The Home
The chalet includes:
-2 bedrooms - Bedroom 1 - King Bed (upstairs), Bedroom 2 (main level)- 1 Queen and 1 twin pull-out
- Additional sleeping accommodations in the living room with 1 queen pull-out sofa
- 2 full baths (1 upstairs and 1 on main level)
- Fully-equipped kitchen with stove/oven, microwave, and refrigerator
- Large seating area perfect for a fun game night
- Work area in the upstairs loft bedroom
- Cozy wood fireplace to stay cozy on chilly nights (don’t worry we also have baseboard heating and window AC units)
- WiFi strong enough for streaming movies and taking video calls
Outside, you’ll also find:
- Grill and gather on the large deck
- Roast s’mores in the fire pit
- Relax with a good book on the screened in porch
- Plenty of yard space for outdoor activities
- Grab your clubs, you can walk to the golf course!
- Outdoor sports center with two 25-meter pools, tennis courts, pickleball court, basketball/volleyball courts, softball field, and catch-and-release fishing
- Indoor sports facility with another pool, whirlpool, gym, tennis court and racket ball court
- Multiple hiking trails nearby. Our favorite is Devil’s Nose!
Beyond the cabin itself, we love how close we are to Berkeley Springs, a 30 minute drive from the cabin and is great for so many reasons. The town of Berkeley Springs has been voted one of the top arts communities in the US, with dozens of shops and restaurants, and even a brewery and winery!
Here are some of our favorite points of interest near Hedgesville, WV:
1. The Woods Golf Course (distance from house - a short walk): Renowned for “fun and fair” golf, the 18-hole championship Mountain View course is perfect for low handicappers and the Stony Lick mid-length course for the rest of us!
2. Cacapon Resort State Park (distance from house - 35 minutes): Offers hiking, fishing, and golfing, with beautiful views and various trails.
3. Berkeley Springs State Park (distance from house - 25 minutes): Known for its natural mineral springs and spa services, it's a lovely spot for relaxation.
4. Historic Berkeley Springs (distance from house - 25 minutes): A charming town with shops, art galleries, and historical sites.
5. Spring Valley Farmers Market (distance from house - 15 minutes): Stock up on local produce and baked goods
6. Black Draft Farm & Distillery (distance from house - 20 minutes): Near the farmers market, and the perfect spot for a drink!
7. Rumsey Monument: (distance from house - 45 minutes)A historic monument located in nearby Shepherdstown, commemorating General Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson.
8. Antietam National Battlefield (distance from house - 45 minutes): Just a short drive away, it's a significant Civil War site with walking trails and informative exhibits.
9. Harpers Ferry National Historical Park (distance from house - 50 minutes): Offers stunning views and rich history, with plenty of hiking and sightseeing opportunities.
10. Shenandoah National Park (distance from house - 1 hour and 15 minutes): Bursting with cascading waterfalls, spectacular vistas, fields of wildflowers, and quiet wooded hollows. With over 200,000 acres of protected lands.
