We needed a place to stay at Alpine Lake for an event. This house was the only one available that met our needs and the host did an excellent job of communicating. It had everything we needed for our weekend stay. The house is much older than it appears from the pictures. This was our third trip to Alpine Lake within the past year. Unfortunately this was our least favorite house. Compared to the other houses in the same community, this was the most expensive but didn’t feel like it should’ve been. The house itself is very old and while there were renovations, they were not done in a professional manner. The air units were sealed with packing tape, the toilet felt like it was going to slide off of the floor, and the floor upstairs and staircase felt very unstable. However, despite those things, the house was clean and the decor was well done. Nice house but the price was too steep.

Great location, close to the resort. We were in a golf tournament so we weren’t there much but it worked for what we needed it for.

A beautiful and quiet place to stay. The place was clean and really well taken care of when we arrived. Had everything we needed and the resort Lake was honestly so much fun! And a beautiful drive to deep Creek and other surrounding towns! I definitely recommend it and would stay there again!

The place was absolutely perfectly for a long weekend getaway with our kids. Tony gave great instructions and check-in was a breeze. There were plenty of towels and even kids’ soap in the showers. The kids loved their room and said their beds were super comfy. They built fairy gardens in the wooded yard and we made smores in the fire pit. We used the grill and kitchen to prepare most meals and everything worked fine. We went to nearby parks (we highly recommend Swallow Falls State Park and also visited the West Virginia Botanic Garden) and did not use the resort amenities during our stay. The WiFi worked well, but cell service inside the house was pretty much non-existent (which Tony had told us about ahead of time). This wasn’t a huge deal, as we just stepped outside if we needed to make a call or used an App. Tony was a great host and left good instructions. We had everything we needed and was very clean on arrival. We’d definitely stay there again

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at The Robin’s Nest. Unfortunately, it was cold and rainy the first day. So, we just hung out at the cabin. But, we were able to do some exploring on day 2.

Our family recently enjoyed a delightful stay at a cozy cabin nestled in a serene, wooded area. It was the peaceful retreat we were looking for, with all the comforts of home. The cabin’s rustic ambiance and thoughtful design made it easy to relax. Our host, Tony, was incredibly welcoming and attentive, promptly responding to messages and ensuring we had everything we needed. One memorable moment was a black bear visit on our second night! While thrilling, it was a reminder of the importance of proper garbage disposal to avoid such encounters. The resort’s restaurant, with its stunning views, was another highlight. The meals were good, and the convenience of dining nearby enhanced our stay. Though we loved our time, a few areas could use some TLC. The cabin’s exterior needed cleaning, and some trees around the cabin appeared hazardous. Inside, the kitchen island and back porch furniture needed repairs. Despite these issues, we had a fantastic time and highly recommend the cabin.

Our family had a wonderful stay at the cabin! It was clean and peaceful, and the access to the resort activities was a bonus. Tony was extremely responsive and helpful with suggestions. We felt like we really lucked out with this find.

This was a great weekend cabin getaway location. There ended up being 6 of us stay and our dog and we had plenty of room and the cabin was very clean. The location is very peaceful and the outdoor fire pit was great. Tony was very informative of the things to do in the area and we had a overall great experience.

The cabin is an older cabin but in a very nice gated community. We were only there overnight so we didn’t get to see much of the area.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was cozy and well-equipped with everything we needed, like home away from home. The weather wasn’t the greatest, so we didn’t get to enjoy the surrounding trails and lake as much, but still very serene and peaceful. Tony was great and we would definitely stay again.

This was the perfect getaway for our family (three kids plus a dog). Our kids really enjoyed the cabin itself, but also the indoor pool and gameroom at the lake. Napping with the rain on the roof was amazing, and our dog really loved going on walks in the woods.

This cabin was the perfect spot for a getaway! Its quiet and serene atmosphere created a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The backyard was perfect for our german shepherd to run around and play fetch. Tony’s communication was proactive, clear, and he always responded in a timely manner. We had a great experience and would go back!

Tony was a very communicative host; before, during, and after our stay. He gave recommendations for everything you could have questions for. The airbnb is in a great spot, once you get out the driveway you get an amazing view of the lake which in my opinion is the best way to start any morning. Unfortunately, the weather was bad when we went but that didn’t stop us from enjoying our stay. We will be returning for warmer days as this spot is a hidden gem. 10/10 recommend!

Tony’s place is great. If you stay there you get to feel what life in the mountains is like, but with all the conveniences of a well-equipped home. The cabin is surrounded by trees, and if you walk downhill for a little, you get rewarded with great a great view of Alpine Lake. Tony is very responsive and made sure that we had everything we needed. I hope to stay there again in the future.

Nice place for a last minute getaway. Great parks nearby and lovely surroundings. The place is comfortable and peaceful. Only ding was the cleanliness. There were some dishes that had been put away dirty, what looked like cigarette burns on the couch, and other relatively minor issues. Not enough to ruin the weekend or anything, but noticeable.

Great stay in Alpine Lake. We came in the off-season so it was nice and quiet, really beautiful and peaceful. Cabin is well laid out and has everything you’d need. Will plan to return in the summer to check out the rest of the resort amenities.

Cabin was not clean upon entry. We were traveling with small children and had to clean the space before we felt comfortable letting them play. Not a ton of local attractions but hiking trails in MD were fun and not too far of a drive. Fire pit was the perfect way to relax after a day of hiking!

Positive: Location was outstanding. Somewhere Ive never heard of or thought I would ever visit. Wish I would have checked the weather, it was a little colder than expected. Negative: Wasnt enough fire wood when arrived. In all, towns people helped tremendously. With the prices of fire wood and places to get the cheapest.

Fun cabin in the woods near beautiful lake. Cabin is 10 min walk or short drive from playground or boat rental and club house. We used the pool at the lodge but had issues with our pool pass (included) which was easily resolved by friendly staff. Tony was very responsive and gave recommendations for local restaurants which are about 20min drive to closest. The community lodge has a decent restaurant if you don’t want to drive. Didn’t get to fish but they do stock the lake. All in all a good spot if your looking for a cabin off the beaten path with amenities around.

Overall we had a good stay at Tony’s place, only booked for one night, so didn’t have a chance to fully explore the area. The cabin is as described, appx 5 min drive from Alpine lake, check-in process was very smooth. Inside the house looks nice, but not the cleanest. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher, the trash can was dirty on the outside with no trash bag inside. The kitchen could have been stocked better, we couldn’t find any wine glasses. Compared to some other well stocked airbnbs we stayed before this felt below average. Overall a good lake house to stay if you don’t care for those little things.

Was a great place clean. Heat worked fine. We were happy with it. Stayed in it for work and felt like home. The ave nearby has good food and some beautiful waitresses.

Great place in the woods. Felt safe with the gated community. The pool at the resort was an added bonus. We ate dinner at the resort and the food was really good and fairly priced. Alpine lake was absolutely gorgeous and the kids loved playing on the beach. Loved the property! There are chipmunks running everywhere and they were really fun to watch, especially for the kids. We had deer right in the back yard our first night there. Had a very nice fire pit with nice chairs. They provided plenty of towels and toilet paper for the week. It was nice having a washer and dryer so we could come home with no dirty laundry (bring your own detergent). The owner was responsive and helpful with any concerns or questions we had and checked in the make sure we were comfortable. I Recommend!

The house was comfortable and just what we needed – we were thrilled to be able to bring our dog and he settled in nicely too. Tony was communicative and welcoming, and arrival was very smooth. Unfortunately, the dishwasher had a broken part and the dryer lint filter was very full, so dishes and sheets needed re-washing right away, but Tony was very apologetic and promised to address for future tenants.

Tony was a great host! From the moment we scheduled, we got an email with detailed home and resort information. We knew what to expect before we got there, and planned food accordingly. The house was just enough space for our family and our dog. We loved sitting around the firepit and enjoying the quiet space. The resort was close by and had plenty of amenities to keep us entertained during the day. Close to deep creek, we were able to enjoy the benefits of MD and WV without having to go too far. Tony was a responsive and an attentive host. Will definitely come back!

This place was nice. Your in a nice private community by a lake but the cabin is in a quiet place. Your best option for food is to drive 30 minutes to Oakland, also there great hiking there. Tony was a great host and I enjoyed my stay!

Tony’s place was perfect for a last minute weekend getaway for me and my husband and our dog! We loved how private it was and it’s proximity to swallow falls and Blackwater falls! Tony was incredibly responsive and communicative throughout our stay.

The cabin was great and the area was amazing! It was the perfect balance of feeling like we were getting away from the city while still having things like groceries and restaurants less than 15 minutes away. It was especially nice having the indoor pool just down the road in the main building. The cabin was cozy without feeling small or cramped and had everything we needed. We had an amazing time and would definitely do it again!

Overall great air bnb, the community is private and we felt very safe here. It was a great spot to get away. The air bnb itself was very cozy and comfortable. We drove to Oakland which is about 30 mins most days for food, groceries, hiking, etc. if you bring your dog be sure to look up which areas/restaurants/trails are dog friendly!

Our family, grandparents, parents, our 5 and 6 year old and two four legged friends, had a wonderful stay at Tony’s! Our weekend was filled with fishing at the lake, playing at the playground, putt putt, backyard fire pit and we went for a hike at sparrow falls(which we highly recommend!). Thank you tony for letting us use your cabin to escape the chaos of life, even if it was just for the weekend!

The Robin’s nest is a great secluded place to stay. Very spacious and with great backyard. Just keep in mind is all covered by trees and vegetation, so not much sunlight gets there. At least by the end of August when we visited. The host was very attentive and was very fast sending responses and making sure the place was ready for us. Even though we didn’t have the best of luck with weather, it didn’t stop us from enjoying all the outdoor activities that the place has to offer. Our favorite activities were fishing and spending time at the private beach in the complex. Make sure to bring groceries and any items you might need right away as the closest full supermarket is in Oakland (about 30 min away). We also liked the proximity to Deep Creek Lake area for dinner and ice cream options.

Great way to recharge with friends! Definitely make time to visit the lake, rent a canoe/kayak or paddle board and venture around – you can even take it to the beach. It’s an absolute blast! (If you’re lucky, ask locals for secret spots and you might find gems around the community.) If anyone here wants to venture outside the property, and swim around waterfalls, check out Swallow Falls State Park. It is $3 per MD resident and $5 per non-MD resident. Make a day trip out of it, you will not regret it! Anyways, my friends and I had a lovely time. Tony’s a great host, and always on point if you ever have any questions. 👍👍

Nice stay, but the listing needs clarification: This house is good for 2 couples and 2 singles/kids max; there are 2 queens and 2 twin beds only (not doubles as listed). There are 2 bedrooms and an open loft area. The private beach/lake in the listing is 15min walk (0.7miles) to the community Alpine Lake Boat Dock and Picnic Spot.

We stayed over one night in this charming cabin, even got to enjoy a dip in the lake before thunderstorm & tornado warnings in the area! Unfortunately that meant we could not utilize the fire pit, but luckily the nastier weather stayed north of us & it was just a peaceful rainy night at the lake! The beds were comfortable & the AC wall units kept the cabin a nice temperature. It was nice to be able to refresh our cross-country road trip laundry, plus we enjoyed all the small touches & amenities throughout. We pretty much had everything we needed & wish we could’ve stayed longer to enjoy more of the lake and outdoor activities. This is a WV wooded area, so of course the bugs are plenty…but everything in the cabin was clean & fresh. Tony’s communication & instructions were excellent, even later when reporting a lost item that we thought we left behind in the fridge, that has so far not been found:( So, for future stays…if any of you happen to find a teal hydro flask water bottle with a bunch of stickers on it, please reach out to Tony, we would love to be reunited with it as it’s a sentimental item to us!

If your family loves the great outdoors, this is the place for you! Access to a beautiful private beach and swimming, kayaking/paddle boating is awesome. The backyard is perfect for summer nights: roasting s’mores and chasing fireflies. All of the rooms are so spacious! Our daughter even did a little indoor camping in our pop up tent in the big bedroom. Amenities are great. Kitchen is sufficient for meals at home and you’re still within a thirty minute drive of local restaurants. The house manual is a great guide to your entire stay and the host is so gracious and helpful. We can’t wait to come back!

The cabin was so adorable! The fact that there was a guard shack made me feel safe staying there. The only downside is there are almost no food options nearby. My family is vegetarian and finding food was a real challenge. I also assumed the lake was closer to the cabin than it actually was. Overall I was highly satisfied and would go back again

Nice cozy little cabin to get away. Lake access is less than a 5 min drive. we were thankful that the cabin was pet friendly. we got to bring our puppy and he enjoyed his time as much as we did. Eating out is a 20 min drive. There is a grocery store about 10 min away that does have everything you need and there is a grill on the deck. Tony was definitely attentive and reached out during our stay. I’ll definitely be back.

This is a charming cabin in a beautiful area. You are secluded but close enough to the lodge to access all of their amenities. The cabin is well maintained and has all of the basic necessities your would need. We loved the fire pit and the access to many hiking spots close by. The house manual was full of useful information and Tony was always available for any questions or concerns. We would return in a heartbeat!

Checkin was easy, Tony even offered us an early checkin. The community in which the property is located is beautiful and offers many different activities. The home was nice, cozy and clean. I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice, quite getaway.

It rained all weekend of our weekend getaway. We used the hotel pool and watched Netflix. Not a lot of restaurant choices nearby.

Nice community. the lake is beautiful and there are many outdoor activities to enjoy. The cabin is in good shape although it needs some repairs and upgrades. Tony was always available and the access was easy.

Only thing I would bring up is that the house is very loft-like—meaning you can hear what’s going on in all the rooms no matter where you are in the home. We had such a wonderful weekend. The wifi was fast, water was hot, the firepit was so nice. The cabin had so much space. We enjoyed the place even in March, during the off season. Tony checked in on us several times and the style of the place was so enjoyable.

When i first stumbled upon this cabin on AirBnB, it seemed almost too good to be true. There must be a catch! But everything was as perfect as it seemed online. Tony is the most thoughtful, gracious host. He was very very accommodating,provided us with all the information we needed and always there when need him.The cabin is just Phenomenal.It is compact, clean and contains everything one needs. I would definitely come again and would absolutely recommend to stay there.

We booked this place for a short vacation for the first time in two years! The place was immaculately clean when we arrived, and was extremely spacious for two people! It was definitely cold and iced over, but we got to build a fire outback and the a/c heating was fast and warm. Tony was an incredible host reaching out every opportunity he could to make sure we were having the best stay! Would definitely come back in warmer weather to truly appreciate the lake and other amenities!

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. While we visited in the winter, Alpine Lake is a cool little community with lots to do in the summer.

We loved staying in this cabin over the holidays! It was quiet and felt remote, even though it is only a few minutes drive from a small grocery store and about 30 minutes from Deep Creek Lake. We had a few wildlife sightings (deer and wild turkey), but we did hear a critter on the roof/in the walls, which is to be expected in a country cabin. We had just about everything we needed to cook our Christmas Dinner, but we’d recommend bringing an extra frying pan and Tupperware if you plan to cook large meals. Keep in mind most of the plates and bowls are made of plastic, so we brought our own paper plates to use. The heat worked great, and the cabin was tastefully decorated (the couch and seating comfortably fit 4 adults and 2 small dogs, but you may not fit more than that). The beds were made of some type of foam and quite comfortable, and the sheets/bedding/towels provided were great. Tony was excellent at communicating (even over a holiday weekend), and we’d book with him again in a heart beat. Thanks for making our holiday special!

It was a lovely long weekend at the cabin with the kids. Alpine Lake is a great easy-living retreat for anyone especially for families and this cabin is ideally located to take advantage of its amenities. The lot also provides seclusion and enough space for the kids to explore the surrounding forests with independence while safe.
