We absolutely loved our stay! The cabin, scenery, and location were all stunning — we spent most of our time outdoors soaking it all in. Inside, the beds were very comfortable, and the space was beautifully designed with charming vintage touches throughout. Everything was well laid out and felt cozy and welcoming for our family of five. Communication and instructions were fantastic, and the host was extremely helpful and responsive. We couldn’t have asked for a better getaway and would absolutely love to come back!

What a hidden gem, close to DC and NOVA yet felt truly like a getaway. Perfect end of summer reset. River was amazing, setting was picturesque, nothing was left needing. Tony was easy and pleasant to communicate with. A must see for sure.

Such a special place! From the moment we booked, the communication and care from the host were top-tier. The large, private property with two riverfront spots made it feel like our own retreat. The hammock and Kayaking was the highlight, and the cozy cabin had everything needed for comfort and relaxation. The perfect blend of nature, comfort, and great service! Definitely recommend it to anyone in our outside states!

The place was great I would highly recommend. Beautiful scenery, great accommodations, very clean, friendly hosts, everything was great. The area is highly maintained. In our time we cooked burgers/dogs and explored the caves/city of Luray which is only about 20 min out. An amazing stay for a couple or small family.

A cabin with lots of character right on the beautiful Shenandoah River. Hot tub was clean and easy to open and close.
Lovey view of the river from the main bedroom. Close to Shenandoah River State park and Shenandoah National Forest.
Gas grill was also clean and extra propane tanks were available on site. Would recommend and stay again.

Tony was a great host and was a very effective communicator. Our last night we had lost power (which was not Tony’s fault) but that was an inconvenience to our stay and hindered us from having anything to do. No electricity, no WiFi, pitch dark in the forest, we were just spooked so we had left the evening before our check out. Overall, great stay!

This cabin was exactly as described. Having an EV charger was a great addition; saved us from having to make charging stops. The cabin is secluded, but still fairly close to Luray and Front Royal. There was plenty of cookware to make a meal at the cabin as well.
It was a little too cold to take the kayak or canoe for a spin but I liked that they were available.
Tony was easy to communicate with and the instructions were easy to understand.

Location is great. Only thing that was a bummer was that there was nothing to get the fire pit started with. We bought firewood, but the home did not have anything to start a fire with. There was one grill lighter, but it was completely dead. The stove inside the house is an infrared stove and the grill outside was not safe to use because it had a leaky connection to the propane tank.

We went for our first vacation with our dog and this location was amazing! We used the grill, firepit and hot tub as much as possible! We were able to walk around the property with our dog and leave her on a long leash outside to sleep in the sun most days. We used the canoe to take a short trip up river and then float down ( the current was stronger than we expected after a storm). The owners were extremely proactive in communicating and recommend local places we could go that were pet friendly. TV and DVD selection were great for our daughter young daughter once she got bored with the outdoors. Location was great and the little pod rentals next door looked so cute! There was enough separation between them and us that it was secluded, but was nice to interact with the other guys by the water. Would definitely rent this location again!

Was a great place next to the river for a couple or small family. Not ideal for anyone with mobility issues due to stairs inside and small living room space. Wonderful access to the river. It could use a few upgrades for overall price point. Also it looks very private but you’re next to smaller cabins and upper level of cabin occupied by others. Overall great place to get away for a long weekend retreat.

Beautiful location. Loved the easy access to the river and the hot tub on the deck. We would have loved to enjoy the fire pit but the weather was too hot. That being said we really appreciated the shade on the property. Lots of birds and we even saw deer getting a drink in the river.

We had a fantastic stay at our Cabin on the River! From the moment we arrived, we loved every minute of it. The Shenandoah River is absolutely beautiful, and the view from the cabin was great. Our two kids had a blast skipping rocks, snorkeling, kayaking, building bon fires, and hiking. The home was cozy and had everything we needed, making us feel right at home. The beds were very comfortable, and waking up to the stunning view from our cabin each morning was a highlight. We highly recommend this place and can’t wait to come back!

My first time in Virginia was amazing thanks to this location. It was the perfect gateway from the city and the fast life with my fiancée and 2 little ones (2year&8month) what made this location more special rather than the breathtaking views is that my fiancé grew up close to the air bnb so it was great to get to see where she grew up and enjoy it all as a family. I definitely recommend this Airbnb.

This is our 4th time staying here – just love the beautiful surroundings and peace of the property. The photos really don’t do it justice. We caught fish, went on a boat trip, and just hung out at the fire. We will definitely be booking later this summer. A couple of recommendations:
Watch and Warrant Restaurant in Luray is great
Same with the Chop House Bistro
Page valley fly fishing for a guided trip (we caught 40, and my 7 year old had a great time – they do spin and fly fishing)
Downriver Canoe Company for a canoe trip – the Compton Rapids and the area below are awesome.

We had a wonderful weekend at the Magic River Cabin. The pictures don’t do the property justice; the spot on the river is perfect and so peaceful. The cabin was quaint and homey, and comfortably fit our group of four. Tony was a great host; he was extremely communicative and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall a fantastic stay and would love to visit again!

As always, we had a fantastic stay at Magic River. The cabin was spotless and fully stocked, we didn’t need to purchase any extra coffee, paper products, or cleaning supplies. The grounds were beautiful. Really helpful having a dumpster on sight now so no need to travel to the public dump to dispose of trash. Hosts were proactive and responsive as usual. Can’t wait to come back!

The atmosphere was great, however, most of the dishes were dirty from previous use and kitchen was not very clean(old food residue on pans, utensils, plates, etc). There was also a dirty cup and beer cap by the hottub that was left from the guest before sitting on table. We had a nice stay overall but the cleanliness could be better as there was dog hair/soap residue in the tub/on the tub even with it being a cabin, it could be cleaner. We also weren’t aware cleaning crews would be coming in and out of the upstairs of our cabin until after the air bnb was purchased. I feel it is a bit overpriced for what you get but the outside activities were great. I’d say an overall 3.5 rating as we did have to wait an extra hour to check in due to issues with cleaning. He did accommodate an extra hour at check out however the cleaning people arrived at 1030 when we had til 11. The key was also not in lockbox when we arrived and was hanging next to it for anyone to enter before we arrived.

The cabin was just as advertised. Very clean and cozy. 4 of us stayed very comfortable. I really enjoyed the scenery, and being right on the river. We were there mainly to relax, and enjoy the countryside and was not disappointed. Tony was a great host making sure we had everything we needed. Would enjoy staying again.

We had a wonderful stay at Tony’s cabin! Everything was clean and just as described. Tony was very communicative and gave great suggestions for restaurants and things to do in the area. Check in was very easy, and instructions were very clear. We loved the hot tub and beautiful views of the river. There are other small cabins on the property, but there was enough space around to still have a sense of privacy. I would recommend having snow tires or four wheel drive if visiting during the winter months. We don’t have either on our vehicle and were caught off guard with a surprise snow storm on the last night of our stay. We ended up stuck in the cabin’s driveway until we could be pulled out, which wasn’t a fun ending to our stay. However, we really enjoyed our visit and would love to visit again!

This was a great little cabin in the woods. Loved stepping outside in the morning and walking down to the river’s edge. Plenty of games, books and movies to keep us busy when we weren’t exploring outside. Cell service is not great but the wifi was reliable, perfect for getting away from things. The 3 queen beds accommodated our group well but were pretty firm. Overall loved this spot and would stay here again!

My family enjoyed our weekend getaway.
The view of the river (and access) was incredible! We made s’mores at the fire pit, and enjoyed the hot tub. Lots of room for our dog to roam on her lead!
The kitchen was well stocked. I was so happy to find new condiments(forgot to pack). Bathrooms were stocked with toiletries & plenty of towels for showers & hot tub.
Tony was incredibly communicative and offered to give local recommendations, & help with anything we needed. A wonderful host!
We are already planning to return this Spring!
FYI I recommend printing, or texting, the Step by step directions. It was raining/dark when we arrived. Unbeknownst to us, Gmaps had stopped working and we missed a turn. Thankfully we are Gen X and remember traveling like pirates lol So we arrived fine! It would have been a nonissue if it had been light out! There were balloons hung on the street signs. Definitely wouldn’t have missed the turn had it been daylight!! ❤️

We had such a wonderful visit. We loved the cabin! It was even better than the pictures show. The serenity experienced by being able to walk out, skip rocks and listen to the river running downstream plus see the beautiful wildlife were truly fantastic and so peaceful. The instructions given in the manual and shown in the listing were very clear so we knew what to expect and what to bring such as spices/condiments, firewood and that there were nearby tiny homes vs complete seclusion at the property. We had an issue our final morning with a lack of water pressure but my call was answered and the woman that answered was kind and responsive. We tried Watch & Warrant for dinner (delish!), Main Street Flavors for local ice cream (so yummy!), toured Luray Caverns (incredible!), hiked Kennedy’s Peak (great view, take water!) and tubed downriver using the Downriver Canoe Co. services (friendly staff!). We are a family of 5 and all said we had a fantastic time and would come back :).

Loved our mini-stay right on the gorgeous Shenandoah River. Perfect set up, great location. About 20-30 mins to the national park, 15-20 mins to Luray. Tony was so helpful and in constant communication, above and beyond. There were some bugs in the cabin but c’mon people, we’re in the wilderness! Nothing crazy and to be expected. Loved the outdoor setup, we had a wonderful outdoor dinner and had a fire in the fire pit. At night, there are magical fireflies lighting up the sky. FYI we didn’t have cell service, but the wifi worked great! Super quiet and relaxing, highly recommend this spot to stay if you’re in the area. Thanks Tony for the awesome stay:)

We absolutely loved our stay! Beautiful clean property; and not just “clean for a house in the woods” but clean! It felt very private, even with the tiny homes on the edge of the property. It was the perfect getaway without the kids, but we might even bring them next time 🙂

Third time stay here as I wanted to come back in the summer and we weren’t disappointed. The river was low and the weather warm, so we were able to swim to some rocks in the river downstream which my boys really enjoyed. The biggest differences between this time and my previous stays (other than the weather) was that they have installed fast wifi (starlink) which they previously didn’t have. We had an awesome stay!

Great location with close access to Shenandoah National Park. Beautiful setting right along the river! Kitchen is moderately equip. The space inside is unique but worked well for our family. Hot tub was clean and very nice to slide into at the end of our days! Our kids swam in the river. Didn’t use the fire pit but the setting is great! We were just too tired at the end our days to sit out past dark. There are neighboring tiny cabins that the host owns. There were several guests in and out during our stay but never had any disruption. If you are a couple looking for a unique getaway, take a look at Tony’s listing. They look really fun! Lastly, Tony was super responsive during our stay. Best in class in my opinion! Thanks again Tony!

The cabin was adorable, well stocked, and it was just great being able to walk around by the river and hang out by the fire-pit at night. We didn’t get on the water at all, since the water level was a little high from the recent rain but a hot tub in the rain more than made up for it! We will probably spend some more rainy weekends in Rileyville — and maybe try one of his tiny cabins next time! (:

My stay at Tony’s place was a great experience. The location is exceptional. The Shenandoah River flows quietly right there past the yard. I could hear the river as I grilled, while sitting by the firepit, and even while sitting in the hot tub. I loved the mornings while listening to the birds and the river. It was so peaceful hearing the sounds of nature while also watching the squirrels and birds scurry around. I even saw the sunrise and sunset over the river. The entire area was beautifully green and full of life. As far as the house, I slept really well all week. The shades that cover the windows were a bonus for me as I like to sleep in pitch dark. We cooked several meals in the well-stocked kitchen. Tony was very receptive to communication as he texted me to ensure everything was going well with my stay. Tony’s place is located about 20 minutes north of the town of Luray. The drive into Luray is beautiful with rolling hills and mountains in view. I highly recommend this place!

Excellent host, super responsive, and communicative. This place exceeded my expectations. I took my two boys fishing here for a few days during spring break and it was a perfect getaway! We loved it! The inside is very clean and well-done, with lots of seating, tables, and the bathrooms have amenities and even lots of hooks, which was very convenient! For us it was super quiet, with great peaceful fishing access, and a really fancy & wonderful hot tub. Loved it!

I have been to many cabins on the Shenandoah, and this was by far the best. The house was clean and well decorated and wifi was good. The best part, however, is the property as it is remote, located on a private section of the river, has a beautiful lawn, and is surrounded by woods. Nature moments included eagles, ducks, and geese. A pair of wood ducks and a pair of pileated woodpeckers appear to be nesting in the large sycamore at the base of the stairs to the river. We mostly stayed on the property – relaxed, fished, grilled, and used the hot tub, but I would also recommend the Downriver Canoe Company which is located about 10 minutes away. They put us in right below the Compton rapids and we stayed on the river for an hour or so. Can’t recommend enough and we’ll go back in Summer when we can wade, swim, and snorkel!

What a hidden gem, close to DC and NOVA yet felt truly like a getaway. Perfect end of summer reset. River was amazing, setting was picturesque, nothing was left needing. Tony was easy and pleasant to communicate with. A must see for sure.

Such a special place! From the moment we booked, the communication and care from the host were top-tier. The large, private property with two riverfront spots made it feel like our own retreat. The hammock and Kayaking was the highlight, and the cozy cabin had everything needed for comfort and relaxation. The perfect blend of nature, comfort, and great service! Definitely recommend it to anyone in our outside states!

The place was great I would highly recommend. Beautiful scenery, great accommodations, very clean, friendly hosts, everything was great. The area is highly maintained. In our time we cooked burgers/dogs and explored the caves/city of Luray which is only about 20 min out. An amazing stay for a couple or small family.

A cabin with lots of character right on the beautiful Shenandoah River. Hot tub was clean and easy to open and close.
Lovey view of the river from the main bedroom. Close to Shenandoah River State park and Shenandoah National Forest.
Gas grill was also clean and extra propane tanks were available on site. Would recommend and stay again.

Tony was a great host and was a very effective communicator. Our last night we had lost power (which was not Tony’s fault) but that was an inconvenience to our stay and hindered us from having anything to do. No electricity, no WiFi, pitch dark in the forest, we were just spooked so we had left the evening before our check out. Overall, great stay!

This cabin was exactly as described. Having an EV charger was a great addition; saved us from having to make charging stops. The cabin is secluded, but still fairly close to Luray and Front Royal. There was plenty of cookware to make a meal at the cabin as well.
It was a little too cold to take the kayak or canoe for a spin but I liked that they were available.
Tony was easy to communicate with and the instructions were easy to understand.

Location is great. Only thing that was a bummer was that there was nothing to get the fire pit started with. We bought firewood, but the home did not have anything to start a fire with. There was one grill lighter, but it was completely dead. The stove inside the house is an infrared stove and the grill outside was not safe to use because it had a leaky connection to the propane tank.

We went for our first vacation with our dog and this location was amazing! We used the grill, firepit and hot tub as much as possible! We were able to walk around the property with our dog and leave her on a long leash outside to sleep in the sun most days. We used the canoe to take a short trip up river and then float down ( the current was stronger than we expected after a storm). The owners were extremely proactive in communicating and recommend local places we could go that were pet friendly. TV and DVD selection were great for our daughter young daughter once she got bored with the outdoors. Location was great and the little pod rentals next door looked so cute! There was enough separation between them and us that it was secluded, but was nice to interact with the other guys by the water. Would definitely rent this location again!

Was a great place next to the river for a couple or small family. Not ideal for anyone with mobility issues due to stairs inside and small living room space. Wonderful access to the river. It could use a few upgrades for overall price point. Also it looks very private but you’re next to smaller cabins and upper level of cabin occupied by others. Overall great place to get away for a long weekend retreat.

Beautiful location. Loved the easy access to the river and the hot tub on the deck. We would have loved to enjoy the fire pit but the weather was too hot. That being said we really appreciated the shade on the property. Lots of birds and we even saw deer getting a drink in the river.

We had a fantastic stay at our Cabin on the River! From the moment we arrived, we loved every minute of it. The Shenandoah River is absolutely beautiful, and the view from the cabin was great. Our two kids had a blast skipping rocks, snorkeling, kayaking, building bon fires, and hiking. The home was cozy and had everything we needed, making us feel right at home. The beds were very comfortable, and waking up to the stunning view from our cabin each morning was a highlight. We highly recommend this place and can't wait to come back!

My first time in Virginia was amazing thanks to this location. It was the perfect gateway from the city and the fast life with my fiancée and 2 little ones (2year&8month) what made this location more special rather than the breathtaking views is that my fiancé grew up close to the air bnb so it was great to get to see where she grew up and enjoy it all as a family. I definitely recommend this Airbnb.

This is our 4th time staying here - just love the beautiful surroundings and peace of the property. The photos really don't do it justice. We caught fish, went on a boat trip, and just hung out at the fire. We will definitely be booking later this summer. A couple of recommendations:
Watch and Warrant Restaurant in Luray is great
Same with the Chop House Bistro
Page valley fly fishing for a guided trip (we caught 40, and my 7 year old had a great time - they do spin and fly fishing)
Downriver Canoe Company for a canoe trip - the Compton Rapids and the area below are awesome.

I was expecting a private area where there wouldn’t be people around. There is 2 other cabins a few feet away. There was someone that came onto the property I rented for a propane gas for his grill which was outside the property I rented. Maintenance on the hot tub was done while I was already there with my family, I expected that to be taken care of before I arrived. Also maintenance person is in and out a lot. There was a time I guess someone stayed to sleep upstairs since there was a light on until about 11pm then it was turned off. Overall it was alright I was expecting more privacy for the price I payed for. It was clean but it is relatively small. The tub that belongs to the living room bathroom didn’t drain quick enough. Overall it’s okay for tops 3 people I wouldn’t suggest more it is a smaller space.

We had a wonderful weekend at the Magic River Cabin. The pictures don’t do the property justice; the spot on the river is perfect and so peaceful. The cabin was quaint and homey, and comfortably fit our group of four. Tony was a great host; he was extremely communicative and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall a fantastic stay and would love to visit again!

As always, we had a fantastic stay at Magic River. The cabin was spotless and fully stocked, we didn’t need to purchase any extra coffee, paper products, or cleaning supplies. The grounds were beautiful. Really helpful having a dumpster on sight now so no need to travel to the public dump to dispose of trash. Hosts were proactive and responsive as usual. Can’t wait to come back!

The atmosphere was great, however, most of the dishes were dirty from previous use and kitchen was not very clean(old food residue on pans, utensils, plates, etc). There was also a dirty cup and beer cap by the hottub that was left from the guest before sitting on table. We had a nice stay overall but the cleanliness could be better as there was dog hair/soap residue in the tub/on the tub even with it being a cabin, it could be cleaner. We also weren't aware cleaning crews would be coming in and out of the upstairs of our cabin until after the air bnb was purchased. I feel it is a bit overpriced for what you get but the outside activities were great. I'd say an overall 3.5 rating as we did have to wait an extra hour to check in due to issues with cleaning. He did accommodate an extra hour at check out however the cleaning people arrived at 1030 when we had til 11. The key was also not in lockbox when we arrived and was hanging next to it for anyone to enter before we arrived.

We had a wonderful stay at Tony’s cabin! Everything was clean and just as described. Tony was very communicative and gave great suggestions for restaurants and things to do in the area. Check in was very easy, and instructions were very clear. We loved the hot tub and beautiful views of the river. There are other small cabins on the property, but there was enough space around to still have a sense of privacy. I would recommend having snow tires or four wheel drive if visiting during the winter months. We don’t have either on our vehicle and were caught off guard with a surprise snow storm on the last night of our stay. We ended up stuck in the cabin’s driveway until we could be pulled out, which wasn’t a fun ending to our stay. However, we really enjoyed our visit and would love to visit again!

This was a great little cabin in the woods. Loved stepping outside in the morning and walking down to the river’s edge. Plenty of games, books and movies to keep us busy when we weren’t exploring outside. Cell service is not great but the wifi was reliable, perfect for getting away from things. The 3 queen beds accommodated our group well but were pretty firm. Overall loved this spot and would stay here again!

My family enjoyed our weekend getaway.
The view of the river (and access) was incredible! We made s’mores at the fire pit, and enjoyed the hot tub. Lots of room for our dog to roam on her lead!
The kitchen was well stocked. I was so happy to find new condiments(forgot to pack). Bathrooms were stocked with toiletries & plenty of towels for showers & hot tub.
Tony was incredibly communicative and offered to give local recommendations, & help with anything we needed. A wonderful host!
We are already planning to return this Spring!
FYI I recommend printing, or texting, the Step by step directions. It was raining/dark when we arrived. Unbeknownst to us, Gmaps had stopped working and we missed a turn. Thankfully we are Gen X and remember traveling like pirates lol So we arrived fine! It would have been a nonissue if it had been light out! There were balloons hung on the street signs. Definitely wouldn’t have missed the turn had it been daylight!! ❤️

Lots to do in the area, close to historic Luray. We had such a wonderful visit. We loved the cabin! It was even better than the pictures show. The serenity experienced by being able to walk out, skip rocks and listen to the river running downstream plus see the beautiful wildlife were truly fantastic and so peaceful. The instructions given in the manual and shown in the listing were very clear so we knew what to expect and what to bring such as spices/condiments, firewood and that there were nearby tiny homes vs complete seclusion at the property. We had an issue our final morning with a lack of water pressure but my call was answered and the woman that answered was kind and responsive. We tried Watch & Warrant for dinner (delish!), Main Street Flavors for local ice cream (so yummy!), toured Luray Caverns (incredible!), hiked Kennedy's Peak (great view, take water!) and tubed downriver using the Downriver Canoe Co. services (friendly staff!). We are a family of 5 and all said we had a fantastic time and would come back :).

Tony's cabin is beautiful! The river behind the house is lovely, and we were very comfortable. Tony is excellent with communications, and the grounds were so beautifully kept! Everything was clean and felt well kept-up. We had a great time!

This listing is falsely advised, you do not access to the entire cabin, only access to the first floor. In addition, there are three small containers rental on the same property, that are close enough that you can see and hear each other. To intrigue people to rent those small containers, the owner promotes kayak onsite, but they do not have there own separate river entrance. They would have to enter and exit the river through the cabins grill and fire pit space, further reducing your privacy. No coffee, powered creamer, lighter, or firewood is provided. The kitchen is mildly stocked, bring your own condiments if you are going to cook. This property has a centipede infestation, we kept smushing them and they kept appearing. Not to mention, there are mouses in the kitchen, specifically the oven. You might as well grill outside. The hot tub needs some cleaning and the hammock needs to be replaced. Plus, Tony messages you a long list of task to accomplish before leaving the property.

Loved our mini-stay right on the gorgeous Shenandoah River. Perfect set up, great location. About 20-30 mins to the national park, 15-20 mins to Luray. Tony was so helpful and in constant communication, above and beyond. There were some bugs in the cabin but c'mon people, we're in the wilderness! Nothing crazy and to be expected. Loved the outdoor setup, we had a wonderful outdoor dinner and had a fire in the fire pit. At night, there are magical fireflies lighting up the sky. FYI we didn't have cell service, but the wifi worked great! Super quiet and relaxing, highly recommend this spot to stay if you're in the area. Thanks Tony for the awesome stay:)

We absolutely loved our stay! Beautiful clean property; and not just “clean for a house in the woods” but clean! It felt very private, even with the tiny homes on the edge of the property. It was the perfect getaway without the kids, but we might even bring them next time 🙂

Third time stay here as I wanted to come back in the summer and we weren't disappointed. The river was low and the weather warm, so we were able to swim to some rocks in the river downstream which my boys really enjoyed. The biggest differences between this time and my previous stays (other than the weather) was that they have installed fast wifi (starlink) which they previously didn't have. We had an awesome stay!

Great location with close access to Shenandoah National Park. Beautiful setting right along the river! Kitchen is moderately equip. The space inside is unique but worked well for our family. Hot tub was clean and very nice to slide into at the end of our days! Our kids swam in the river. Didn’t use the fire pit but the setting is great! We were just too tired at the end our days to sit out past dark. There are neighboring tiny cabins that the host owns. There were several guests in and out during our stay but never had any disruption. If you are a couple looking for a unique getaway, take a look at Tony’s listing. They look really fun! Lastly, Tony was super responsive during our stay. Best in class in my opinion! Thanks again Tony!

The cabin was adorable, well stocked, and it was just great being able to walk around by the river and hang out by the fire-pit at night. We didn't get on the water at all, since the water level was a little high from the recent rain but a hot tub in the rain more than made up for it! We will probably spend some more rainy weekends in Rileyville -- and maybe try one of his tiny cabins next time! (:

My stay at Tony's place was a great experience. The location is exceptional. The Shenandoah River flows quietly right there past the yard. I could hear the river as I grilled, while sitting by the firepit, and even while sitting in the hot tub. I loved the mornings while listening to the birds and the river. It was so peaceful hearing the sounds of nature while also watching the squirrels and birds scurry around. I even saw the sunrise and sunset over the river. The entire area was beautifully green and full of life. As far as the house, I slept really well all week. The shades that cover the windows were a bonus for me as I like to sleep in pitch dark. We cooked several meals in the well-stocked kitchen. Tony was very receptive to communication as he texted me to ensure everything was going well with my stay. Tony's place is located about 20 minutes north of the town of Luray. The drive into Luray is beautiful with rolling hills and mountains in view. I highly recommend this place!

Excellent host, super responsive, and communicative. This place exceeded my expectations. I took my two boys fishing here for a few days during spring break and it was a perfect getaway! We loved it! The inside is very clean and well-done, with lots of seating, tables, and the bathrooms have amenities and even lots of hooks, which was very convenient! For us it was super quiet, with great peaceful fishing access, and a really fancy & wonderful hot tub. Loved it!

I have been to many cabins on the Shenandoah, and this was by far the best. The house was clean and well decorated and wifi was good. The best part, however, is the property as it is remote, located on a private section of the river, has a beautiful lawn, and is surrounded by woods. Nature moments included eagles, ducks, and geese. A pair of wood ducks and a pair of pileated woodpeckers appear to be nesting in the large sycamore at the base of the stairs to the river. We mostly stayed on the property - relaxed, fished, grilled, and used the hot tub, but I would also recommend the Downriver Canoe Company which is located about 10 minutes away. They put us in right below the Compton rapids and we stayed on the river for an hour or so. Can't recommend enough and we'll go back in Summer when we can wade, swim, and snorkel!
