Although I was staying for a business trip and didn’t plan on anything but a place to lay my head for the night. This home was just that, it made me feel comfortable and safe from the moment I stepped foot in the door. Nothing was out of place. Everything was clean and spotless. The atmosphere was like I was walking into my own home. I will definitely be back. Thank you for thinking of everything I needed and many other small items that I wouldn’t have thought I may need but was there, just in case!

Nice, rustic cabin in safe community. Easy check in.
2 of the heaters were not working upon arrival. Notified owner next morning. Was told they were contacting maintenance. Never received any updates, nor were heaters fixed during my stay. There were high winds & cold temps. the living/kitchen area was uncomfortably cold.
Had the heat been fixed in a timely fashion, it would have been a great stay.

I had a great time staying here! My hosts were very communicative and the cabin is as advertised. I went for peace and quiet and that is what I got. I would recommend this place for 2-4 people looking to play some early fall golf and fish. If you are bringing kids or looking for a lot of convenient local activities, the area isn’t for you. The lodge’s prices for food and drinks were high so bring your own. On the positive side, the cabin was so cozy I didn’t want to leave. Unfortunately, due to the time of year, it hadn’t snowed to be able to snowboarding or skiing but the first day was warm enough to play golf comfortably.

Our stay at the Robins Nest went great! The house was clean and cozy. We brought along our 2 dogs and they loved watching the deer and wildlife from the front door. Tony was very communicative and friendly.

Tony & Blue Maples place, was a wonderful escape to the woods. Our dog felt very comfortable and loved the backyard space. The fire pit was so much fun, nicely set up with chairs. There was plenty options of rooms and beds to choose from. Both bathrooms were great. And the shower upstairs had good water pressure and hot water. Kitchen space worked out good for us, has all the essentials you need. Living room/tv area was okay. Couch could be improved, space and comfort were not great. The three decks (upstairs, back yard and steps out front) need improvement. Especially when it’s raining, slippery. Plenty of space in the drive way. The amenities of staying in the Alpine resorts are a very nice feature. We were hoping for kayaking on the lake, but according to the lodge it was done for the season. The house manual says it goes until October, so if you want to go kayaking in the last week/weekend of September bring your own kayak. Great communication with the host. Very helpful.

Our stay with Tony was great – perfect getaway for a long weekend. The house is a great size for a medium sized group and is in a great location. Tony was very responsive if we had any questions.

The cottage was wonderful on the inside. The outside, not so much. We know the weather with rain was not great, but the back deck was gross and had bad stairs. Like not complete stairs. There was also winter shovels and a bucket of something that should not have been there. Like I said, it was a cute cottage but the outside was not comforting.

My friends and I rented this cabin for New Year’s Eve and it was the best decision. The cabin is so cozy and the place so quiet. Everything was perfect, the rooms, the furniture, everything went well. Tony was very helpful and answered right away. We love the cabin. For sure we can go again.

For sure host and his place is good but roads gets clogged in snow and if your car gets stuck in snow then only option you have is to tow the car.

Great cabin!
Snowed quite a lot while we were there. The main road for the resort was plowed early the next morning. Tried to get out of the court that the cabin is on in our all wheel-drive SUV and could not do to the snow. We just so happened to see a snow truck driving by and asked if they would plow the road and they did. Otherwise, if you’re coming up without a 4-wheel drive truck and it’s going to snow, I wouldn’t plan on getting out early.

Cute red cabin in the woods, on private Alpine Lake Resort. The cabin is perfect for a peaceful getaway but also close to Coopers Rock & Blackwater Falls. Clean, plenty of linens & towels, and all the necessities in the kitchen. Host super responsive and accommodating. Thank you!

We needed a place to stay at Alpine Lake for an event. This house was the only one available that met our needs and the host did an excellent job of communicating. It had everything we needed for our weekend stay. The house is much older than it appears from the pictures. This was our third trip to Alpine Lake within the past year. Unfortunately this was our least favorite house. Compared to the other houses in the same community, this was the most expensive but didn’t feel like it should’ve been. The house itself is very old and while there were renovations, they were not done in a professional manner. The air units were sealed with packing tape, the toilet felt like it was going to slide off of the floor, and the floor upstairs and staircase felt very unstable. However, despite those things, the house was clean and the decor was well done. Nice house but the price was too steep.

A beautiful and quiet place to stay. The place was clean and really well taken care of when we arrived. Had everything we needed and the resort Lake was honestly so much fun! And a beautiful drive to deep Creek and other surrounding towns! I definitely recommend it and would stay there again!

The place was absolutely perfectly for a long weekend getaway with our kids. Tony gave great instructions and check-in was a breeze. There were plenty of towels and even kids’ soap in the showers. The kids loved their room and said their beds were super comfy. They built fairy gardens in the wooded yard and we made smores in the fire pit. We used the grill and kitchen to prepare most meals and everything worked fine.
We went to nearby parks (we highly recommend Swallow Falls State Park and also visited the West Virginia Botanic Garden) and did not use the resort amenities during our stay. The WiFi worked well, but cell service inside the house was pretty much non-existent (which Tony had told us about ahead of time). This wasn’t a huge deal, as we just stepped outside if we needed to make a call or used an App.
Tony was a great host and left good instructions. We had everything we needed and was very clean on arrival. We’d definitely stay there again

Our family recently enjoyed a delightful stay at a cozy cabin nestled in a serene, wooded area. It was the peaceful retreat we were looking for, with all the comforts of home. The cabin’s rustic ambiance and thoughtful design made it easy to relax. Our host, Tony, was incredibly welcoming and attentive, promptly responding to messages and ensuring we had everything we needed. One memorable moment was a black bear visit on our second night! While thrilling, it was a reminder of the importance of proper garbage disposal to avoid such encounters. The resort’s restaurant, with its stunning views, was another highlight. The meals were good, and the convenience of dining nearby enhanced our stay. Though we loved our time, a few areas could use some TLC. The cabin’s exterior needed cleaning, and some trees around the cabin appeared hazardous. Inside, the kitchen island and back porch furniture needed repairs. Despite these issues, we had a fantastic time and highly recommend the cabin.

My husband and I stayed at Tony’s listing for a weekend getaway for our anniversary. We love escaping to the mountains. Tony’s house was clean (compliments) to the cleaning staff.
We felt instantly relaxed. The property is quiet and a really great place to go to unwind. We spent our time cooking, enjoying the fire pit and hiking.

This was a great weekend cabin getaway location. There ended up being 6 of us stay and our dog and we had plenty of room and the cabin was very clean. The location is very peaceful and the outdoor fire pit was great. Tony was very informative of the things to do in the area and we had a overall great experience.

This was the perfect getaway for our family (three kids plus a dog). Our kids really enjoyed the cabin itself, but also the indoor pool and gameroom at the lake. Napping with the rain on the roof was amazing, and our dog really loved going on walks in the woods.

This cabin was the perfect spot for a getaway! Its quiet and serene atmosphere created a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The backyard was perfect for our german shepherd to run around and play fetch.
Tony’s communication was proactive, clear, and he always responded in a timely manner. We had a great experience and would go back!

Tony was a very communicative host; before, during, and after our stay. He gave recommendations for everything you could have questions for. The airbnb is in a great spot, once you get out the driveway you get an amazing view of the lake which in my opinion is the best way to start any morning. Unfortunately, the weather was bad when we went but that didn’t stop us from enjoying our stay. We will be returning for warmer days as this spot is a hidden gem. 10/10 recommend!

Tony’s place is great. If you stay there you get to feel what life in the mountains is like, but with all the conveniences of a well-equipped home. The cabin is surrounded by trees, and if you walk downhill for a little, you get rewarded with great a great view of Alpine Lake. Tony is very responsive and made sure that we had everything we needed. I hope to stay there again in the future.

Nice place for a last minute getaway. Great parks nearby and lovely surroundings. The place is comfortable and peaceful. Only ding was the cleanliness. There were some dishes that had been put away dirty, what looked like cigarette burns on the couch, and other relatively minor issues. Not enough to ruin the weekend or anything, but noticeable.

Great stay in Alpine Lake. We came in the off-season so it was nice and quiet, really beautiful and peaceful.
Cabin is well laid out and has everything you’d need. Will plan to return in the summer to check out the rest of the resort amenities.

Cabin was not clean upon entry. We were traveling with small children and had to clean the space before we felt comfortable letting them play. Not a ton of local attractions but hiking trails in MD were fun and not too far of a drive. Fire pit was the perfect way to relax after a day of hiking!

Fun cabin in the woods near beautiful lake. Cabin is 10 min walk or short drive from playground or boat rental and club house. We used the pool at the lodge but had issues with our pool pass (included) which was easily resolved by friendly staff. Tony was very responsive and gave recommendations for local restaurants which are about 20min drive to closest. The community lodge has a decent restaurant if you don’t want to drive. Didn’t get to fish but they do stock the lake. All in all a good spot if your looking for a cabin off the beaten path with amenities around.

Overall we had a good stay at Tony’s place, only booked for one night, so didn’t have a chance to fully explore the area.
The cabin is as described, appx 5 min drive from Alpine lake, check-in process was very smooth.
Inside the house looks nice, but not the cleanest. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher, the trash can was dirty on the outside with no trash bag inside.
The kitchen could have been stocked better, we couldn’t find any wine glasses.
Compared to some other well stocked airbnbs we stayed before this felt below average.
Overall a good lake house to stay if you don’t care for those little things.

Great place in the woods. Felt safe with the gated community. The pool at the resort was an added bonus. We ate dinner at the resort and the food was really good and fairly priced. Alpine lake was absolutely gorgeous and the kids loved playing on the beach.
Loved the property! There are chipmunks running everywhere and they were really fun to watch, especially for the kids. We had deer right in the back yard our first night there. Had a very nice fire pit with nice chairs. They provided plenty of towels and toilet paper for the week. It was nice having a washer and dryer so we could come home with no dirty laundry (bring your own detergent).
The owner was responsive and helpful with any concerns or questions we had and checked in the make sure we were comfortable. I Recommend!

The house was comfortable and just what we needed – we were thrilled to be able to bring our dog and he settled in nicely too. Tony was communicative and welcoming, and arrival was very smooth. Unfortunately, the dishwasher had a broken part and the dryer lint filter was very full, so dishes and sheets needed re-washing right away, but Tony was very apologetic and promised to address for future tenants.

Tony was a great host! From the moment we scheduled, we got an email with detailed home and resort information. We knew what to expect before we got there, and planned food accordingly. The house was just enough space for our family and our dog. We loved sitting around the firepit and enjoying the quiet space. The resort was close by and had plenty of amenities to keep us entertained during the day. Close to deep creek, we were able to enjoy the benefits of MD and WV without having to go too far. Tony was a responsive and an attentive host. Will definitely come back!

When we arrived the two trash bins outside were completely full and trash bag on top of bins. We arrived on Tuesday and management didn’t do anything about the trash even though we stayed until Sunday. so later we had animals at the property including a skunk when returning home after an evening out. The back door to the porch was also broken and no one came out to fix. The pictures provided on this website are old and the property doesn’t look that nice in person. They did the basics to clean inside but it just needs a good spring cleaning, attention to details, replacement of bulbs, power washing outside.

My friends and I rented this cabin for New Year's Eve and it was the best decision. The cabin is so cozy and the place so quiet. Everything was perfect, the rooms, the furniture, everything went well. Tony was very helpful and answered right away. We love the cabin. For sure we can go again.

For sure host and his place is good but roads gets clogged in snow and if your car gets stuck in snow then only option you have is to tow the car.

Great cabin!
Snowed quite a lot while we were there. The main road for the resort was plowed early the next morning. Tried to get out of the court that the cabin is on in our all wheel-drive SUV and could not do to the snow. We just so happened to see a snow truck driving by and asked if they would plow the road and they did. Otherwise, if you’re coming up without a 4-wheel drive truck and it’s going to snow, I wouldn’t plan on getting out early.

Cute red cabin in the woods, on private Alpine Lake Resort. The cabin is perfect for a peaceful getaway but also close to Coopers Rock & Blackwater Falls. Clean, plenty of linens & towels, and all the necessities in the kitchen. Host super responsive and accommodating. Thank you!

We needed a place to stay at Alpine Lake for an event. This house was the only one available that met our needs and the host did an excellent job of communicating. It had everything we needed for our weekend stay. The house is much older than it appears from the pictures. This was our third trip to Alpine Lake within the past year. Unfortunately this was our least favorite house. Compared to the other houses in the same community, this was the most expensive but didn’t feel like it should’ve been. The house itself is very old and while there were renovations, they were not done in a professional manner. The air units were sealed with packing tape, the toilet felt like it was going to slide off of the floor, and the floor upstairs and staircase felt very unstable. However, despite those things, the house was clean and the decor was well done. Nice house but the price was too steep.

The best thing about my stay was the location and how responsive the host was. He was extremely friendly, and helpful. However my issue(s) were, the photos provided were clearly outdated considering that wasn’t even the couch that was there. Good bit of paint chips in the kitchen, etc. I noticed a decent amount of human hair hanging from the stairs right above the coffee pot and microwave. That was unsettling to say the least. I definitely don’t feel like the $89.00 cleaning fee was justified to me at all. The kitchen pots and pans were also barely functional/outdated. We occurred an issue with the downstairs bathroom sink because it wouldn’t drain. The host however, was very accommodating and asked if we wanted someone to come and fix it. Decided to wait because we didn’t wanna be disturbed on our stay. The host definitely delivered on the hospitality. There is no discrediting that but as my girlfriend said, “feels like those pictures were 10 years old”. Disappointed for the price.

A beautiful and quiet place to stay. The place was clean and really well taken care of when we arrived. Had everything we needed and the resort Lake was honestly so much fun! And a beautiful drive to deep Creek and other surrounding towns! I definitely recommend it and would stay there again!

The place was absolutely perfectly for a long weekend getaway with our kids. Tony gave great instructions and check-in was a breeze. There were plenty of towels and even kids' soap in the showers. The kids loved their room and said their beds were super comfy. They built fairy gardens in the wooded yard and we made smores in the fire pit. We used the grill and kitchen to prepare most meals and everything worked fine.
We went to nearby parks (we highly recommend Swallow Falls State Park and also visited the West Virginia Botanic Garden) and did not use the resort amenities during our stay. The WiFi worked well, but cell service inside the house was pretty much non-existent (which Tony had told us about ahead of time). This wasn't a huge deal, as we just stepped outside if we needed to make a call or used an App.
Tony was a great host and left good instructions. We had everything we needed and was very clean on arrival. We'd definitely stay there again

Our family recently enjoyed a delightful stay at a cozy cabin nestled in a serene, wooded area. It was the peaceful retreat we were looking for, with all the comforts of home. The cabin's rustic ambiance and thoughtful design made it easy to relax. Our host, Tony, was incredibly welcoming and attentive, promptly responding to messages and ensuring we had everything we needed. One memorable moment was a black bear visit on our second night! While thrilling, it was a reminder of the importance of proper garbage disposal to avoid such encounters. The resort's restaurant, with its stunning views, was another highlight. The meals were good, and the convenience of dining nearby enhanced our stay. Though we loved our time, a few areas could use some TLC. The cabin's exterior needed cleaning, and some trees around the cabin appeared hazardous. Inside, the kitchen island and back porch furniture needed repairs. Despite these issues, we had a fantastic time and highly recommend the cabin.

My husband and I stayed at Tony’s listing for a weekend getaway for our anniversary. We love escaping to the mountains. Tony’s house was clean (compliments) to the cleaning staff.
We felt instantly relaxed. The property is quiet and a really great place to go to unwind. We spent our time cooking, enjoying the fire pit and hiking.

This was a great weekend cabin getaway location. There ended up being 6 of us stay and our dog and we had plenty of room and the cabin was very clean. The location is very peaceful and the outdoor fire pit was great. Tony was very informative of the things to do in the area and we had a overall great experience.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was cozy and well-equipped with everything we needed, like home away from home. The weather wasn’t the greatest, so we didn’t get to enjoy the surrounding trails and lake as much, but still very serene and peaceful. Tony was great and we would definitely stay again.

This was the perfect getaway for our family (three kids plus a dog). Our kids really enjoyed the cabin itself, but also the indoor pool and gameroom at the lake. Napping with the rain on the roof was amazing, and our dog really loved going on walks in the woods.

We loved the cabin!! Everything was amazing!! I loved taking a nap while it rained. My husband and daughter enjoyed candyland at the farmers market in Oakland!! Loved that we could bring our dog milkshake as well!! I would definitely recommend this

This cabin was the perfect spot for a getaway! Its quiet and serene atmosphere created a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The backyard was perfect for our german shepherd to run around and play fetch.
Tony's communication was proactive, clear, and he always responded in a timely manner. We had a great experience and would go back!

Tony was a very communicative host; before, during, and after our stay. He gave recommendations for everything you could have questions for. The airbnb is in a great spot, once you get out the driveway you get an amazing view of the lake which in my opinion is the best way to start any morning. Unfortunately, the weather was bad when we went but that didn’t stop us from enjoying our stay. We will be returning for warmer days as this spot is a hidden gem. 10/10 recommend!

Much like other reviews - the dishes were all in the dishwasher but were not clean, had to hand wash many of them. There were stains / human hair in 2 sets of bed linens indicating that they were not changed. There were clear efforts to improve the home by the owner - some furnishings were new, nice glassware and dishes but cleaning service is very lacking.

Tony's place is great. If you stay there you get to feel what life in the mountains is like, but with all the conveniences of a well-equipped home. The cabin is surrounded by trees, and if you walk downhill for a little, you get rewarded with great a great view of Alpine Lake. Tony is very responsive and made sure that we had everything we needed. I hope to stay there again in the future.

Love the location and would return! Recommend for beautiful outdoors and a lovely and safe location. We did have some issues - We arrived and there were dirty dishes in dishwasher, and many dishes had been put away with crusty food on them which meant we had to do some cleaning before we could eat. We did get lost on the way because Apple Maps takes you to a chained up fence. We called the number for help and they were rude to us and told us we should have read the manual (we did carefully, just got turned the wrong way with Apple Maps)
We still appreciated the recommendations and the host was nice, just would rather not have to clean someone else’s old food on the plates and pans and would hope for a nicer experience when we got lost.

Overall we loved the stay here it was beautiful scenery and pretty cool cabin in the woods with what’s included! The only problem was the property was not clean upon arrival and the environment/community discriminated/harassed us during our stay making us very uncomfortable the remainder of our stay. I’d suggest when booking here to be very careful of your encounters with people.

Nice place for a last minute getaway. Great parks nearby and lovely surroundings. The place is comfortable and peaceful. Only ding was the cleanliness. There were some dishes that had been put away dirty, what looked like cigarette burns on the couch, and other relatively minor issues. Not enough to ruin the weekend or anything, but noticeable.

Great stay in Alpine Lake. We came in the off-season so it was nice and quiet, really beautiful and peaceful.
Cabin is well laid out and has everything you’d need. Will plan to return in the summer to check out the rest of the resort amenities.

Cabin was not clean upon entry. We were traveling with small children and had to clean the space before we felt comfortable letting them play. Not a ton of local attractions but hiking trails in MD were fun and not too far of a drive. Fire pit was the perfect way to relax after a day of hiking!

Great little cabin in a nice location. The reason for 3 stars is how the bedrooms were described. The two beds that are described as "doubles" are single/twin beds: there's no way that two people could sleep in them. Because one of the queen beds is not in a self-contained room (but just at the top of the stairs), it's actually really awkward for two couples. Only one of the self contained rooms has a bed that fits two people, so the second couple has to sleep in the queen bed that's just at the top of the landing and not private. This is totally not what we expected. On top of that, the house was a little grimy and not well cleaned (crumbs and hair on the rugs), and there was no shampoo, conditioner or body wash as advertised so we had to go out specifically to buy that stuff. The kitchen was also very lacking in equipment with just one wine glass, very few glasses and bowls, etc.

Fun cabin in the woods near beautiful lake. Cabin is 10 min walk or short drive from playground or boat rental and club house. We used the pool at the lodge but had issues with our pool pass (included) which was easily resolved by friendly staff. Tony was very responsive and gave recommendations for local restaurants which are about 20min drive to closest. The community lodge has a decent restaurant if you don’t want to drive. Didn’t get to fish but they do stock the lake. All in all a good spot if your looking for a cabin off the beaten path with amenities around.

Overall we had a good stay at Tony’s place, only booked for one night, so didn’t have a chance to fully explore the area.
The cabin is as described, appx 5 min drive from Alpine lake, check-in process was very smooth.
Inside the house looks nice, but not the cleanest. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher, the trash can was dirty on the outside with no trash bag inside.
The kitchen could have been stocked better, we couldn’t find any wine glasses.
Compared to some other well stocked airbnbs we stayed before this felt below average.
Overall a good lake house to stay if you don’t care for those little things.

Great place in the woods. Felt safe with the gated community. The pool at the resort was an added bonus. We ate dinner at the resort and the food was really good and fairly priced. Alpine lake was absolutely gorgeous and the kids loved playing on the beach.
Loved the property! There are chipmunks running everywhere and they were really fun to watch, especially for the kids. We had deer right in the back yard our first night there. Had a very nice fire pit with nice chairs. They provided plenty of towels and toilet paper for the week. It was nice having a washer and dryer so we could come home with no dirty laundry (bring your own detergent).
The owner was responsive and helpful with any concerns or questions we had and checked in the make sure we were comfortable. I Recommend!

The house was comfortable and just what we needed - we were thrilled to be able to bring our dog and he settled in nicely too. Tony was communicative and welcoming, and arrival was very smooth. Unfortunately, the dishwasher had a broken part and the dryer lint filter was very full, so dishes and sheets needed re-washing right away, but Tony was very apologetic and promised to address for future tenants.

Tony was a great host! From the moment we scheduled, we got an email with detailed home and resort information. We knew what to expect before we got there, and planned food accordingly. The house was just enough space for our family and our dog. We loved sitting around the firepit and enjoying the quiet space. The resort was close by and had plenty of amenities to keep us entertained during the day. Close to deep creek, we were able to enjoy the benefits of MD and WV without having to go too far. Tony was a responsive and an attentive host. Will definitely come back!

This cabin was not well taken care of. Very musty smell as soon as you walk in (later figured out it came from the washer/dryer). There were crumbs EVERYWHERE: on the couch, under the couch, on the dining table, on the island. Utensils that were in the drawer were dirty. Not to mention there are what sounded like rodents in the walls upstairs. They’re VERY active in the night.
