The good: Incredible location, wonderful view, comfy bed, plenty warm heaters and blankets, everything you need, fully appointed cabin, Mgmt very responsive via text. The bad: There were no working lights downstairs, aside from kitchen. Not just dim. No tub. There is no nature preserve or trails, contrary to listing (this was a reason for choosing this location). Cabin is overlooked by next unit, so be aware it’s not completely private. Bad situation redeemed: On day three, the septic backed up. They did send out Bill the handyman who verified the problem and helped to get me moved to another cabin. The rest of my week was brilliant. Like Bill said, “Attitude: The difference between an annoyance and an adventure.” I had an adventure.

The view from Hickory Hill would be hard to surpass in West Virginia for daytime viewing and for stargazing.
The second-floor bedroom (big loft) also had an unbeatable view both day and night. The A-Frame window lets you see almost as much as if you were on the deck. The upstairs bathroom also had a nice view. The bed was comfy. The kitchen and open living room had everything I needed for a lovely visit. I did not use the hot tub but it looked clean and new. Tony was very responsive and helpful. I will be back in the future!

The cabin was very clean and the furnishings comfortable. The cabin is small but perfect for a couple or two couples to relax and enjoy the beautiful views. Host was extremely responsive and helpful. Providing a cabin manual with links to videos was a wonderful idea.

It was in a beautiful area. The views were amazing. The kitchen and BBQ grilll was great. We enjoyed the privacy of the hot tub. only the lighting was dim. We were able to watch shows on Netflix. the area was convenient for us to visit old town Winchester and take a Potomac Eagle train ride Sunday Brunch. we connected easily to the Internet but it was a little slow at first. We slept upstairs but there was also a downstairs bedroom. the heating worked well. the blankets were more that adequate and we slept well.

We enjoyed our mini vacation at the cabin. The cabin faces west so, the sunsets over the valley were beautiful. Was a perfect location for the two of us. Families with small children would be challenged as the ground around the cabin is pretty rocky and steep, so parents would have keep their eyes on your kiddos. We loved the peace and quietness. Cabin was comfortable with the AC units as weather was warm for October. We also enjoy Capon Bridge where there just happens to be a very good Mexican restaurant!

This was my very first time using Airbnb, and it could not have been a better experience! I stayed at the cabin for 3 days last weekend and had such a wonderful time. The host was extremely responsive and provided so many helpful resources, including restaurant recommendations and clear guides for how to use the cabin’s amenities. Everything was easy to access and made the stay stress-free. The cabin itself felt very cozy and homey, making it the perfect getaway. Overall, I had an amazing stay and will definitely be recommending this location to friends and family!

We had an amazing stay at Tony’s cabin in Augusta. From start to finish, everything was super smooth. Tony was incredibly responsive and helpful the whole time, which made things so easy. The cabin itself had everything we needed, hot tub was easy to work and clean, and the views? Unreal. Seriously, it’s one of those places where you just want to sit outside and take it all in. I’ve already recommended it to a few friends, and we’d absolutely stay again without a second thought.

This was a beautiful place to stay for my birthday. Very peaceful, beautiful views from all around, quiet, wildlife sightings were amazing (other than the bugs LOL), and felt right at home. Tony was very helpful and checked up after the first night, very caring! Would definitely book again!

We had a fantastic stay at Hickory Hill! The cabin was cozy, clean, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. The setting was peaceful and private – perfect for a relaxing getaway. Communication from Tony was excellent throughout, with clear check-in instructions and helpful reminders. He even checked in to make sure we were comfortable and offered local recommendations. We truly appreciated the hospitality and would love to stay here again. Highly recommend!

The cabin is a great space for 1-4 guests. Open with lots of light, big windows and a great view. Very clean and comfortable. Easy to find and check in. Tony was super responsive and helpful. There’s not much to do in the immediate walkable area, but there are plenty of hikes and such in a 30-60min drive. Mostly a peaceful getaway retreat – perfect for that!

I booked this cabin as a surprise trip for my boyfriend’s birthday and it was the best decision I could have made! Tony’s place was even better than described. It was such a peaceful, beautiful property with the most amazing views, especially at sunset. We have stayed at a lot of different cabins, but we both agreed that we want to come back and stay at this one again. It was perfect!

The View!! Come for the view. This is an absolutely amazing location that feels a world away from the hustle of life. Waking up from the loft and looking out over the valley was magical. However, don’t come for luxury, this cabin needs some updates, that I hope are done soon to make it as special as it deserves to be.

Was a lovely weekend. This was the first time our family has ever stayed in a cabin and it would be a repeat experience. From the moment we arrived we immediately felt comfortable which led to the perfect weekend. Really appreciated that their was a hot tub available, though we never used it, but we did appreciate the firepit. Overall just a very pleasant experience.

My husband and I had a blast at the place! Beautiful views with a hot tub. Our only concern was that we didn’t have hot water for three days. Tony was responsive but didn’t provide any updates as to when it would be fixed by their handyman. We ended up fixing it ourselves the morning of check-out… Overall a good experience, would stay there again.

We stayed at Tony’s place in January. The mountain top view is nice, but it can be extremely cold and windy. (Check the weather before booking)
When we checked in the house was unoccupied and took some time to get the temps up.
The kitchen is small but there is a grill in the deck. Basic cooking amenities are provided.
The night sky is so dark and full of stars. (Consider if you like stargazing)

We will definitely be back. Tony was extremely proactive and responsive as a host, we knew exactly what to expect prior to the trip. The property is GORGEOUS and the house was cozy and very comfortable – especially the master bed – a good mattress goes a long way. It was the perfect getaway for our wedding anniversary, we relaxed in the hot tub and enjoyed the peace. We also appreciated being able to bring our dogs. The neighborhood is private and secluded but easy to get to. We stopped in Capon Bridge for food and the Farmers Daughter was excellent! Thanks for an amazing experience.

Tony was a great host, very friendl y, and was constantly in touch with us to make sure we got everything we needed (within the rules set forth ahead, and what we really needed as well). The place is in a very quiet location, and within reasonable drivable proximity (to the national park). We spent a lot of time outside the home, came home only for sleeping and so forth. So, this worked out well for us.
The amneties were good for the level of use we anticipated. Overall, satisfied with our stay for the purpose we had in our mind.

Amazing week stay at this cabin. Tony is a amazing host responds immediately and communication with us was great. Tony offered clear instructions on how to operate anything on the property. Every appliance from the grill, Jacuzzi, kitchen worked as intended.
The best thing about this property are the views waking up and the evening time with the sun exposing all the mountains. Most beautiful and peaceful scenery you can experience.
Overall it was a great stay 10/10.

We stayed here a family of four and 2 little dogs. The views were amazing. You could see for miles relaxing in the hot tub. Tony was very responsive and friendly as if we were friends! We had a true vacation. Kitchen had all we needed to cook and eat. It was very private and it was just the cabin we wanted for vacation!

Remarkable views in a secluded location. Despite being secluded, very easy to find and also get into. Perfect place for a getaway, and easy to maximize the value of the home. This place was amazing! Went on a birthday getaway trip and this place was exactly what we wanted. Very private and peaceful. The view in the morning was wonderful to look at. Very cozy inside and felt at home. Was a bit chilly but that didn’t stop us from trying the hot tub. It kept us warm even with the cold weather and seeing the sunset just made it all better. Beautiful location. Secluded. Amazing sunset views. Sitting room is great for sunrise and coffee. Went on cold weekend and the cabin was warm, plenty of hot water and amenities as expected from description of the property.
The communication from Tony was topnotch+. The “manual” provided everything needed to know about spending time there – even a YouTube video for using a lockbox!
It was a welcome escape from the suburban rat race. No loud neighbors, street traffic, etc. Completely quiet and peaceful surroundings.

Two thumbs up. We were hoping to spend more time outdoors, but it WAS January, along with wind, cold and snow. The views out the window and all around were lovely, and the cabin was cozy, once we got it warmed up, though a bit drafty downstairs. The stairs between the loft and the downstairs take a bit of contorting (especially for my very tall husband) to get up and down, but good, sturdy railings to grab hold of, which helped. We found all the kitchen utensils we needed to cook our meals. Good water pressure, plenty of hot water for showers and dishwashing, and easy to find what we needed in the kitchen. Some more small plates would be a nice addition, but all in all it was more than ample for 2 people. We’d love to revisit this area in the summertime, and Tony’s place at 555 Wild Boar would be a top choice!

We visited the cabin as the winter storm made its way across the country. The winds were so high that we decided to enjoy the cabin and not venture out to hike or explore the local area. The cabin is SOLID, the surrounding area very peaceful and quiet, and the views are amazing. The view is especially nice from the cozy loft. Due to the wind and temperatures, unfortunately we didn’t get to enjoy the hot tub or firepit. C’est la vie! I feel like this cabin offering is what AirBnB is all about–a host has a unique property and offers lodging at a fair price, and a guest has a unique experience that would otherwise not be available to them. (That is, the cabin is not glammed up with a matching price tag .) And a super-bonus is that pets are allowed!

Beautiful Views and quaint town. The space was clean and cozy. Small town with local gems (Farmers Daughter Butcher was our favorite, great burgers!)

Tony’s cabin had a gorgeous view of the mountains and it was truly in a secluded location. Our family enjoyed staying there for a weekend in Autumn. Do not expect a five star hotel, it is a cabin in the mountains. Everything was clean and the kitchen had the basics for cooking a quick meal. The heating worked well and the water for showers was hot. The firepit outside made our trip even more special. There was a hot tub too which we did not get the chance to use.

Perfect weekend getaway! The deck and oversized windows provided stunning views of the mountains and surrounding area. It was amazing to watch the sunset from that vantage point. The cabin was clean and cozy. Tony was extremely responsive and easy to communicate with.

The layout of the A-frame cabin is amazing with loft upstairs and full bath and downstairs bedroom with full bath behind the kitchen, and large windows in the living room! The view is spectacular and you could sit inside or outside all day studying the details inside and out!

Beautiful cabin with a million dollar view of West Virginina. View facing west so had great sunsets. really clean overall, with more than enough linens. Kitchen stocked with all necessary items to cook your own meals. There was a Peach festival at Romney, which was about 15-20 min drive from the cabin. had a peaceful retreat. Loved it and will come back again. Highly recommended.

Die Unterkunft ist ein Ferienhaus, hat dafür aber einen sehr hohen Standard: Zwei Queensize-Betten und zwei Duschbäder, eine voll ausgestattete Küche, Essplatz für 4 Personen, Sessel+Sofa für 4 Personen, Gasgrill und Feuerplatz. Das Highlight ist aber der Whirlpool im Garten, in dem wir abends im Dunkeln die Sterne und Sternschnuppen beobachtet haben. Was das Haus aber wirklich besonders macht, ist die beeindruckende Aussicht und die ungestörte Lage in der Natur.

Die Beleuchtung über dem Esstisch ist nicht optimal.

Tony’s cabin in the woods was exactly what we needed for our “mini-moon.” It was peaceful with a beautiful view and everything you need for an escape from the city. The patio was also an excellent location for birding! We’d definitely come back. Highly recommend!
As others have noted, I’d recommend driving in with groceries since there isn’t a supermarket nearby. The local restaurants were also quite good!

Beautiful cabin in an amazing location. A great spot to escape from the world for a few days without leaving any of the comforts behind. Watching the sun set over West Virginia’s mountains from the from the porch is enough to make you forget about why you needed the vacation in the first place. Kind and helpful host who was always eager to help. Cant recommend enough.

The cabin was very clean and the furnishings comfortable. The cabin is small but perfect for a couple or two couples to relax and enjoy the beautiful views. Host was extremely responsive and helpful. Providing a cabin manual with links to videos was a wonderful idea.

It was in a beautiful area. The views were amazing. The kitchen and BBQ grilll was great. We enjoyed the privacy of the hot tub. only the lighting was dim. We were able to watch shows on Netflix. the area was convenient for us to visit old town Winchester and take a Potomac Eagle train ride Sunday Brunch. we connected easily to the Internet but it was a little slow at first. We slept upstairs but there was also a downstairs bedroom. the heating worked well. the blankets were more that adequate and we slept well.

We enjoyed our mini vacation at the cabin. The cabin faces west so, the sunsets over the valley were beautiful. Was a perfect location for the two of us. Families with small children would be challenged as the ground around the cabin is pretty rocky and steep, so parents would have keep their eyes on your kiddos. We loved the peace and quietness. Cabin was comfortable with the AC units as weather was warm for October. We also enjoy Capon Bridge where there just happens to be a very good Mexican restaurant!

This was my very first time using Airbnb, and it could not have been a better experience! I stayed at the cabin for 3 days last weekend and had such a wonderful time. The host was extremely responsive and provided so many helpful resources, including restaurant recommendations and clear guides for how to use the cabin’s amenities. Everything was easy to access and made the stay stress-free. The cabin itself felt very cozy and homey, making it the perfect getaway. We had an amazing stay at Tony’s cabin in Augusta. From start to finish, everything was super smooth. Tony was incredibly responsive and helpful the whole time, which made things so easy. The cabin itself had everything we needed, hot tub was easy to work and clean, and the views? Unreal. Seriously, it’s one of those places where you just want to sit outside and take it all in. I’ve already recommended it to a few friends, and we’d absolutely stay again without a second thought.

We had a fantastic stay at Hickory Hill! The cabin was cozy, clean, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. The setting was peaceful and private - perfect for a relaxing getaway. The cabin is a great space for 1-4 guests. Open with lots of light, big windows and a great view. Very clean and comfortable. Easy to find and check in. Tony was super responsive and helpful. There's not much to do in the immediate walkable area, but there are plenty of hikes and such in a 30-60min drive. Mostly a peaceful getaway retreat - perfect for that!

I booked this cabin as a surprise trip for my boyfriend's birthday and it was the best decision I could have made! Tony's place was even better than described. It was such a peaceful, beautiful property with the most amazing views, especially at sunset. We have stayed at a lot of different cabins, but we both agreed that we want to come back and stay at this one again. It was perfect!

The View!! Come for the view. This is an absolutely amazing location that feels a world away from the hustle of life. Waking up from the loft and looking out over the valley was magical. However, don't come for luxury, this cabin needs some updates, that I hope are done soon to make it as special as it deserves to be.

Was a lovely weekend. This was the first time our family has ever stayed in a cabin and it would be a repeat experience. From the moment we arrived we immediately felt comfortable which led to the perfect weekend. Really appreciated that their was a hot tub available, though we never used it, but we did appreciate the firepit. Overall just a very pleasant experience.

Tony was responsive but didn't provide any updates as to when it would be fixed by their handyman. We ended up fixing it ourselves the morning of check-out... There were urine mark behind the toilet seat. Gross. Fridge I have to disinfect as it has some hair and debris in it. Not coming back to this place.

We stayed at Tony's place in January. The mountain top view is nice, but it can be extremely cold and windy. (Check the weather before booking)
When we checked in the house was unoccupied and took some time to get the temps up.
The kitchen is small but there is a grill in the deck. Basic cooking amenities are provided.
The night sky is so dark and full of stars. (Consider if you like stargazing)

We will definitely be back. Tony was extremely proactive and responsive as a host, we knew exactly what to expect prior to the trip. The property is GORGEOUS and the house was cozy and very comfortable - especially the master bed - a good mattress goes a long way. It was the perfect getaway for our wedding anniversary, we relaxed in the hot tub and enjoyed the peace. We also appreciated being able to bring our dogs. The neighborhood is private and secluded but easy to get to. We stopped in Capon Bridge for food and the Farmers Daughter was excellent! Thanks for an amazing experience.

Tony was a great host, very friendl y, and was constantly in touch with us to make sure we got everything we needed (within the rules set forth ahead, and what we really needed as well). The place is in a very quiet location, and within reasonable drivable proximity (to the national park). We spent a lot of time outside the home, came home only for sleeping and so forth. So, this worked out well for us.
The amneties were good for the level of use we anticipated. Overall, satisfied with our stay for the purpose we had in our mind.

Amazing week stay at this cabin. Tony is a amazing host responds immediately and communication with us was great. Tony offered clear instructions on how to operate anything on the property. Every appliance from the grill, Jacuzzi, kitchen worked as intended.
The best thing about this property are the views waking up and the evening time with the sun exposing all the mountains. Most beautiful and peaceful scenery you can experience.
Overall it was a great stay 10/10.

We stayed here a family of four and 2 little dogs. The views were amazing. You could see for miles relaxing in the hot tub. Tony was very responsive and friendly as if we were friends! We had a true vacation. Kitchen had all we needed to cook and eat. It was very private and it was just the cabin we wanted for vacation!

This place was amazing! Went on a birthday getaway trip and this place was exactly what we wanted. Very private and peaceful. The view in the morning was wonderful to look at. Very cozy inside and felt at home. Was a bit chilly but that didn’t stop us from trying the hot tub. It kept us warm even with the cold weather and seeing the sunset just made it all better. Beautiful location. Secluded. Amazing sunset views. Sitting room is great for sunrise and coffee. Went on cold weekend and the cabin was warm, plenty of hot water and amenities as expected from description of the property.
The communication from Tony was topnotch+. The "manual" provided everything needed to know about spending time there - even a YouTube video for using a lockbox!
It was a welcome escape from the suburban rat race. No loud neighbors, street traffic, etc. Completely quiet and peaceful surroundings.

Two thumbs up. We were hoping to spend more time outdoors, but it WAS January, along with wind, cold and snow. The views out the window and all around were lovely, and the cabin was cozy, once we got it warmed up, though a bit drafty downstairs. The stairs between the loft and the downstairs take a bit of contorting (especially for my very tall husband) to get up and down, but good, sturdy railings to grab hold of, which helped. We found all the kitchen utensils we needed to cook our meals. Good water pressure, plenty of hot water for showers and dishwashing, and easy to find what we needed in the kitchen. Some more small plates would be a nice addition, but all in all it was more than ample for 2 people. We'd love to revisit this area in the summertime, and Tony's place at 555 Wild Boar would be a top choice!

We visited the cabin as the winter storm made its way across the country. The winds were so high that we decided to enjoy the cabin and not venture out to hike or explore the local area. The cabin is SOLID, the surrounding area very peaceful and quiet, and the views are amazing. The view is especially nice from the cozy loft. Due to the wind and temperatures, unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy the hot tub or firepit. C'est la vie! I feel like this cabin offering is what AirBnB is all about--a host has a unique property and offers lodging at a fair price, and a guest has a unique experience that would otherwise not be available to them. (That is, the cabin is not glammed up with a matching price tag .) And a super-bonus is that pets are allowed!

There were a few issues we had right from the start. Here are the items that were described in the booking that are not actually available. No central air, no washer/dryer, no fully stocked kitchen, it had the bare essentials, no dishwasher, no bath tub. The setup in the living room is weird. The table was broken. This is a property is managed by a third party and the owner Tony seems to know little about it. The maintenance guy they sent was unable to fix a basic problem with the table. With all the issue we had I will say that Tony was very responsive and after I pointed out the lack of listed amenities he did offer a 100 dollar refund and sent out a maintenance guy. This is a beautiful cabin and the location was perfect. I just think the management company needs to be replaced because the basic maintenance is not being kept up. Also had many light bulbs out.

Tony's cabin had a gorgeous view of the mountains and it was truly in a secluded location. Our family enjoyed staying there for a weekend in Autumn. Do not expect a five star hotel, it is a cabin in the mountains. Everything was clean and the kitchen had the basics for cooking a quick meal. The heating worked well and the water for showers was hot. The firepit outside made our trip even more special. There was a hot tub too which we did not get the chance to use.

The layout of the A-frame cabin is amazing with loft upstairs and full bath and downstairs bedroom with full bath behind the kitchen, and large windows in the living room! The view is spectacular and you could sit inside or outside all day studying the details inside and out!

Kitchen stocked with all necessary items to cook your own meals. There was a Peach festival at Romney, which was about 15-20 min drive from the cabin. had a peaceful retreat. Loved it and will come back again. Highly recommended.

Die Unterkunft ist ein Ferienhaus, hat dafür aber einen sehr hohen Standard: Zwei Queensize-Betten und zwei Duschbäder, eine voll ausgestattete Küche, Essplatz für 4 Personen, Sessel+Sofa für 4 Personen, Gasgrill und Feuerplatz. Das Highlight ist aber der Whirlpool im Garten, in dem wir abends im Dunkeln die Sterne und Sternschnuppen beobachtet haben. Was das Haus aber wirklich besonders macht, ist die beeindruckende Aussicht und die ungestörte Lage in der Natur.

Tony’s cabin in the woods was exactly what we needed for our “mini-moon.” It was peaceful with a beautiful view and everything you need for an escape from the city. The patio was also an excellent location for birding! We’d definitely come back. Highly recommend!
As others have noted, I’d recommend driving in with groceries since there isn’t a supermarket nearby. The local restaurants were also quite good!

Beautiful cabin in an amazing location. A great spot to escape from the world for a few days without leaving any of the comforts behind. Watching the sun set over West Virginia’s mountains from the from the porch is enough to make you forget about why you needed the vacation in the first place. Kind and helpful host who was always eager to help. Cant recommend enough.
