As Described. It is a Cabin in the woods with beautiful surroundings. Extremely quiet and a great place if you want to get away and just listen to nature in a tranquil surrounding. Communications where within Minutes for any questions. The road to the cabin Are easily passible with any vehicle, the road is flat and smooth. The Amenities listed were all very usable and functioned properly. It was only me and my wife during our visit so the grill worked just well, but if we did have a full party of 10 it would take a few sessions to cook for everyone. The pool table functioned, but its a cabin in the woods, so It is a source of entertainment, but expect wondering balls and tracks in the green and the cues could be replaced. Overall it was a very nice, cozy, wonderful getaway for myself and my wife. Tony with his fast, polite communications made us feel connected and important with any inquiries we had which to me is 100% when staying in a new place. We would definitely rent again.

We went for Memorial Day weekend the place was beautiful! We were able to go into the hot-tub anytime and used the fire-pit after the rain was over! The owner was great at responding if there were any questions or even concerns. I would 100% got back here again.

Our travels always consist of cabins/camping and this was the perfect getaway! We went horse back riding which was only 8 minutes away, hiking as well. My dogs were exhausted. Best getaway weekend we have had in a long time!

My husband and I had the whole place to ourselves for our anniversary week, and while it is definitely big enough to bring the family (we thought already of coming back with them), it is a cozy yet airy space that feels intimate enough for just two people. The kitchen has all the tools necessary to cook breakfast (or every meal) everyday, and while it is definitely off the beaten trail, it’s not difficult to get there, even in the aftermath of last week’s icy snowstorm. We enjoyed the jacuzzi a couple of times and the pool table. Mostly we were in town during the day, but it was relaxing in the mornings and evenings. Wish we could have taken advantage of all of the amenities like the porch, grill, and firepit, but maybe if we come back with the fam 🙂

A nice and peaceful weekend away. However, the house was a bit smaller and more worn than it appeared in the photos, though it did accommodate our group of eight adults and one toddler. The biggest issue was the kitchen, which was advertised as fully equipped for cooking. Unfortunately, there were not enough forks or drinking glasses for a house meant to sleep ten, and there were no pot holders, which made cooking difficult and unsafe.
We raised these concerns during our stay, and Tony was responsive and quick to reply. We were advised to purchase plastic forks and were told we would be reimbursed, which we appreciated. However, there was no solution provided for the lack of pot holders, and several of us nearly burned ourselves while cooking. Additionally, the bathrooms could have been cleaner upon arrival.

This was our second time staying at the cabin in Berkeley Springs. It was even better than the last!! Tony is always responsive, friendly and helpful. The cabin was as pictured, clean and nicely decorated. They added more decor and a hot tub since our last visit, that was a big plus!
The area is so peaceful and has beautiful views at the private lake you can use. We came in September so the docks were put up for the season but the fishing was still great! (Esp. If you’re looking for bass, bluegill and sun fish) . The little beach there is perfect for kids. It was a tad over grown with weeds popping thru the sand but that made for a fun activity with our toddler plucking them out!!
Eventually we ventured out to the local restaurants and state parks. Cacapon State Park is a must see! It’s huge and has something for every age. If you’re into History check out Americas first spa at Berkeley Springs State Park. We can’t wait to come back again soon!

We enjoyed spending a few days away from the hustle and bustle. The house was very private with quiet surroundings. The only issues were the sofa was really stained and the master shower was leaking water all over the floor. The owners did respond quickly about the shower issue but due to our length of stay no one was able to come fix the issue. I would recommend the property and would return.

We stayed here with a few friends and had an amazing time! The house was spotless, comfortable, and in a fantastic location. Just a short walk away, there’s a small lake perfect for fishing and relaxing by the water. Downtown was a pleasant surprise — charming shops, lively bars, and a great local vibe. We especially loved having a brewery nearby! Overall, it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Huge thanks to Tony and the Blue Maple team for being so responsive and helpful. We’re already looking forward to our next stay!

For my first time staying at an AirBNB Tony’s cabin really exceeded my expectations. Very Spacious, everything works, all services listed were really there. Me and my friends really enjoyed the pool table and hot tub. We grilled on the beautiful patio. Overall just great experience wish I stayed longer.

My stay at Tony’s place was great overall. We experienced a couple issues during the stay, and Tony and his team were prompt in solving the issues and fair in solutions. The house was nice. Everything worked. We had a nice fire at the fire pit and the hot tub was nice as well. All in all I would stay again. 9/10!

Great location! Place was very cozy and surrounded by nature. Very easy to find. There were a couple things that stood out however.
There were some items, such as the outside light on the porch that was not working and it made it difficult for us to grill. The fridge also seemed to be a little faulty, our food was never really cold. The freezer portion was fine. Pool table is very outdated, be careful of splinters when reaching for the balls.
Jacuzzi worked great! Gas grill was also nice. Kitchen was nicely stocked with plates and pots. The ambiance of the place was also great.

Well kept rustic cabin right in the heart of Berkeley Springs. The fire pit and hot tub were big hits with my kids! We loved making smores and fishing in the small lake at the bottom of the hill. Can’t beat the location right next to the State park. Highly recommend! So peaceful at night in the woods with the crickets.

Overall, we had a great stay. We had trouble with the code provided for the lock box but we evevtually got the correct code after a couple of phone calls. Good location which felt sonewhat remote but was close enough to parks, groceries and restaurants.

Nice location for our weekend away. Tony’s very helpful, communicative and responsive. Instructions for everything were clear. I would have preferred better cleaning as there was a lot of party confetti around the house and deck. Hot tub was clean and chlorinated. We didn’t get to use the grill because it was very dirty and didn’t light up properly. We didn’t use the fire pit because of heavy winds during our stay. The lake is very small, more of a large pond, but it is very peaceful and beautiful.

Positive:
Instructions were very clear. The area is quiet. There were beds and bathrooms on each of the floors. The towels and bedsheets were cleaned and there was soap and shampoo in each bathroom. Very convenient grill area on the deck.
Negative:
Check in at 4pm and checkout at 10am. The lake is small and stagnant. Master bedroom can get noisy because it's on the second floor next to the living room and the plumbing running from the above floor is located in its closet.

Positive:
The cabin is spacious and had nice amenities: games, pool table, hot tub, lake access. The deck on the front made it easy to enjoy the outdoors. There were plenty of clean towels available. The beds were comfortable. The house manual sent by the owner gave great information to make the entire trip easier and more comfortable.
Negative:
There wasn’t a frying pan available for cooking eggs. The bedrooms spread throughout three levels so our little ones were separated from each other and us. The living room has an awkward arrangement that makes enjoying the television difficult.

Overall, the cabin was great. Just the house itself looks smaller than pictures. But the place doesn’t feel small for 6 people of us. Tony is an excellent host by providing us with really clear instructions, introduced us with a lot of amenities around, as well as check-in and checkout instruction. The play was very very clean! We stayed here one- night for Thanksgiving. Overall the experience was homey and good!

Tony and his cabin are absolute gems in the mountain! My group and I visited in the fall where the foliage was absolutely spectacular, the wildlife was abundant, and the stars were gorgeous!
Tony has top-notch communication and was always trying to accommodate us.
Regarding the cabin, there are three levels with a significant amount of space. The large deck was fantastic to grill and chill on!
Berkeley Springs is a gorgeous area replete with parks, trails, and down-home cooking! I am planning to return soon!
Overall, Tony was a 10/10 I would totally recommend!

Fantastic spot for a weekend getaway. My group consisted of 5 adults and we slept comfortably and had plenty of space to do our own things when we wanted. Tony was an excellent host – we received updates before and after check-in. I felt that if there was an issue – Tony would definitely be able to assist right away. My group enjoyed the local state park as well as downtown Berkley Springs – both were less than 20 mins from the cabin. Definitely try to hit up Charlotte’s for breakfast if you can – we enjoyed the hospitality and good eats as well as fresh baked goods.
Tony provided excellent directions for us to easily navigate to the cabin. Do know that the cabin is located up a steep driveway and the fire pit is also at the lower level of the cabin also down a steep path (easy walk for most but might be difficult for older folks) from the main level.

My husband, our 1 year old and I ventured to WV for a relaxing weekend away! We enjoyed having a few places to eat close by, the privacy of the lake, the ability to have a fire at night and Capacon State Park less than 5 minutes away. The house pictures defiitely show what to expect and we were pleased with the size of the house; it is through and through a vacation rental. As others have mentioned the furniture/decor could use some updating. Our only issue was the cleanliness. Several important items had not been taken care of prior to our arrival and as others have indicated, it could use a deep clean (this is not just because it’s a house in the mountains). I did communicate that to Tony and he apologized. We would probably stay here again but with the understanding that if everything was not fully cleaned, we’d be requesting our cleaning fee back.

The location is absolutely stunning. It feels like you’re up in the trees from the deck. There’s massive windows that allow you access to that beautiful view even from inside. Boyfriend and I could only come up with one word to describe it-“idyllic”. Seriously.
There were a few hiccups and a couple things that were out of order (hence the 4 stars instead of 5)-but Tony is a fantastic host and I have faith they won’t be out of commission for too long.
You cannot ask for a better host than Tony. Extremely communicative and helpful.
Overall we had a fantastic time and would love to come back. The town is great. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Plenty of views to see and cute places to grab a bite to eat. I’ve heard it gets pretty hoppin’ on the weekends, but we missed that. (FYI-most of the town is closed on Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s.)

Tony’s cabin was the perfect get away! My bf and I were looking for a cozy place specifically on a lake because we love fishing. This place turned out to be a hidden gem! We caught loads of fish off the small beaches dock. The steep path leading down to the lake is filled with gorgeous green and purple trees and a wooden bridge, but we preferred the short drive because its very rocky to walk with fishing gear and an excited dog. With google maps (and the help of our great hosts) finding your way around the lake and area is super easy! There is a food lion, sheetz, mcdonalds, dollar general all within 10 min. A big plus was how nice the locals were.
The cabin was very nice, but the photos are dated. There’s been updated backsplash in the kitchen, less decor/wall hangings in general, a smaller living room sleeper-couch (which is broken), the wooden sofa-bed and coffee table sitting area is no longer in the basement, no seating/furniture in the loft area, and the ground/yard is now dirt and rocks with little grass. These things did not effect our stay, and we absolutely loved the cabin, but there was a noticeable difference than what was pictured. Some minor improvements could be: pool table re-felted/supplies replenished, a deep clean/dusting of the cabin, updated furniture (meaning things being broken), more decor, working icemaker.
Our only major issue to note was the freezer was not working during our stay. It was nearly cooler than the fridge, which was also not cooling properly. We had to throw out bulk steaks, salmon, beef and ice-cream because everything thawed and could not be ate. Tony was very responsive, although the issue wasn’t resolved during our stay.
Our favorite part about the cabin was the large glass doors/windows and the huge deck that wrapped around the cabin. It was perfect for our dog to have free range of. There was conveniently already a long tie out cable attached to the bottom deck, and even doggie food/water bowls provided. Aside from the one issue, this airbnb was just what we needed and we will definitely be returning. The scenery is gorgeous, Tony was helpful, and responsive. This is the perfect cabin if your looking for a quick, easy get-away somewhere peaceful with your family/pets.

This house is conveniently located just a few minutes drive from Downtown Berkeley Springs. It’s set in the woods, with a few surrounding neighbors, in a very quiet area. Although the house is not directly in the lake, it is a short walk away. I visited in the early spring and the scenery was beautiful. A particular highlight is Cacapon State Park, which is also just a few minutes drive from the house. The host, Tony, was very thoughtful in reaching out to make sure I arrived and had everything I needed. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would be glad to return again.

Had a great, 2-night stay at Tucker’s Cabin with my family of 5. The property is an easy 1.5-2 hour drive from DC and it was nice to just get away and have a little bonding time. The house is comfortable and had everything we needed, particularly for cooking since we prepared all our own meals. We did not pick it because of it’s location near Berkeley Springs, but we did go to the cat cafe (really just a nice cat adoption center) and did a little horseback riding at a stable about 30 minutes away. Wifi and AC worked well, and rooms were very comfortable. Tony is very communicative and did everything he could to make sure we had a good stay.

My fiancée, our puppy, and I were looking for a scenic weekend getaway, and that’s exactly what we got here! With Cacapon State Park less than 10 minutes away, we went on a beautiful hike, stopped at a great local brewery/restaurant (Berkeley Springs Brewing Company), and then settled down back at the cabin. The communication with Tony was clear and thorough the whole way thru, and the house was clean and spacious; all-around a very pleasant experience!

It was pretty clear that the cleaners were doing the bare minimum, lots of dust, dead bugs, broken crayons around, and in the sofa when I folded it down to sleep on it, kids toys under the couch, etc. The grill was also left in an obviously unclean state. Many of the pool cues were incomplete or damaged. The master bathroom has a pillowcase taped to the window, probably to cover some of the draft, and the shower knobs were not installed correctly as well, it was rather difficult to set the temperature. The sofa bed (as well as many of the upolstered chairs) was very deformed and quite uncomfortable to sleep on (I slept on it both nights). The fire pit was overflowing with ash, with no tools or instructions for how or where to empty it. Also, the directions (across from “Charlie’s Den” #___) were unhelpful, nothing across the street was labelled in this way. Overall, for the price we paid, I expected a higher quality of service and my review reflects my expectations. Location and amenities otherwise met expectations.

This is a beautiful location and with wonderful features such as a huge back deck, private lake/ little beach area, and PET FRIENDLY! We love it when we can have our two dogs tag along without any worries. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was just the two of us and our two dogs this time, but there is space for the entire family to join in next time. Check in was very easy and Tony was a great host! It’s an added bonus that the town is very close and there are lots of hikes to enjoy in the area. Great place to simply relax or make a hiking trip out of! Thinking of returning with friends/ family in the future!

This place is awesome! Great price and beautiful spot. Tony is an amazing host and it really is a beautiful getaway location. Good kitchen to cook in, parking is good, and plenty to do but also a great place to relax if you want to do nothing at all. We had a party of 8, and we all really enjoyed our time here. Definitely will come back next time we want to just have a little getaway, or want to see family and friends again in a great spot.

Absolutely lovely cabin in a gorgeous location. The deck is completely enclosed – so was great for the dogs to hang out on – and for us watching the sunrise and sunset every day. There are tons of hiking and trails around as well. The pool table in the basement was a fun to have. We spent a week here and my only complaints would be: the furniture and beds are not the most comfortable (after a week you definitely started to notice), and overall cleanliness left some room for desire. Totally understand we’re in the woods (as identified in the listing). But, there were some things that felt more like negligence from the cleaning folks vs. woods-induced dust, cobwebs, and critters.

I always get a little frustrated at paying over $100 for cleaning fees when the spaces are not that clean overall. to be fair, it was clean enough and I’m not really a germaphobe, but I hate to see piled up dust and stuff under furniture and what not. the dish drying rack could have been cleaner, I understand the water leaves residue but the cleaning company should hit that up as it’s a common used thing. I just feel that if I’m paying that much for cleaning fees, this kind of stuff should not be missed. i see this with a lot of property rentals so it’s not just this place. but this day in age, cleanliness is super important so it’s unfortunate to see common spots not tended to carefully.

A clean cabin with plenty of space, comfy furniture, and all the neccessary amenities plus some welcomed extras. This cozy spot is located in a peaceful neighborhood surrounded by trees with views of a private lake. Additionally there was plenty of yard space for my pup to roam as well as dog bowls for food and water already there. Overall my stay was relaxing and the hosts took care of everything I needed. Such a charming cabin with a spectacular view. Prepare yourself to see some deer! The area is also perfectly quiet. Coming from the city, it was the perfect respite from the hustle and bustle. The house was also great for my sisters dog, she could let him out of the back deck and not worry about him running off.
There was plenty of seating for large groups. We had a group of 10 and we never felt on top of each other. The only note I would make is that the sleeping arrangement didn’t comfortably sleep 10. We ended up having three in the king bed to make things work.
Outside of the cabin itself, downtown Berkeley springs is absolutely adorable. Highly recommend, Cacapon Mountain Brewing for a good beer. The Roman bathhouse is also a must while you’re in town.
If I find myself hosting another group cabin trip, I’ll definitely be back.

This cabin is in a great location next to Cacapon State Park and short drive to town. The layout of the cabin was perfect for a small family and grandparents with a primary bedroom on the main level and two bedrooms upstairs. The bathrooms are well-stocked with toiletries (soaps/shampoo) and all towels and linens are provided. They even had a pack n play and highchair that we could use for our infant. The kitchen is also well stocked. The deck is large and the firepit is nice, although on slanted ground, so watch to not tip over in your chair! The cabin is rustic, but clean and we only wished the fireplace had worked as it was mostly too cold and windy to have a fire outside.
This is our second time renting one of Tony’s properties. The communication is always top-notch and check-in/check-out process seamless. I plan to look at Tony’s other rentals for a future stay.

What great cabin in the woods! The accommodations were perfect and exactly as described, and the location can’t be beat! A secluded cabin, off a very quiet road, but only a couple miles from Cacapon Resort State Park (phenomenal hiking trails), and a few miles to “downtown” Berkeley Springs. Also, not only was communication with Tony (owner) fantastic, he even texted me on the day of arrival to say I could check in early since the cleaning crew had already finished. And speaking of the cleaning crew, the place was immaculate when I checked in, and I also left them a nice tip. I will definitely be renting this place again!

The house was very spacious, secure and the view was amazing. It has a lot of modern stuff which blends in perfectly with the cabin look. The bathrooms and the kitchen were well stocked with the necessities.
It had a strong Wi Fi despite of being in the mountains of WV. It also had a private lake which would be great in summers. There were restaurants and grocery stores at a 10 min drive. Overall it was a great one day vacation.

The cabin was great and the location was perfect. We played golf in the state park near the cabin and there were lots of hiking trails and outdoor activities to enjoy in the area. It is also close to go explore Berkely Springs which had some interesting offerings as well. All of my family that stayed in the cabin really enjoyed it and have said that they want to stay here again when we all meet up in the future. Tony was easy to communicate with and made the entire process hassle-free. Highly recommend both the cabin and staying with Tony.

this cabin was the perfect little getaway for my family. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would love to come back.
we spent the majority of our time out on the large deck – reading, grilling, playing games, having our morning coffee, etc and just taking the surroundings. you literally feel like you’re in a tree house! (side note: the deck was perfect for our pups! there are no stairs leading down so it was very nice to let them be outside and not worry about them getting loose!)
we also enjoyed the close proximity to the neighborhood lake and appreciated that you can hike down to it or drive around the neighborhood to get to it, depending on your ability. we took our kayaks down one evening and it was truly a peaceful and serene setting. also worth mentioning that my nephew caught several large fish (2.8 and 3 pounders!).
we also loved how close the cabin was to cacapon state park and downtown berkeley springs – both are definitely worth exploring if you have the time.
tony was a wonderful host – very good at communicating and only a text away if we needed him. check in and check out process was super easy and the fact that towels, linens, and paper products were provided was just one more detail that made our getaway easy and relaxing.

Tucker’s Retreat was just the right size and layout for our family to spend a week in the woods, with a great deck and fire pit to enjoy the quiet surroundings. The beds were all very comfortable and the bathrooms were nice with an adequate supply of hot water. The internet and television worked well and there was a good collection of movies and books, though we didn’t have time to watch any of them! The kitchen had enough basic cookware and dishes to prepare and serve a meal; the appliances worked well and there was a nice grill on the deck.
The cabin is located very close to the town of Berkeley Springs which has many cute shops and eateries. We initially went on a Tuesday but found out that many of them are only open later in the week so check ahead before venturing in!
The proximity of the cabin (a five minute drive) to Cacapon State Park allowed us to enjoy its many biking and hiking trails almost daily. There is also a beach there for swimming and sunning, and daily programs for kids at the nature center. We were very impressed with its beauty and resources. Tony’s cabin allowed us to enjoy the park while still having the privacy and seclusion of a private home.

Lovely place. Super efficient host. Lake is across a street and down a hill, it appears to be shared by the entire community. I didn’t understand that from the description. Private threw me off, maybe semi private would be more accurate. We had it to ourselves each time we were down there though, despite it the 80 degree weather on a July weekend.
House itself was lovely. Pool table, deck, fire pit. All great things to let a couple of families chill for a weekend.

This cabin is absolutely perfect to get away and recharge in nature. It’s roomy and accommodated our family of 6 adults perfectly. The upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms have recently been renovated and the large deck was perfect for our family to gather and enjoy meals. We also enjoyed walking to the beach to fish, kayak and swim. The view is breathtaking. The area offers several activities for the adventurers. Restaurants and stores were only roughly a 15 minute drive. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

As Described. It is a Cabin in the woods with beautiful surroundings. Extremely quiet and a great place if you want to get away and just listen to nature in a tranquil surrounding. Communications where within Minutes for any questions. The road to the cabin Are easily passible with any vehicle, the road is flat and smooth. The Amenities listed were all very usable and functioned properly. It was only me and my wife during our visit so the grill worked just well, but if we did have a full party of 10 it would take a few sessions to cook for everyone. The pool table functioned, but its a cabin in the woods, so It is a source of entertainment, but expect wondering balls and tracks in the green and the cues could be replaced. Overall it was a very nice, cozy, wonderful getaway for myself and my wife. Tony with his fast, polite communications made us feel connected and important with any inquiries we had which to me is 100% when staying in a new place. We would definitely rent again.

My husband and I had the whole place to ourselves for our anniversary week, and while it is definitely big enough to bring the family (we thought already of coming back with them), it is a cozy yet airy space that feels intimate enough for just two people. The kitchen has all the tools necessary to cook breakfast (or every meal) everyday, and while it is definitely off the beaten trail, it’s not difficult to get there, even in the aftermath of last week’s icy snowstorm. We enjoyed the jacuzzi a couple of times and the pool table. Mostly we were in town during the day, but it was relaxing in the mornings and evenings. Wish we could have taken advantage of all of the amenities like the porch, grill, and firepit, but maybe if we come back with the fam 🙂

A nice and peaceful weekend away. However, the house was a bit smaller and more worn than it appeared in the photos, though it did accommodate our group of eight adults and one toddler. The biggest issue was the kitchen, which was advertised as fully equipped for cooking. Unfortunately, there were not enough forks or drinking glasses for a house meant to sleep ten, and there were no pot holders, which made cooking difficult and unsafe.
We raised these concerns during our stay, and Tony was responsive and quick to reply. We were advised to purchase plastic forks and were told we would be reimbursed, which we appreciated. However, there was no solution provided for the lack of pot holders, and several of us nearly burned ourselves while cooking. Additionally, the bathrooms could have been cleaner upon arrival.

This was our second time staying at the cabin in Berkeley Springs. It was even better than the last!! Tony is always responsive, friendly and helpful. The cabin was as pictured, clean and nicely decorated. They added more decor and a hot tub since our last visit, that was a big plus!
The area is so peaceful and has beautiful views at the private lake you can use. We came in September so the docks were put up for the season but the fishing was still great! (Esp. If you’re looking for bass, bluegill and sun fish) . The little beach there is perfect for kids. It was a tad over grown with weeds popping thru the sand but that made for a fun activity with our toddler plucking them out!!
Eventually we ventured out to the local restaurants and state parks. Cacapon State Park is a must see! It’s huge and has something for every age. If you’re into History check out Americas first spa at Berkeley Springs State Park. We can’t wait to come back again soon!

We enjoyed spending a few days away from the hustle and bustle. The house was very private with quiet surroundings. The only issues were the sofa was really stained and the master shower was leaking water all over the floor. The owners did respond quickly about the shower issue but due to our length of stay no one was able to come fix the issue. I would recommend the property and would return.

We stayed here with a few friends and had an amazing time! The house was spotless, comfortable, and in a fantastic location. Just a short walk away, there’s a small lake perfect for fishing and relaxing by the water. Downtown was a pleasant surprise — charming shops, lively bars, and a great local vibe. They were very friendly, the location is easy to find if you follow the instructions on how to get there, the place is very quiet, we spent a good weekend playing billiards and cooking outdoors, I would definitely stay here again!

We ended our trip a day earlier than planed. This home needs some maintenance and as mentioned in some other reviews, the photos are deceiving about the condition. In almost every room we found something in need of repair or cleaning. Some of the most notable items: the kitchen range hood was horribly dirty. The walls and trim really need attention, the floor tiles are coming up, dining table chairs need fixed/replaced. We found the hot tub water to be a green and very cloudy. On the grounds, there were areas where we found broken glass and rusty metal, including an area of broken glass as you step off the back deck beside the hot tub - be cautious with kids or dogs. We contacted the management company with photos and they were very responsive. They sent someone out in about 30 minutes to drain and re-fill the hot tub. The location is great for accessing Berkeley Springs and the Great Cacapon park, the property management company is responsive, but the home is in need of TLC.

For my first time staying at an AirBNB Tony’s cabin really exceeded my expectations. Very Spacious, everything works, all services listed were really there. Great location! Place was very cozy and surrounded by nature. Very easy to find. There were a couple things that stood out however.
There were some items, such as the outside light on the porch that was not working and it made it difficult for us to grill. The fridge also seemed to be a little faulty, our food was never really cold. The freezer portion was fine. Pool table is very outdated, be careful of splinters when reaching for the balls.
Jacuzzi worked great! Gas grill was also nice. Kitchen was nicely stocked with plates and pots. The ambiance of the place was also great.

It would be hard to list all the broken or poorly maintained aspects of this home. Most notable were the washed out driveway entrance causing our cars to bottom out no matter how you approach it, the listing stating that it accommodates 10 when there are only 4 random drinking glasses, one wine glass, etc. Then the 1970s kitchen and tables which are broken or about to break, doors that don't work, a pool table with only one unbroken cue stick, the hot tub left partially filled with the cover in the yard, and so on.
As others have written the listing states the door code is in the owner's manual. Like them we were silly enough to not confirm this before arriving in the evening. The manual states that the code will be sent with the welcome message that was never sent. So we endured a period of wondering if we needed a hotel before the service team replied. The also offered a late checkout, then various excuses for why the could not, finally blaming the "system".

Well kept rustic cabin right in the heart of Berkeley Springs. The fire pit and hot tub were big hits with my kids! We loved making smores and fishing in the small lake at the bottom of the hill. Can’t beat the location right next to the State park. Highly recommend! So peaceful at night in the woods with the crickets.

The pictures were misleading compared to the actual property. Additionally, this property was advertised as exclusive with a private lake, which is not accurate. The lake/stream is actually shared by the community and is not directly near the house. The water was dirty and stagnant. Overall, I was extremely disappointed and felt this was mostly false advertising. The jacuzzi could barely fit one person (two at most) and was just a cheap, store-bought product. I suggest the owner update the description to provide a more accurate representation of what to expect. Props to the photographer for making the place look much nicer than it is—I’d hire them! Overall, it was not a great experience, and I won’t be staying here again.

Overall, we had a great stay. We had trouble with the code provided for the lock box but we evevtually got the correct code after a couple of phone calls. Good location which felt sonewhat remote but was close enough to parks, groceries and restaurants.

We truly enjoyed ourselves at the cabin rental! The cabin is beautiful and the lay out was great for our family. The pool table and hot tub was a plus we enjoyed. We spent more time outside then we even thought we would. The beds are comfy and the privacy can't be beat! We also enjoyed the private lake. We will be back!

We were so excited to stay in West Virginia. We seen this place on Airbnb so we booked it. We arrived in the am after a 7 hour drive around 4am. It was pitch black, the lock wasn’t working. We waited 25 minutes and finally got it to work. When we got into the house, we looked around there were cobwebs in the corners of each room. There was only one in the house, which was the living room that didn’t work. I tried connecting to the Wi-Fi because there’s no connection there and it didn’t work. We finally said let’s just go lay down and we’ll figure out where to go tomorrow. We go to lay on the bed, not even a minute, laying on the bed a 2 black mice run out of the closet and run back in. My husband jumped on the bed and was screaming. We both could not believe what we just seen. We ran out of the house so quick. We weren’t even there for 10 minutes and seen two mice. We then had to drive 42 minutes to the nearest hotel. It was honestly a nightmare and ended up ruining our trip.

Nice location for our weekend away. Tony’s very helpful, communicative and responsive. Instructions for everything were clear. I would have preferred better cleaning as there was a lot of party confetti around the house and deck. Hot tub was clean and chlorinated. We didn’t get to use the grill because it was very dirty and didn’t light up properly. We didn’t use the fire pit because of heavy winds during our stay. The lake is very small, more of a large pond, but it is very peaceful and beautiful.

Instructions were very clear. The area is quiet. There were beds and bathrooms on each of the floors. The towels and bedsheets were cleaned and there was soap and shampoo in each bathroom. Very convenient grill area on the deck.

Check in at 4pm and checkout at 10am. The lake is small and stagnant. Master bedroom can get noisy because it's on the second floor next to the living room and the plumbing running from the above floor is located in its closet.

check in was very easy. beautiful view while having morning coffee on the deck, lots of deer. place was very dusty and lots of cob webs. horrible walk down to the lake and that is not beach! one walk down there and back up was very hard on my husband and myself. we really enjoyed watching a movie one night all together as a family but the couch was very uncomfortable and not any comfy place to sit. the kitchen was great, it had everything we needed. we did run out of hot water after only 2 people showered and a few of us had cold showers. we did enjoy the bonfire and we all gathered and had s'mores. all in all it was a great weekend with our kids and grand kids and it will always be a beautiful memory.

The place was ok. I kinda felt “catfished” the pics listed were taken in really great lighting and with a great camera. The home is definitely much older looking than appears on pics. The layout of the beds in the basement were inaccurate, listing says two double beds with a pull out. The couch there did not pull out and the beds are twin sizes. Both of them. The fans in the basement are so loose and noisy had to turn them off. We couldn’t find extra linens not sure if we missed it or what. The kitchen was fully stocked. So that was great. So overall for the length of my stay (1 night) it was ok. I probably wouldn’t book this place again though.

The cabin is spacious and had nice amenities: games, pool table, hot tub, lake access. The deck on the front made it easy to enjoy the outdoors. There were plenty of clean towels available. The beds were comfortable. The house manual sent by the owner gave great information to make the entire trip easier and more comfortable.
Negative:
There wasn’t a frying pan available for cooking eggs. The bedrooms spread throughout three levels so our little ones were separated from each other and us. The living room has an awkward arrangement that makes enjoying the television difficult.

Tony’s place was perfect for our annual reunion. Quiet surroundings, but still easy to get to downtown Berkeley Springs. Tony was super helpful and proactively reached out to make sure we had everything we needed. Place was clean and ready for us on time. Internet was solid the whole time.

We had a few issues, but the host was able to work with us. The propane grill had wood ash in the bottom of it and destroyed the gas lines making it unusable, and the two propane tanks were empty. After talking with the management company, they brought out two full tanks and a new grill for us to use. In this instance they were extremely helpful, but I believe their cleaners are seriously lacking. There was cigarette ash in the bedroom and a completely burned pan of who knows how old chicken left in the oven. One of the bedrooms also had an odd odor in it. The handrail was also entirely detached from the wall at the bottom of the stairs, and the handrail at the top of the stairs was wobbly enough that if you would lean your full weight on it, you would fall through. The hot tub was fantastic and clean, and the location is perfect. The private lake made for great fishing!! I expected more for the price point and am slightly disappointed by what we received.

We recently stayed at Tony’s place, and while there were a couple of minor problems with the house, Tony was very responsive, and we appreciated that very much. Tony’s place was clean, spacious for a family of eight (8), and had some good views. It fell a little short of our expectations based on the advertised price. While I can understand the rates being on the higher end for Memorial Day weekend, I feel compelled to share my thoughts.
It felt as though the common areas of the property haven’t been maintained well and appeared older than the pictures posted. While the kitchen was adequate, we felt it lacked some essential items.
Despite these concerns, I do want to acknowledge Tony for being responsive when we encountered a couple issues during our stay. He promptly addressed problems such as a malfunctioning heater and power outlets that did not work, which we appreciated. Overall, our family had a good time and we enjoyed spending time sitting around the fire pit outside.

Tony and his cabin are absolute gems in the mountain! My group and I visited in the fall where the foliage was absolutely spectacular, the wildlife was abundant, and the stars were gorgeous!
Tony has top-notch communication and was always trying to accommodate us.
Regarding the cabin, there are three levels with a significant amount of space. The large deck was fantastic to grill and chill on!
Berkeley Springs is a gorgeous area replete with parks, trails, and down-home cooking! I am planning to return soon!
Overall, Tony was a 10/10 I would totally recommend!

Fantastic spot for a weekend getaway. My group consisted of 5 adults and we slept comfortably and had plenty of space to do our own things when we wanted. Tony was an excellent host - we received updates before and after check-in. I felt that if there was an issue - Tony would definitely be able to assist right away. My group enjoyed the local state park as well as downtown Berkley Springs - both were less than 20 mins from the cabin. Definitely try to hit up Charlotte's for breakfast if you can - we enjoyed the hospitality and good eats as well as fresh baked goods.
Tony provided excellent directions for us to easily navigate to the cabin. Do know that the cabin is located up a steep driveway and the fire pit is also at the lower level of the cabin also down a steep path (easy walk for most but might be difficult for older folks) from the main level.

My husband, our 1 year old and I ventured to WV for a relaxing weekend away! We enjoyed having a few places to eat close by, the privacy of the lake, the ability to have a fire at night and Capacon State Park less than 5 minutes away. The house pictures defiitely show what to expect and we were pleased with the size of the house; it is through and through a vacation rental. As others have mentioned the furniture/decor could use some updating. Our only issue was the cleanliness. Several important items had not been taken care of prior to our arrival and as others have indicated, it could use a deep clean (this is not just because it's a house in the mountains). I did communicate that to Tony and he apologized. We would probably stay here again but with the understanding that if everything was not fully cleaned, we'd be requesting our cleaning fee back.

The location is absolutely stunning. It feels like you're up in the trees from the deck. There's massive windows that allow you access to that beautiful view even from inside. Boyfriend and I could only come up with one word to describe it-"idyllic". Seriously.
There were a few hiccups and a couple things that were out of order (hence the 4 stars instead of 5)-but Tony is a fantastic host and I have faith they won't be out of commission for too long.
You cannot ask for a better host than Tony. Extremely communicative and helpful.
Overall we had a fantastic time and would love to come back. The town is great. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Plenty of views to see and cute places to grab a bite to eat. I've heard it gets pretty hoppin' on the weekends, but we missed that. (FYI-most of the town is closed on Tuesday's and Wednesday's.)

Tony's cabin was the perfect get away! My bf and I were looking for a cozy place specifically on a lake because we love fishing. This place turned out to be a hidden gem! We caught loads of fish off the small beaches dock. The steep path leading down to the lake is filled with gorgeous green and purple trees and a wooden bridge, but we preferred the short drive because its very rocky to walk with fishing gear and an excited dog. With google maps (and the help of our great hosts) finding your way around the lake and area is super easy! There is a food lion, sheetz, mcdonalds, dollar general all within 10 min. A big plus was how nice the locals were.
The cabin was very nice, but the photos are dated. There's been updated backsplash in the kitchen, less decor/wall hangings in general, a smaller living room sleeper-couch (which is broken), the wooden sofa-bed and coffee table sitting area is no longer in the basement, no seating/furniture in the loft area, and the ground/yard is now dirt and rocks with little grass. These things did not effect our stay, and we absolutely loved the cabin, but there was a noticeable difference than what was pictured. Some minor improvements could be: pool table re-felted/supplies replenished, a deep clean/dusting of the cabin, updated furniture (meaning things being broken), more decor, working icemaker.
Our only major issue to note was the freezer was not working during our stay. It was nearly cooler than the fridge, which was also not cooling properly. We had to throw out bulk steaks, salmon, beef and ice-cream because everything thawed and could not be ate. Tony was very responsive, although the issue wasn't resolved during our stay.
Our favorite part about the cabin was the large glass doors/windows and the huge deck that wrapped around the cabin. It was perfect for our dog to have free range of. There was conveniently already a long tie out cable attached to the bottom deck, and even doggie food/water bowls provided. Aside from the one issue, this airbnb was just what we needed and we will definitely be returning. The scenery is gorgeous, Tony was helpful, and responsive. This is the perfect cabin if your looking for a quick, easy get-away somewhere peaceful with your family/pets.

This house is conveniently located just a few minutes drive from Downtown Berkeley Springs. It’s set in the woods, with a few surrounding neighbors, in a very quiet area. Although the house is not directly in the lake, it is a short walk away. I visited in the early spring and the scenery was beautiful. A particular highlight is Cacapon State Park, which is also just a few minutes drive from the house. The host, Tony, was very thoughtful in reaching out to make sure I arrived and had everything I needed. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would be glad to return again.

Had a great, 2-night stay at Tucker's Cabin with my family of 5. The property is an easy 1.5-2 hour drive from DC and it was nice to just get away and have a little bonding time. The house is comfortable and had everything we needed, particularly for cooking since we prepared all our own meals. We did not pick it because of it's location near Berkeley Springs, but we did go to the cat cafe (really just a nice cat adoption center) and did a little horseback riding at a stable about 30 minutes away. Wifi and AC worked well, and rooms were very comfortable. Tony is very communicative and did everything he could to make sure we had a good stay.

My fiancée, our puppy, and I were looking for a scenic weekend getaway, and that’s exactly what we got here! With Cacapon State Park less than 10 minutes away, we went on a beautiful hike, stopped at a great local brewery/restaurant (Berkeley Springs Brewing Company), and then settled down back at the cabin. The communication with Tony was clear and thorough the whole way thru, and the house was clean and spacious; all-around a very pleasant experience!

It was pretty clear that the cleaners were doing the bare minimum, lots of dust, dead bugs, broken crayons around, and in the sofa when I folded it down to sleep on it, kids toys under the couch, etc. The grill was also left in an obviously unclean state. Many of the pool cues were incomplete or damaged. The master bathroom has a pillowcase taped to the window, probably to cover some of the draft, and the shower knobs were not installed correctly as well, it was rather difficult to set the temperature. The sofa bed (as well as many of the upolstered chairs) was very deformed and quite uncomfortable to sleep on (I slept on it both nights). The fire pit was overflowing with ash, with no tools or instructions for how or where to empty it. Also, the directions (across from "Charlie's Den" #___) were unhelpful, nothing across the street was labelled in this way. Overall, for the price we paid, I expected a higher quality of service and my review reflects my expectations. Location and amenities otherwise met expectations.

This is a beautiful location and with wonderful features such as a huge back deck, private lake/ little beach area, and PET FRIENDLY! We love it when we can have our two dogs tag along without any worries. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was just the two of us and our two dogs this time, but there is space for the entire family to join in next time. Check in was very easy and Tony was a great host! It’s an added bonus that the town is very close and there are lots of hikes to enjoy in the area. Great place to simply relax or make a hiking trip out of! Thinking of returning with friends/ family in the future!

This place is awesome! Great price and beautiful spot. Tony is an amazing host and it really is a beautiful getaway location. Good kitchen to cook in, parking is good, and plenty to do but also a great place to relax if you want to do nothing at all. We had a party of 8, and we all really enjoyed our time here. Definitely will come back next time we want to just have a little getaway, or want to see family and friends again in a great spot.

Tony was a great host and a pleasure to communicate with. I have no complaints there but my honest feedback would be to get a better cleaning service and updated seating in the living room as the couch is broken and not very comfortable to gather in with a group.

Absolutely lovely cabin in a gorgeous location. The deck is completely enclosed - so was great for the dogs to hang out on - and for us watching the sunrise and sunset every day. There are tons of hiking and trails around as well. The pool table in the basement was a fun to have. We spent a week here and my only complaints would be: the furniture and beds are not the most comfortable (after a week you definitely started to notice), and overall cleanliness left some room for desire. Totally understand we’re in the woods (as identified in the listing). But, there were some things that felt more like negligence from the cleaning folks vs. woods-induced dust, cobwebs, and critters.

Tony’s place was really nice and the best part was the view. You can’t see it from the pictures but it was really spectacular! Although we don’t have kids we thought it was really awesome they provided things like a high chair and cups and utensils for kids. Co host was kind and responsive.

Negative:
I always get a little frustrated at paying over $100 for cleaning fees when the spaces are not that clean overall. to be fair, it was clean enough and I’m not really a germaphobe, but I hate to see piled up dust and stuff under furniture and what not. the dish drying rack could have been cleaner, I understand the water leaves residue but the cleaning company should hit that up as it’s a common used thing. I just feel that if I’m paying that much for cleaning fees, this kind of stuff should not be missed. i see this with a lot of property rentals so it’s not just this place. but this day in age, cleanliness is super important so it’s unfortunate to see common spots not tended to carefully.

A clean cabin with plenty of space, comfy furniture, and all the neccessary amenities plus some welcomed extras. This cozy spot is located in a peaceful neighborhood surrounded by trees with views of a private lake. Additionally there was plenty of yard space for my pup to roam as well as dog bowls for food and water already there. Overall my stay was relaxing and the hosts took care of everything I needed. Thanks again for letting us stay!

If you want a relaxing peaceful place in nature this is what you want. The small town vibe is very nice and please make sure you check out lighthouse latte for the best latte I’ve ever had. Will be coming back again for sure.

Such a charming cabin with a spectacular view. Prepare yourself to see some deer! The area is also perfectly quiet. Coming from the city, it was the perfect respite from the hustle and bustle. The house was also great for my sisters dog, she could let him out of the back deck and not worry about him running off.
There was plenty of seating for large groups. We had a group of 10 and we never felt on top of each other. The only note I would make is that the sleeping arrangement didn’t comfortably sleep 10. We ended up having three in the king bed to make things work.
Outside of the cabin itself, downtown Berkeley springs is absolutely adorable. Highly recommend, Cacapon Mountain Brewing for a good beer. The Roman bathhouse is also a must while you’re in town.
If I find myself hosting another group cabin trip, I’ll definitely be back.

This cabin is in a great location next to Cacapon State Park and short drive to town. The layout of the cabin was perfect for a small family and grandparents with a primary bedroom on the main level and two bedrooms upstairs. The bathrooms are well-stocked with toiletries (soaps/shampoo) and all towels and linens are provided. They even had a pack n play and highchair that we could use for our infant. The kitchen is also well stocked. The deck is large and the firepit is nice, although on slanted ground, so watch to not tip over in your chair! The cabin is rustic, but clean and we only wished the fireplace had worked as it was mostly too cold and windy to have a fire outside.
This is our second time renting one of Tony's properties. The communication is always top-notch and check-in/check-out process seamless. I plan to look at Tony's other rentals for a future stay.

The home was a wonderful getaway for us, and was very comfortable. We loved the deck, and appreciated the well stocked kitchen as well as the dual seating areas. The bedrooms were comfortable and. bathrooms and kitchen were very clean. Location is great, right near Cacapon State Park with great walking trails and a nice spa.

We had a wonderful experience in Tony’s cabin. The property is spacious, clean, and full of amenities; nestled in the woods, yet convenient to downtown Berkeley Springs. Tony is very friendly and responsive. We can’t recommend him or his properties highly enough!

What great cabin in the woods! The accommodations were perfect and exactly as described, and the location can't be beat! A secluded cabin, off a very quiet road, but only a couple miles from Cacapon Resort State Park (phenomenal hiking trails), and a few miles to "downtown" Berkeley Springs. Also, not only was communication with Tony (owner) fantastic, he even texted me on the day of arrival to say I could check in early since the cleaning crew had already finished. And speaking of the cleaning crew, the place was immaculate when I checked in, and I also left them a nice tip. I will definitely be renting this place again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Tony’s house! Nestled in the woods with an adorable outside fire pit and short walk to a private lake. It made for the coziest fall getaway. Tony was also excellent at communicating! We’ll def be back!

The house was very spacious, secure and the view was amazing. It has a lot of modern stuff which blends in perfectly with the cabin look. The bathrooms and the kitchen were well stocked with the necessities.
It had a strong Wi Fi despite of being in the mountains of WV. It also had a private lake which would be great in summers. There were restaurants and grocery stores at a 10 min drive. Overall it was a great one day vacation.

The cabin was great and the location was perfect. We played golf in the state park near the cabin and there were lots of hiking trails and outdoor activities to enjoy in the area. It is also close to go explore Berkely Springs which had some interesting offerings as well. All of my family that stayed in the cabin really enjoyed it and have said that they want to stay here again when we all meet up in the future. Tony was easy to communicate with and made the entire process hassle-free. Highly recommend both the cabin and staying with Tony.

This was a wonderful home in a beautiful, peaceful setting in the mountains. Tony was fantastic with info, communications, and recommendations for places to explore and to dine. It was a time for our family to unplug and spend some quality time together. The home was charming as well as clean. Tony is an excellent host. We greatly appreciated his prompt, proactive communications and hospitality. We had a great time at the cabin, fishing in the lake and visiting Cacapon State Park. We cooked dinners, played pool, and built a fire in the firepit to roast marshmallows. It was a very fun and relaxing trip for four adults, two kids, and two dogs. The beds are very comfortable too.

this cabin was the perfect little getaway for my family. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would love to come back.
we spent the majority of our time out on the large deck - reading, grilling, playing games, having our morning coffee, etc and just taking the surroundings. you literally feel like you’re in a tree house! (side note: the deck was perfect for our pups! there are no stairs leading down so it was very nice to let them be outside and not worry about them getting loose!)
we also enjoyed the close proximity to the neighborhood lake and appreciated that you can hike down to it or drive around the neighborhood to get to it, depending on your ability. we took our kayaks down one evening and it was truly a peaceful and serene setting. also worth mentioning that my nephew caught several large fish (2.8 and 3 pounders!).
we also loved how close the cabin was to cacapon state park and downtown berkeley springs - both are definitely worth exploring if you have the time.
tony was a wonderful host - very good at communicating and only a text away if we needed him. check in and check out process was super easy and the fact that towels, linens, and paper products were provided was just one more detail that made our getaway easy and relaxing.

Nice château in the woods. State park was only 5 minutes away which was perfect. The kids loved fishing in the lake across the street from the house but we were disappointed that you could not swim in it. Overall nice stay for the price!

Tucker’s Retreat was just the right size and layout for our family to spend a week in the woods, with a great deck and fire pit to enjoy the quiet surroundings. The beds were all very comfortable and the bathrooms were nice with an adequate supply of hot water. The internet and television worked well and there was a good collection of movies and books, though we didn’t have time to watch any of them! The kitchen had enough basic cookware and dishes to prepare and serve a meal; the appliances worked well and there was a nice grill on the deck.
The cabin is located very close to the town of Berkeley Springs which has many cute shops and eateries. We initially went on a Tuesday but found out that many of them are only open later in the week so check ahead before venturing in!
The proximity of the cabin (a five minute drive) to Cacapon State Park allowed us to enjoy its many biking and hiking trails almost daily. There is also a beach there for swimming and sunning, and daily programs for kids at the nature center. We were very impressed with its beauty and resources. Tony’s cabin allowed us to enjoy the park while still having the privacy and seclusion of a private home.

Lovely place. Super efficient host. Lake is across a street and down a hill, it appears to be shared by the entire community. I didn’t understand that from the description. Private threw me off, maybe semi private would be more accurate. We had it to ourselves each time we were down there though, despite it the 80 degree weather on a July weekend.
House itself was lovely. Pool table, deck, fire pit. All great things to let a couple of families chill for a weekend.

This cabin is absolutely perfect to get away and recharge in nature. It's roomy and accommodated our family of 6 adults perfectly. The upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms have recently been renovated and the large deck was perfect for our family to gather and enjoy meals. We also enjoyed walking to the beach to fish, kayak and swim. The view is breathtaking. The area offers several activities for the adventurers. Restaurants and stores were only roughly a 15 minute drive. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.
