The open floor plan, centered around a natural stone woodstove, creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, while large windows flood the space with natural light. Step out onto the spacious deck, complete with ample seating for relaxing, dining, or simply taking in the serene mountain views. A charcoal grill and fire pit make it easy to enjoy evenings under the stars. Guests are also welcome to explore two small streams right on the property.
While the owners spend weekends at the main cabin, this suite is completely private, ensuring you have your own retreat to unwind. If you happen to see them, feel free to say hello!

Wardensville, WV (distance from house - 15 mins): a quaint mountain town full of charm and scenic beauty. Surrounded by rolling hills, rivers, and forests, it’s perfect for hiking, fishing, and exploring the outdoors. Enjoy local shops, artisan markets, cozy eateries, and seasonal events, all while soaking in the peaceful small-town atmosphere.
Kimsey Run Lake (distance from house - 20 mins): a great spot for fishing and you’ll often see eagles floating overhead.
Lost River State Park (distance from house - 35 mins): almost 4000 acres feature a public swimming pool, horseback trail riding, miles of hiking trails, and a “ripped from the 1980s” ⅓ mile exercise trail that is especially a hit with the kids. Lost River is known for its Cranny Crow overlook on top of Big Ridge Mountain, which offers a commanding view of five counties.
Trout Pond (distance from house - 35 mins): boasts two beautiful lakes: Rock Cliff Lake and Trout Pond. Relax on a sandy mountain beach or fish for stocked trout while kids splash in the cool waters of Rock Cliff Lake. Trout Pond, home to native Brook trout, is the only natural lake in West Virginia.
Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad (distance from house - 40 mins): as you wind along the South Branch of the Potomac River, you’ll enter a visually striking gorge known as the Trough. One of the most scenic spots along the South Branch, the Trough is home to American bald eagles. All excursions are round-trip and include narration.
