Parking & Access:
Parking in Harpers Ferry is rare — and we’ve got you covered! The home includes one reserved parking space on Potomac Street.
Please note:
-You’ll need to climb 65 steps up to High Street, where the house is located.
-Luggage drop-off is allowed anytime except Saturdays and Sundays between 11 AM – 5 PM.
-The stairs inside the home are steep and narrow — not recommended for guests with mobility issues.

Harpers Ferry is a wonderful base for a blend of adventure, history, and nature. Whether you’re into hiking, kayaking, history, or just relaxing, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in this beautiful, historic area:
1. Harpers Ferry Historic District (distance from house - walkable): Stroll through the Historic District, with its cobblestone streets, old brick buildings, and charming shops. The district is a step back in time, with preserved 19th-century architecture. The Harpers Ferry Train Station is also a noteworthy stop if you love history and old railways. Feeling adventurous? Harpers Ferry has a haunted past, and there are ghost tours available in the evenings. You can explore the darker side of the town's history, visiting old churches, graveyards, and other eerie spots
2. Appalachian Trail (distance from house - walkable): Runs through Harpers Ferry, and the town is often considered the "psychological halfway point" for thru-hikers. If you're into hiking or nature walks, you can take a short hike to see breathtaking views of the Potomac River and the surrounding mountains.
3. Jefferson Rock (distance from house - walkable): Located within the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, Jefferson Rock is a scenic viewpoint named after Thomas Jefferson, who visited the area in 1783 and admired the view. It’s a short hike to the top, where you’ll get a fantastic view of the rivers and surrounding landscape.
4. Tour the Local Wineries & Breweries (distance from house - 10 mins): Home to a number of local wineries and breweries. Stop by Breaux Vineyards or The Harpers Ferry Brewing Company for a relaxing afternoon of wine tasting or craft beer sampling.
5. Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park Towpath: (distance from house -walkable): for scenic and gentle biking/walking paths.
6. Catoctin Mountain Park (distance from house - 45 mins): A bit farther out, Catoctin Mountain Park offers great hiking opportunities with views of the surrounding landscape. It's a more rugged park with excellent trails for varying skill levels, including the Catoctin Mountain Trail and Blue Ridge Trail.
7. Unique Shops & Dining (distance from house - walkable): Browse specialty shops like True Treats candy, The Vintage Lady, and enjoy standout eateries like Kelley Farm Kitchen and The Rabbit Hole. Don’t forget to stop by Bolivar Bread Bakery!
8. Hiking & River Activities (5 mins to park trailheads): Choose from Maryland Heights, Loudon Heights, Lower Town Loop; or book rafting, tubing, paddleboarding at River Riders.
