Need to hire a new cleaning person. Looked like someone just swept the dirt under the couch in living room, there was candy, leaves, fake fingernails swept under the couch. Found dirty socks beside the bed, didn’t provide enough toilet paper, porch and decks were a mess, and no broom to sweep up, and trash from previous peoples under the cabin, not placed in proper bins.

The cabin was clean , and organized, my kids enjoyed the kayaks and the other game inside the cabin, one thing there’s no phone service there, it’s 10min drive to get the service but they have wifi, it’s a very peaceful and quiet area.

Tony’s cabin at Forest River was ideal for a low maintenance quiet getaway. The kitchen and living room was adequate for cooking and relaxing. The cabin was clean and had minor upgrades. Bring your swim gear, flip flops, and beach towels for the hot tub, it was relaxing. We suggest packing some layers of clothing to accommodate the brisk mountain weather and a pair of sturdy shoes. You will certainly get your heart rate up if you choose to hike to the top of the neighborhood. The propane heat was not working at the time of our stay, so we used the provided space heater which was helpful in the main room, but not worth the cost for the cabin as it was without heat. As mentioned by others, you should have an AWD vehicle to navigate the terrain. Overall, we were able to relax and spend some much needed time away from the hustle of life.

Beautiful cabin, Tony was responsive and attentive-
The tenants before us left a lot of dog hair, and some things to be desired, but we cleaned it up for our boys and still had a really good time! Lovely location and great space.

We had a great, relaxing weekend away! The hot tub under the stars was perfect! Bed was very comfy! I would recommend bringing your own pot & pan if you are planning cooking. There were plenty of dishes but the cooking pots and pans are very scratched Teflon. We made it work. Highly recommend staying if you’re looking for some R&R!

We were looking for an affordable, yet close to home cabin. It’s tucked away nicely but not too far from plenty to do. It has a nice deck and hot tub. It is quite a steep grade on the final stretch to the cabin, but I made it up fine in a low clearance car. The host was very clear about how the driveway was and how it’s not ideal in inclement weather. It was a great, quiet, affordable home away from home.

It is advisable to have a 4×4 to get to the house as the entrance terrain is very steep. The cabin is fantastic, literally in the middle of nature with a starry sky at night. If you want to light the bonfire, bring your own firewood as there is none available in the house. The jacuzzi is left on so you can use it at any time but the water was a bit dirty when we arrived. The cabin has many board games and a TV with movie services. If you go in winter, I again recommend having a powerful car as the terrain can be slippery if there is ice. Even though the heating was on, it was very cold in the house. Tony is a great host attentive and responding to messages as soon as possible even before booking or inquiring about other things he has, I recommend him.

is difficult to get at the cabin the enter area is very confused there is not wifi no phone signal either the place inside was clean but I think it was not worthy in fact our plan were to stay for 3 night but actually no to have internet was so hard so we let and espened on 2 night ovethere

The cabin was small but cute, I enjoyed the seclusion but will say, a 4wd vehicle is a need for this. The drive way was very steep and bumpy. The cabin was very clean and spacious for its size. The shower was a bit tricky to figure out but was very warm. The hot tub was a nice touch, but it wasn’t really filled so I didn’t use it in case it broke. All in all it’s a nice stay, the price was great for what it was. I recommend it for a couples getaway. We were able to complete two puzzles considering no WiFi and spotty service.

Had an amazing time disconnecting for the weekend. The cabin was perfect and the hot tub perfect for relaxing after hiking Paw Paws tunnel and spending the day exploring Berkeley Springs. Will definitely stay again

We had a wonderful, peaceful weekend at this cabin. It is really private, with tons of beautiful trees surrounding. Really nice for sitting in the hot tub, too–all you see is trees!
The cabin itself is pretty comfortable too. Plenty of seating in the living room, space to cook in the kitchen, and you can still hang out with everyone else in the common area. The beds were super comfy–we slept so well! The porch is a nice place to relax–we sat out and drank our coffee every morning.
That said, there were a few things we wished had been different. The fire pit is behind the cabin, and it was just hard enough to get to that we never ended up using it. The “wood stove” inside is gas, but there was no lighter to light the pilot, so we couldn’t use it. The kitchen didn’t have a big enough pot to make food for 5 people, so we had to buy one (they offered to reimburse, much appreciated). Some windows didn’t have screens, so we ended up with lots of fruit flies.
Overall a really lovely spot!

My husband and ai were soo excited to come to the cabin since this would’ve been our first getaway away from our phones and the pictures looked soo beautiful. However, when we got there, we were super disappointed. The place was very dirty and dusty. We didn’t get to enjoy the deck or the sunroom area nor the hot tub. There was dust under the bed and by the night stand and someone’s water bottle under the bed. The place smelled like wet dog/urine. There was stains on the couch. I was very disappointed since I spend a lot of money and paid a cleaning fee. We read the book of reviews from previous guest who have mentioned the same thing. The landline didn’t even work when we needed to make a call which was terrible since we had no service. Etc.
On the plus side, the movie collection was the best part.

The property was great and well stocked with everything you need. I did not have a problem finding spots in the house where I had cell service. Only advice would be to have a car that sits up a bit off the ground and 4WD for the gravel, uphill portion of the trip. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would happily stay again.

Was not worth the money. A very tiny cabin, that needs a good deep clean. Went to use what little dishes the kitchen had and they had been put back dirty. Couldn’t get in the hot tub because there were so many chemicals that there was about 3 foot of suds once turned on. The outside was cluttered and all of the games were outside of the boxes and scattered through the whole porch. Locks were broken on the door, the umbrella outside was broken and the grill was so disgusting I would never dream of cooking on it. And the dreadful fan and clock on the wall made so much noise it was hard to enjoy the peace and quiet. Was 100% not worth the money. The pictures give an inaccurate impression of this property. I reached out to the home owner because we did not have a tv remote to watch movies and he told me he would find out and never reached back out. A total disappointment

Amenities are really nice and kayaks were super exciting to use in Cacapon River!
Faced issue of electricity outage for 7-8 hours from 2AM to 9AM on the day of checkout which got us stuck with not able to use the hot bath/stove and water supply was also out for the time…Maybe because of heavy rainfall the night before
Owner is really responsive and supportive.

I’m a social media influencer and social media manager for local businesses. I’ve had a busy few weeks and needed to reset for a bit. This was a last minute trip, we arrived very late and check out is at 10am. But we definitely enjoyed our few hours at the cabin. The hot tub is amazing. 🤩 Communication from the host was remarkable! There is no cell service or wifi as stated in the listing and that was exactly what I needed for a few hours. Thank you for opening your home to my family and my dog. The location is beautiful – lots of trees and so many stars at night (so amazing to watch from the hot tub)! The pictures are generous (its a cabin) and the water access is not nearby (requires a car/truck to get the boats there).

Pros: cute, cozy and comfy! We loved the hot tub and being able to disconnect from the outside world. Tony had the place stocked with lots of games. Tony was also very proactive about giving a heads up about check in and checkout procedures.
Con: the only problem we had is that it’s not as close to the river as we expected it to be per the listing and it did not have private access. Be prepared to drive to public access (about 10 minutes) and that was closed down due to the time of year. We did not know that before hand.
Overall we did really enjoy our stay and was worth the price.

Great location to kick back and enjoy the simple side of life! A true cabin in the woods with everything you need to disconnect and forget about the everyday life. Bathroom has a unique smell but that’s to be expected when it’s as remote as it is out there. Stop by Doris’s deli before you leave to grab some sweet merch!

Beautiful home, definitely the quiet get away we were going for. The hot tub was ready to go and nice for us. The town nearby had some places to see and some stores to walk through, a few restaurants as well. Our only complaint would be the lack of water pressure in the shower but besides that everything was good! The home was clean and it felt very welcoming. Would recommend for anyone looking!

Great place to stay for summer vacation but no so much for winter. Cozy but rooms are very cold. During winter you will have cold air drift thru the windows. And no WiFi if you expect it as well

Peaceful cabin getaway. Very cozy with comfy beds. Nice full size kitchen, but a bit sparse beyond plates and utensils. I’d bring your own pans, tools, and all the spices and oils (and wine glasses!) if you plan on doing much cooking. Hot tub was great, appreciated the twinkle lights. Recommend bringing a few dvd’s of your own for movie night. It is about a 20-25 min drive to public water and trails. Road is steep but I just gunned it in my Kia Soul and made it just fine. Tony was great to communicate with, I will definitely stay again.

Very remote, the road up would be treacherous in bad weather. The cabin surroundings were beautiful and the hot tub was great. However, the cabins bathroom did smell a little like sewage and we couldn’t figure out how to get the fireplace going. There is no service or WiFi, to get service it’s a 20 min drive down the mountain. The cabin also lost power our second night and we had to go home. Luckily AirBNB gave us a refund.

There was nothing pleasant about the cabin. Trying to get in with no outside light was fun. #NOT!
Everything was dingy, broken, lights burned out, stinky. The main heater/gas burner in the living room didn’t work. There was a sign on the wall to use the thermostat to manage temperature but that was broken. Didn’t find the electric baseboard heater behind the bed under the curtain until next morning. Fire hazard?? So we layered clothes and blankets to sleep.
There is no cell or internet service so the TV was useless. The hot tub was cold. There was an empty air freshener plugged in probably to help with the musty, moldy smell. They left us 2 thin, small, white towels for the WEEKEND! The coffee was dated to expire a few days after we left. Furnishing were dingy, old, and uncomfortable. Dishes were dirty – well dusty. Prior to coming we asked Tony for something, said he’d get back to us but didn’t. Your money would get you something nicer elsewhere

Not as expected – treacherous road, far from river and the cabin was not what you would expect at the price point. There was a cleanliness issue and a back sliding glass door was kept ajar to run a hose from an air conditioner unit, posing a security risk.

our family had a great stay, we loved the cabin and it was very comfy plus the hottub was amazing!!! the only two things are that the hill to the cabin is VERY VERY STEEP! so be perpared with a good car that have 4 wheel drive, also there is public access, not private. when we got to the cabin they left a package saying that we were not allowed to have ATV, and we took ours to find out we could not even ride ir on the property, But… on a postive note the cabin was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay! would stay again!!

Lovely stay “off the grid”. Hot tub is enjoyable. Definitely need at least small SUV or AWD vehicle to get up steep hills. Have to drive for water access, but it’s worth it! 25 minute drive into town, winding up and down a mountain. Peaceful. We had a good time!

The hosts were super friendly and everything but there was no cell service you absolutely have to have four wheel drive to get up there and the road has huge bumps and pot holes going up the 30 or so degree or more mountain there was a few things needing maintenance there wasn’t much amenity wise compared to most b&b’s we’ve been like my wife getting locked in the bathroom we had to remove the door knob to get her out .

We had a wonderful weekend getaway here. It’s quiet and private, but also not too far away from places for food, drinks, or hiking. Tony was very helpful and made sure our check in was smooth and that our stay was comfortable.

The cabin was very clean and comfortable. We especially found the sheets and blankets to be really soft and comfortable. The only complaint was that the shower had very low pressure and was barely a trickle. However, it was not a big deal for a rustic weekend. The kitchen was well equipped and everything worked well. Our twins had a great time and keep saying they want to go back to the “barn”… which I guess is toddler for “red house in the woods”!

Was a great time to get away and relax. Was hoping to see a bear, but no luck 😂. Definitely recommend a truck to get to the place and glad I took mine. Area was quiet and walking down the hill to the river/bridge was a nice little hike. Hoping to go back in the summer to do some fishing and kayaking. Tony was easy to get ahold of, and very responsive. Enjoyed no cell service and wifi so I could relax and enjoy nature.

I was very disappointed since I spend a lot of money and paid a cleaning fee. We read the book of reviews from previous guest who have mentioned the same thing. The landline didn’t even work when we needed to make a call which was terrible since we had no service. Etc.
On the plus side, the movie collection was the best part.

The property was great and well stocked with everything you need. I did not have a problem finding spots in the house where I had cell service. Only advice would be to have a car that sits up a bit off the ground and 4WD for the gravel, uphill portion of the trip. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would happily stay again.

Was not worth the money. A very tiny cabin, that needs a good deep clean. Went to use what little dishes the kitchen had and they had been put back dirty. Couldn’t get in the hot tub because there were so many chemicals that there was about 3 foot of suds once turned on. The outside was cluttered and all of the games were outside of the boxes and scattered through the whole porch. Locks were broken on the door, the umbrella outside was broken and the grill was so disgusting I would never dream of cooking on it. And the dreadful fan and clock on the wall made so much noise it was hard to enjoy the peace and quiet. Was 100% not worth the money. The pictures give an inaccurate impression of this property. I reached out to the home owner because we did not have a tv remote to watch movies and he told me he would find out and never reached back out. A total disappointment

The place is indeed as it is in the listing- Cosy and rosy!
Amenities are really nice and kayaks were super exciting to use in Cacapon River!
Faced issue of electricity outage for 7-8 hours from 2AM to 9AM on the day of checkout which got us stuck with not able to use the hot bath/stove and water supply was also out for the time...Maybe because of heavy rainfall the night before
Owner is really responsive and supportive.

I’m a social media influencer and social media manager for local businesses. I’ve had a busy few weeks and needed to reset for a bit. This was a last minute trip, we arrived very late and check out is at 10am. But we definitely enjoyed our few hours at the cabin. The hot tub is amazing. 🤩 Communication from the host was remarkable! There is no cell service or wifi as stated in the listing and that was exactly what I needed for a few hours. Thank you for opening your home to my family and my dog. The location is beautiful - lots of trees and so many stars at night (so amazing to watch from the hot tub)! The pictures are generous (its a cabin) and the water access is not nearby (requires a car/truck to get the boats there).

Pros: cute, cozy and comfy! We loved the hot tub and being able to disconnect from the outside world. Tony had the place stocked with lots of games. Tony was also very proactive about giving a heads up about check in and checkout procedures.
Con: the only problem we had is that it’s not as close to the river as we expected it to be per the listing and it did not have private access. Be prepared to drive to public access (about 10 minutes) and that was closed down due to the time of year. We did not know that before hand.
Overall we did really enjoy our stay and was worth the price.

Great location to kick back and enjoy the simple side of life! A true cabin in the woods with everything you need to disconnect and forget about the everyday life. Bathroom has a unique smell but that’s to be expected when it’s as remote as it is out there. Stop by Doris’s deli before you leave to grab some sweet merch!

Great instructions on the space and how to get into and out of the area! Everything was easy to find and had no hiccups. Only wish we had seen on the listing about no wifi to be better prepared with informing family back home taking care of animals about limited contact.

Beautiful home, definitely the quiet get away we were going for. The hot tub was ready to go and nice for us. The town nearby had some places to see and some stores to walk through, a few restaurants as well. Our only complaint would be the lack of water pressure in the shower but besides that everything was good! The home was clean and it felt very welcoming. Would recommend for anyone looking!

Great place to stay for summer vacation but no so much for winter. Cozy but rooms are very cold. During winter you will have cold air drift thru the windows. And no WiFi if you expect it as well

Peaceful cabin getaway. Very cozy with comfy beds. Nice full size kitchen, but a bit sparse beyond plates and utensils. I’d bring your own pans, tools, and all the spices and oils (and wine glasses!) if you plan on doing much cooking. Hot tub was great, appreciated the twinkle lights. Recommend bringing a few dvd’s of your own for movie night. It is about a 20-25 min drive to public water and trails. Road is steep but I just gunned it in my Kia Soul and made it just fine. Tony was great to communicate with, I will definitely stay again.

Very remote, the road up would be treacherous in bad weather. The cabin surroundings were beautiful and the hot tub was great. However, the cabins bathroom did smell a little like sewage and we couldn’t figure out how to get the fireplace going. There is no service or WiFi, to get service it’s a 20 min drive down the mountain. The cabin also lost power our second night and we had to go home. Luckily AirBNB gave us a refund.

There was nothing pleasant about the cabin. Trying to get in with no outside light was fun. #NOT!
Everything was dingy, broken, lights burned out, stinky. The main heater/gas burner in the living room didn't work. There was a sign on the wall to use the thermostat to manage temperature but that was broken. Didn't find the electric baseboard heater behind the bed under the curtain until next morning. Fire hazard?? So we layered clothes and blankets to sleep.
There is no cell or internet service so the TV was useless. The hot tub was cold. There was an empty air freshener plugged in probably to help with the musty, moldy smell. They left us 2 thin, small, white towels for the WEEKEND! The coffee was dated to expire a few days after we left. Furnishing were dingy, old, and uncomfortable. Dishes were dirty - well dusty. Prior to coming we asked Tony for something, said he'd get back to us but didn't. Your money would get you something nicer elsewhere

Not as expected - treacherous road, far from river and the cabin was not what you would expect at the price point. There was a cleanliness issue and a back sliding glass door was kept ajar to run a hose from an air conditioner unit, posing a security risk.

our family had a great stay, we loved the cabin and it was very comfy plus the hottub was amazing!!! the only two things are that the hill to the cabin is VERY VERY STEEP! so be perpared with a good car that have 4 wheel drive, also there is public access, not private. when we got to the cabin they left a package saying that we were not allowed to have ATV, and we took ours to find out we could not even ride ir on the property, But... on a postive note the cabin was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay! would stay again!!

Lovely stay “off the grid”. Hot tub is enjoyable. Definitely need at least small SUV or AWD vehicle to get up steep hills. Have to drive for water access, but it’s worth it! 25 minute drive into town, winding up and down a mountain. Peaceful. We had a good time!

Definitely worth the stay. Was easy to explore the local area. Could use a little better water pressure for the shower, but otherwise can’t complain. Definitely make sure you have 4WD.

The hosts were super friendly and everything but there was no cell service you absolutely have to have four wheel drive to get up there and the road has huge bumps and pot holes going up the 30 or so degree or more mountain there was a few things needing maintenance there wasn’t much amenity wise compared to most b&b’s we’ve been like my wife getting locked in the bathroom we had to remove the door knob to get her out .

We had a wonderful weekend getaway here. It’s quiet and private, but also not too far away from places for food, drinks, or hiking. Tony was very helpful and made sure our check in was smooth and that our stay was comfortable.

The cabin was very clean and comfortable. We especially found the sheets and blankets to be really soft and comfortable. The only complaint was that the shower had very low pressure and was barely a trickle. However, it was not a big deal for a rustic weekend. The kitchen was well equipped and everything worked well. Our twins had a great time and keep saying they want to go back to the "barn"... which I guess is toddler for "red house in the woods"!

Was a great time to get away and relax. Was hoping to see a bear, but no luck 😂. Definitely recommend a truck to get to the place and glad I took mine. Area was quiet and walking down the hill to the river/bridge was a nice little hike. Hoping to go back in the summer to do some fishing and kayaking. Tony was easy to get ahold of, and very responsive. Enjoyed no cell service and wifi so I could relax and enjoy nature.

Peaceful little cabin in the woods! Able to watch sunsets from the balcony and stargaze @night. Hot tub was very relaxing. Close to Berkeley springs for shopping and Cacapon state park for hiking.

Amazing location for a secluded getaway with a cute small town not too far away. Hot tub and scenery were both incredible! More than enjoyed our time away from the grind.
