Please Note:
Aurora is part of a larger private retreat (Cooper Mountain) with two other domes nearby—one about 60 feet away and the other over 120 feet away. While you may catch a glimpse of other guests, Aurora still feels secluded with its own private hot tub, deck, and fire pit. If you’re interested in booking all three domes for a group stay, let us know!
Tucked into the mountains, Aurora offers a peaceful, one-of-a-kind escape surrounded by nature. Unlike traditional homes, domes aren’t completely sealed, so you may occasionally see a bug or two inside—especially in spring and summer when crickets and other small insects are more active. We do regular treatments and thorough cleanings, but nature sometimes finds its way in. If you’re looking for pristine, hotel-style perfection, this may not be the right fit—but if you love the outdoors and a touch of adventure, you’ll feel right at home.
Our team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, though you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or other natural elements, depending on the season. It’s all part of the mountain setting.
The property is reached by gravel, uneven, and winding roads. Most vehicles can access the dome without issue, but we recommend taking it slow, especially after rain or in winter. For added comfort, a 4WD/AWD vehicle with good clearance is ideal.
Wi-Fi is available, but due to the remote location, service may occasionally be slower or spotty. We suggest downloading any essential content in advance.
Thank you for understanding, and we hope you embrace the adventure—this peaceful, scenic setting is exactly what makes Aurora such a special mountain escape!
Between exploring the unique features of our dome and enjoying the wooded, mountainside vista, Aurora is the perfect vacation spot. The property is adjacent to a 37-acre private nature preserve, with plenty of hiking trails and areas to explore.
In addition, you’re about 20 minutes away from nearly countless wilderness attractions, including whitewater rafting at Pleasantdale’s Tearcoat Creek, lake swimming at Buffalo Gap Retreat in Capon Bridge, and hunting and fishing within the 400-acre forest of the Edwards Run Wildlife Management Area.
