incredibly in depth and you could tell he genuinely cares about people enjoying their stay! We are looking forward to visiting one of Tony’s other properties!

We wanted a quiet, woodsy place to usher in the new year, and Tony’s place suited that purpose well. The simple but well-furnished and comfortable cabin is situated by a pretty brook, close to the woods and near the end of a not-too-traveled road. On Tony’s recommendation we rented an AWD SUV for the trip, but it was entirely unnecessary for the weather we had. Our little car would have been more than adequate for the drive. Tony provided all the information we needed. Note that there is no wireless service in the area, so you’re entirely dependent on the (good) internet connection for communication, including with Tony, who messaged us during the trip: we didn’t see his messages until the next day when we were driving back. All in all, it was a nice place for the sort of mini-holiday we wanted.

Wonderful getaway!

Tony was quick to respond to all our requests. The cabin was clean and well stocked.

The cabin was perfect for our mini vacation away from city life and with a fur child. It was stocked with what we needed and we picked up a few things at the corner mart or the dollar general, a few miles from there. Amazing views of the night sky out there and hot tub was nice in this snowy weather. Tony was a great host and communicated before during and after our stay. Highly recommend staying here for a peaceful getaway!

The Mathias, WV AirBNB that Tony hosted was absolutely spectacular! The views and drive up to the cabin is so special. I saw a bald eagle soaring above the mountains terrain, a huge buck crossing the road and a hawk perched on a tree surveying the landscape. Arriving to the cabin is easy and efficient with clear instructions, Tony made me feel like any communication between us was of the utmost importance and I felt very confident if I had any issues he would communicate with me immediately. The cabin is very spacious and uniquely charming with absolutely everything you could need for a fun filled adventure. All the amenities are very high quality, I had a great time playing GIANT connect four and laughing the day away in the hot tub! I would highly recommend this stay to anyone and cannot wait to go back to wild and wonderful West Virginia 🙂

What a fabulous stay! I’m not one for the outdoors but we came to celebrate my boyfriends 30th who loves the outdoors. And I’ll tell you, we both left satisfied. Cabin was extremely clean and stocked with everything we needed! Hot tub was amazing and easy to access. the scenery is amazing! We only left the cabin to pick up firewood, and the drive to food lion was beautiful. The cabin is in a perfect spot on the mountain. Will definitely be coming back

Super clean, well stocked, quiet, modern cabin with great service (thank you Tony for your hospitality!). Finding the place, driving in, and checking in were a breeze despite the cabin’s very rural location. Very fast WiFi (which made up for no cell phone reception in the area), great TV, hot tub is super clean and works well. Tony is very communicative and helpful before and during our stay. It’s great to have a host who is so responsive and reliable when staying in a remote cabin. Don’t be fooled by the modest appearance of this cabin on the outside. Upon walking in, we discovered a little paradise in the woods. The cabin is VERY CLEAN and has wooden ceiling, floor, and walls, and is truly romantic. Throughout the cabin there are many (artificial) plants. We love the life these plants bring to the cabin. The living room is thoughtfully and beautifully refurbished with comfy sofas and cushions; on the shelf and right in front of the TV are fall-themed decorations such as foliage leaves. They clearly care about the cabin to rotate the decorations seasonably. While the location may be rustic, the cabin is full of modern creature comfort. Behind the sofa is cute wood burning furnace stove to provide warmth (they also have excellent A/C!). The main bedroom is quite spacious with plenty of storage, drawers, and ingenuous designer touches such as the elegant hanger rod to the side (no need for a space consuming wardrobe!). Curtains block out light pretty well for sleeping. The queen bed is very comfortable. We slept well. Walking through the main bedroom we found a cute little kid’s bedroom with a bunker bed. This room is also thoughtfully decked out with warm (but not yellow!) lights, drawers, functional and modern furniture. Again here there’s a rod with plenty of hangers on the wall. They work with smaller space quite well and efficiently. It’s both modern and smart. The dining room has autumn decors as well, and the dining table and chairs set is sleek, modern, and inviting (the white contrast well with the wood all around). The bathroom is well stocked with a hair dryer (!), shampoo, shower gel, and toilet papers, a rarity among Air BnBs. There’s a door in the bathroom that opens to the laundry and mechanics room. We love how clean the place is and how thoughtful they are in all the small touches. Plenty of face and bath towels! In front of the toilet and in front of the sink are comfy little rugs! The kitchen is spacious and full of up-to-date appliances; everything looks and feels so new and clean. Plenty of trays for the oven, and there’s even a brand new, complete BBQ tool kit (there’s a grill on the porch). There’s olive oil and simple condiments though we did bring our own. The highlight is the hot tub. It felt new (and it is well maintained). It is all the way in the back of the house (watch out for potentially slippery slope). The hot tub faces the woods (there’s a stream in the back though it’s dry during this time). Very serene and romantic. The road is paved all the way up to this cabin (which is directly across from Trout Pass Park, not sure what it is about but the entrance looks grand). Beyond this cabin it becomes dirt road. Very few cars ever come through. The whole place is just so quiet. We came to climb the famous Chimney Rock and to take in the beautiful fall foliage. We had a great time.

Though it’s far out, you can get to the Walmart pretty quickly & there’s some great apple orchards nearby. Great getaway! Highly recommend.

Tony’s cabin was perfect! It was a cute rustic cabin that way in the PERFECT location – middle of nowhere!! The only thing I regret is not staying longer! It was a great quick getaway trip for me and my son and our dog!

Amazing cabin off the beaten path! We came in on the paved side of the road but used the opposite direction to get groceries and food out, be careful it’s a windy dirt road with steep sides but beautiful! The town of Moorefield has some quaint food places, Walmart and sheetz! The Burger King was so clean and good too. We mainly cooked at the cabin which was well stocked with the necessities. We enjoyed the fire pit, the hot tub and exploring the Moutian side behind the cabin with my kids ages 10,7 and 4. Lots of games and thing to keep the kids busy provided which is such a thoughtful touch! The beds were clean and extra comfy! TV is great! Beautiful decor and surroundings. It was the best place to unwind and reconnect. Thank you Tony for your fast responses and care!

We enjoyed a long, rainy getaway weekend at this cabin. Tony’s a great communicator–quickly answered texts & was very welcoming. The fireplace is super cozy, and we loved star-gazing in the hot tub. The many (mostly new) board games were a welcome surprise, and there are tons of yard games for visitors who might have better weather than we did. We made use of the giant TV for movies (good wifi!) and appreciated the kitchen, which is surprisingly well equipped for an AirBnB–plus the many useful extras like cozy blankets, fireplace lighter, and small flashlights.

Amazing! So peaceful beautiful scenery. Everything clean and spotless! We would love to stay anytime. Hot tub clean and functions properly. (Usually an issue at some air bnbs) overall above satisfaction!

Very nice, clean place to stay! It’s also well stocked with supplies you need for your stay! Awesome place to enjoy your family! Tony is great to deal with as well. We will be back when we’re in the area again.

The cabin is amazing. Everything was well stocked and it was nice to be able to go to the grocery store and just cook our own meals. Very private and a great place to relax. We had an excellent time.

This location is perfect! Definitely what I needed, such a quiet and peaceful place! I’d love to go back!
