2. Shenandoah County Park (distance from house - 5 mins): Scenic county park with walking trails, picnic areas, playgrounds, and spaces for picnics or outdoor games right in Maurertown. Great for a relaxed day outdoors.
3. North Mountain Vineyard & Winery (distance from house - 5 mins): Lovely local vineyard offering wine tastings and beautiful outdoor seating with views of the valley and mountains.
4. Luray Caverns (distance from house - 30 mins): One of the region’s most famous natural attractions — explore massive underground caverns, interesting rock formations, and on‑site museums.

Notes
- There is a low-lying bridge you have to cross to get to the neighborhood. Snow should not impact crossing, as people live there full time, but the rare heavy flood would present a problem. We try to keep an eye on water levels and give notice if it might become impassable coming or going, but occasionally a flash flood surprises us.
