NOTE: You’re renting a cabin that is a mile from a local ranch that hosts the occasional cowboy style shooting tournament. Typically held March, April, and September - but they often practice on Saturday/Sunday during the third weekend of the month. You may hear gunshots from their place during the day. West Virginia is indeed wild and wonderful!

1. Cacapon Resort State Park (distance from house - 15-20 minutes): Enjoy Hiking, Fishing, Golf and Swimming. Several trails, including the Cacapon Mountain Trail, offer great views and varying levels of difficulty. The park is also home to an 18-hole golf course and a swimming pool to enjoy during winter months.
2. The Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad (distance from house - 30 minutes): Take a scenic train ride through the Potomac Valley, known for its breathtaking views of the river, mountains, and wildlife (including bald eagles). It's a fun and relaxing way to explore the area.
3. Berkeley Springs State Park (distance from house - 30 minutes): Famous for its natural hot springs, and you can enjoy them at the state park's bathhouse. The town has historic buildings, such as George Washington's Bathhouse, and a charming main street for browsing art galleries, shops, and restaurants.
4. Morgan's Grove Park (distance from house - 30 minutes): Picnicking and Outdoor Recreation: A lovely park with picnic tables, sports fields, and trails for walking.
