1. Western Maryland Rail Trail (WMRT) (distance from house - 20 minutes) a 22-mile rail-trail that runs parallel to the C&O Canal Towpath and follows the route of the former Western Maryland Railway. An excellent option for walking, hiking, and cycling.
2. Berkeley Springs State Park (distance from house - 25 minutes): Known for its natural mineral springs and spa services, it's a lovely spot for relaxation.
3. The Old Roman Bathhouse (distance from house - 15 minutes): Home to a mineral spa that has been in use since colonial times, the park’s Old Roman and Main bathhouses offer a wide selection of spa services, including massages, saunas, baths and showers.
4. Cacapon Resort State Park (distance from house - 35 minutes): Offers hiking, fishing, and golfing, with beautiful views and various trails.
